The boot was fine from a functionality standpoint, but it is not the boot of years ago. Overall for the price and the look it is a good value. It was a gift to my wife and she was happy. If she is happy, I am happy...

I've been trying to get decent waterproof shoes from LL Bean, but it's been unsuccessful. Until this purchase. The boot feels great on and does not constrict my feet. The only negative for me is the tongue or the top of the boot is rubbing on my leg and leaving red marks. I do wear the thick boot socks with the boots.

Very comfortable! I did get a size smaller and it fits with Bean Ragwool socks.

These have been great for morning walks in wet pastures and walking through shallow creeks. I usually wear a 9 or 9.5 wide, the 8 wide fits perfectly with heavy socks. I just wish they had more support/pronation control.

I bought these because they were recommended by a friend as reliable snow boots. Was looking for something semi-stylish (snow boots are usually hideous) or at least ugly-chic. What I got were boots that were well-made and surprisingly very comfortable. The shoes run large as everyone has said before. I am normally a size 6.5 medium and I have a high arch. I ordered a 6M, the smallest you can order. They are comfortable with normal socks, not too tight and would be comfortable with thicker socks as well. I've been wearing them in the rain lately and they're nice to walk around in. These might turn into my football/fall/yard shoes if I'm not careful. You can also see the quality in the leather. The shoes shipped fast and I appreciate the return/guarantee even though I wouldn't think of sending them back now. I'm glad I'll be prepared for the winter slush. I can't speak to durability at this point, but they look and feel like quality.

I specifically bought these boots for my current land clearing, brush dragging, mud slogging project. They are doing the job. I also own other rubber llbean shoes that I prefer as they are easier to slip on and off if I need to go in the house. However, these are the perfect boot right now. The sizing is also as suggested. I normally wear an 8-1/2 and I ordered the 7 as suggested and they fit perfect.

It's probably going to be a very rainy winter here in San Francisco. I didn't want to spend $150 on Hunter boots and I wanted something quality made. Loved the video and was sold immediately. I usually wear an 8 1/2 or 9 and I have wide flat feet. Ordered a pair in size 8, medium width, and they fit fine with semi thick athletic socks. I probably will just keep a pair of normal shoes at work so I don't have to wear them all day.

I received my boots recently so could only give 4 stars as I haven't worn them out in the snow and/or really cold weather. I have worn them on several damp, fall evenings to split and cut wood. They were very comfortable (once I got use to the boot being higher or lower) than I am use to. I got the 6" pair as I have plenty of highand low cut boots. They were very comfortable while carrying the wood from one spot to another and standing in one place to cut and split. I plan to use them in the middle of winter when I go out to split wood. Also, they are not real bulky. I love that they are still hand made here in the USA.

I recently ordered these boots after intending to get them for years. I got brown/brown, 6". Normally I wear a 6.5 in shoes, and after reading the reviews made sure to order a size 6. However, the boots are huge! Even with thick socks, the boots are hardly wearable for me. The boots are obviously made very well and are excellent overall, however they run extremely large. I will most likely return them because of this, and am now considering ordering the Girls' boots (although they are not quite what I was looking for color/height wise).

It's true, this boot runs about 1/2 size big, but the width seems about average. It's also true that it's a little tight getting my foot into the boot because the tongue is sewn to the sides. I haven't given mine a good workout yet, but I may get insoles for them for more comfort. That and a good thick pair of LLBean socks will take up enough space that I can wear them comfortably even with the extra size, so I'm keeping mine!

I was at a friends home who had just ordered this boot, she was telling me that she loved them, I could tell that they were really well made. The next day I ordered a pair for myself, the website was on back order so I called a few stores and found my size. I order them on a Tue and recieved them that Friday. I love this boot, I think next time I will try the 8 inch, but I love the fact that I can wear these to work and they still love professional enough. I did the size chart which worked great I usaully ware a 9/9.1/2 got the size 8, fit great. I would and have recommend this boot to friends. I thought it was funny when I looked at the bottom and it had DM which is my Initial they boot were made for me!!

I love these boots. Becareful of the sizing however. Bean recommends you buy 1 1/2 sizes smaller than your regular size and they mean it. I didn't pay attention when I ordered my first pair. They were way too big as a size 7. I returned them and ordered a size 6. These are good with one pair of thick socks.

I purchased the Bean boot (6") as a Christmas present for my adult daughter. She loves them. They are sturdy and good looking and resilient to the damp. That being said, the only caution I would offer is that these boots must be worn with wool socks that absorb sweat and keep out the cold. The boots I purchased were without thinsulate, and it may be worth the increased cost to invest in the insulated boots. Without wool socks, my daughter's feet sweat in the boots making them uncomfortable to wear . If you are wearing the boots in the snow, then the sweat makes the cold from the snow seep into the boots. With the wool socks, this is dramatically minimized. Overall, it is a good boot, but expensive.

I wear a size 8 in all my other shoes and boots, so I ordered a size 7. With standard cotton Bobby socks they were still a full size too big. I know these aren't intended for hiking or longs walks, but I was hoping they'd work. Nope, not flexible. The leather ankle is stiff. I'll try the gum shoes or waterproof hiking shoes.

The tongues were angled into the top of my foot and made it quite uncomfortable. I also wound have to wear insoles so I didn't feel the ground below. I returned them.

Great quality boot; really wanted to keep them but the tongue kept pressing into my leg, making it painful to wear

Fit is good with thick socks. The soles, however, are extremely slippery. Having this same boot previously never had a problem and I'm sure I'll wear once the weather is better. Disappointed that the soles prevent me from wearing them now.

I returned these. I wasn't a fan of the sewn-in tongue, and the hard collar rubbed uncomfortably. I went with the tumbled leather instead. They were well worth the extra expense. They're easier to get on/off, and the padded collar doesn't rub. I typically wear a women's 9.5W shoe. I've found that a size 9 is best for me in Bean boots. The medium (B) width is fineno need to go with the D. The 9s are a little long, but the 8s are a little short. I wish they came in half sizes. Please always keep Bean boots Made in Maine!

Quality was off. Stitching was loose, stitching coming apart, excess glue and upper separating.

I received my boots. I ordered my normal size based off the reviews! Did not fit, too long, too wide! Returned, ordering a whole size smaller!

I spent a lot of time debating on buying these for the price but after the reviews I was convinced I needed a pair. I love them but after only one wear, the tongues are all discolored where the laces rubbed. I wasn't expecting such wear in tear for the first wear/price.

They are much stiffer than the fleece lined boots I borrowed from my daughter-in-law years ago. They felt like they would need a break in time and they just were not snug to my feet. When I got to Boston, I exchanged the 6-in boots for the standard fleece lined 10-in. Comfortable immediately and I am very satisfied with that choice.

I loved these. I wear and 8.5-9 in womens, due to width. The wide D 7 fit perfectly. However, after a year of very normal use (dog park walks),the stitching totally failed on the ankle. A huge hole on my inside ankle bone. I was just barely able to return them. Not sure why they would fail so fast?

The leather uppers are stiff and rub leg with wear, even with heavy socks. It would be nice to have a softer leather or some sort of padding to protect against rubbing

My wife always wears a size 7. The size 7 in this footwear is large. We need to try a 6 1/2. Other than that, the boot is very nice.
