These are so cute! I normally wear a 6 women's shoe, so I sized down to the 5 Medium and it was perfect. Follow the sizing guidelines.
For reference, I wear a size 6 medium for Clarks desert boots - the length is fine, but is a tad tight. I also wear a size 6 for Brooks running shoes which fits perfectly.

So well made, excellent material, excellent workmanship. Excellent fit, and I can wear a nice heavy sock with them just like my 8 inch high pair. I think these boots are beautiful! I wish all shoes you offer in women's sizes came in wide! I have "duck feet" --short and wide. I really wear a 5 and a half but good luck finding those. I can wear these boots all day long and am sure they will wear forever like my other pair. I'm 76 years old, 5 foot 2 and a half inches tall and think this style boot is way cool.

I love my Bean Boots. They wear forever and are so well made. The quality is so obvious. I have a pair of 8" as well as these 6". Thank you for making these boots in a wide width. I wear a 5 and a half wide. Can never find any shoes in 5 and a half anymore so I'm stuck with 6 but in a boot I wear a heavy sock so it works out fine. I wish you sold all shoes in a wide width! I have had hammer toe surgery and a bunionectomy from narrow shoes! I many times buy boys shoes as they are wide enough!

The boot runs large, so I was fitted in women's 9 B when I normally wear women's 10 wide or men's 9 B.
Allowing for thick socks and outdoor usage apparently is the reason for the sizing. It works! Love the boots and happy to be able to fit these difficult feet of mine - very high arch throws a lot of styles out of contention.

This is exactly what I hoped for to walk the dog during and after the torrential Houston summer rainstorms. Great fit, keeps the water out, easy to walk two miles in.

Purchased full size smaller than my normal 7. With thick socks it's a bit tight but with my normal socks they fit perfectly.

After 20 years, my old duck boots cracked. I tried to fix it and finally decided it was time for a new pair.
I wanted to get a pair that would last me another 20 years.
I chose the LL Bean's for their made in the USA and their good look. The website advised me to buy 1/2 size lower than my normal size.
They got home in good time, have a great look, are fitting well and are surprisingly comfortable with normal socks.
I also got a note from David, who apparently worked on it! Awwww!
Thank you guys!

I am happy to see younger women wearing these boots! I was in college in New England in the 1970's when these were the "hot" item. They are in perfect shape and I will wear them forever

How I adore these boots in Deepest Pine Green! It's true maybe it's no secret anymore, but my secret favorite color has always been Dark Green. So I knew I had to have these boots the minute I saw them.
It's a wonderful green without any yellow in it. And, although I usually don't like brown, I'm really excited about the British Tan leather shaft. It's a deep, rich, and complex shade, reminscent of Tiger Maple wood. So I absolutely love the British Tan as well as the Deepest Pine.
The 6" height is proportionately best for my short legs. But there's also an 8" boot for taller people or longer legs, TK509074.
I'm fine with the webbed tongue, as it makes them waterproof when slogging through bay inlets or soggy grasslands. For beginners, they're easier to put on if you 1) Don't put the laces in till after the boots are on your feet. 2) Wear thin, slinky socks at this beginning learners stage.3) Use a shoehorn. Or the long handled-end of a slotted spoon works beautifully. No, don't use the spoon end or you might never get it back out. Trust me, I did your homework for you. 4) Now put the laces in. Go slowly, one tier at a time. And you can stop short at, say, the third tier to get used to them around the house.
If you have discomfort at any level, unlace them back down a tier until it feels better and slowly work your way back up. Don't rush it.
This is only my 2nd pair of Bean boots. My 1st were a size 6 Limited Edition with a padded collar. I assumed I needed a padded collar to avoid pain on my ankle bone, but these unpadded boots are more comfortable than my padded ones. Even at size 5, they seem deeper height-wise over the vamp, than my Limited Editions size 6. My feet measure as size 6 on the Brannock device.
There's also a 7" Lounger Buckle Primaloft Boot TK510017. I'm trying to think of a way to sneak them past my husband, as they are my favorite version. But every time I put them in my Bean bag, they sell out from under me. They actually show the Tiger Maple effect the best, so even though I desperately want them, I feel duty-bound to urge you to click on the 1st and 3rd photos so you can see that British Tan color at its best, even if it means I lose out again.
I actually think LLB should offer their boots in Deepest Pine permanently. After all, their trademark plastic mailing bags are Dark Green. - this boot just reflects their own theme and becomes yet another trademark. There could be a whole line of Green Bean items. This green-hearted girl would love it!

Ordered size down as recommended, but I guess my heavy weight socks are heavier than some people wear in cold weather. Size down was fine with regular weight socks but to wear the heavier wool socks I prefer in the outside winter weather had to order a size up. Normally wear size 7 1/2

I love these ultra functional but still cute boots. Some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned right out of the box. LL Bean quality for sure.
