Its unfortunate that the boot doesnt come in half sizes - that would make them perfect!

Just got my boots today. The sizing reference provided was so helpful. Im a 9.5 (normal width) and I purchased the 9 medium b. They are absolutely perfect and so comfortable. This was one of the easiest online shoe shopping experience Ive had in a very long time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

While I have previously bought Bean pants and Bean polos from the outlet store in Kittery, this is my first pair of Bean Boots. They are sturdy, warm, and water resistant. I ordered a women's wide, and they fit my foot perfectly. The right boot rubs slightly on my right ankle, more due to having a slightly crooked leg than any fault of the boot, so I wear a double pair of socks. I recommend this style for anyone looking for a footwear investment. Special thanks to Brenda B. who made this pair according to a postcard that came in the boot box.

We bought our son a pair several years ago when they were all the rage in his school. He still swears by them in the wet winters he gets where he lives. He convinced his mom to try a pair. Shes a convert and loves her boots.
Solid, well constructed, and break in fairly quickly. They are easy to maintain and clean as well. Not cheap but as I pointed out to my wife, our son has had his for many years with no issue. Well worth the expense.

These boots check all the need boxes. Kept feet dry; kept black, dusty dirt out; were comfortable to wear; not heavy like some boots, nor clunky like wellies (although I like my wellies). Good product at good price.

True to size and extremely comfortable, though shaft was very stiff. Concerned regarding traction in slippery conditions due to lack of deep treads.

tying laces is not as convenient as slip-ons (my last pair of ll bean boots). I do like this pair for working around the farm. do not have to worry about walking in muddy areas.

It is the most bizarre sizing I've run into before. I wear an 8.5 in women's Keen boots and shoes, but this was a 7.5 for sure. Be prepared to try on sizes, thus the 4 stars. So far, it has been excellent support and, despite the odd sizing, works very well for my fasciitis and arthritis. For those worried about breaking in, it is a leather topped shoe, so the leather will take some work, just like a pair of leather hikers. Wear thicker socks, and maybe tuck some quilt batting in around the top and pleats for the first week. Wear them couple hours every day. However, once they're broken in, it'll be like the proverbial gloves. It's not instant gratification, but they'll last. Well made, excellent support, good even going up and down hills in Wyoming. Would recommend.

I love the boot, overall. Wore it around the house for a day but found the "fold" that creates the tongue to be troublesome because it is uncomfortable where it rubs against my ankle. I will try it for a few more days to give it a chance because I really like the boots overall, and would love for them to be my forever outside, work boots. We will see.
As to size, I normally wear a 10 and bought a 9. It is perfect, not to short.

Love these, comfortable and decided to treat myself after the holidays. I should of held off for the lined boots, but I love these just the same

Great boots, very comfortable! Does need a liner for warmth, but they let you know before purchasing. Love them!

I read lots of reviews to size down. I’m typically a 9.5 so I ordered an 8. They barely fit.
I also am not a fan of where the 6” hit my ankle. I find it painful and uncomfortable. So I’m exchanging them for a 9 in the 8”.
I hope they work. I’ve looked at these for years!

These are very well made. I should have ordered a size smaller like the description said. They were too big. I didn't reorder a smaller size only because the leather at top where the ties are, was very stiff and uncomfortable. Otherwise, they are very nice.

I've always wanted a pair of "Bean" boots so I decided to treat myself and I could not have been happier. I typically wear a size 9.5- 10 depending on the shoe style and brand, but these run large in my opinion.. I ordered a 9 and they were like clown shoes on my feet and I returned them and ordered the 8. The size 8's they fit perfectly- I can wear mid weight socks and not have my feet feel cramped.

This item was returned and based on the tracking number, it has been received by L.L. Bean. Now waiting on exchange. Needed a 7 narrow.

As other people had stated, they do run BIG. I normally get a size 8 wide but ended up with a size 7 wide after also trying on the size 6 wide. While the 7 wide is still a little big even with thick socks, I found that as I walked around the house with the boots on, I came to like them more and more. They are very comfortable. It you plan to use them in the snow, then you may want to get the ones that are lined.

This is what I expect of a Bean boot, BUT...if you like the pebbled leather, than make sure you buy the boot made with that. I bought this style thinking it would be pebbled leather, which is soft and looks so nice the older it gets. This was disappointing, and was purely my fault. I recently purchased two more, but with the pebbled. The leather on this boot is stiff, and not comfortable with the initial wear, so it needs to be broken in. Great style, great boot! I've been buying them since the late 1970s and will continue.

Definitely size down as suggested in both shoe length and width. These are great sturdy boots for the last year and a half but just recently noticed a small slit in the rubber at the top of the boot...called customer service and all they could suggest is having them replace the entire sole of both boots for $40...disappointed that the guarantee on the bean boots only lasts a year especially since they are American made and expensive. Miss the lifetime warranty.

I ordered a 6. Normally I wear a 7--7.5. These are very big for a 6. They are also very stiff. I have worn them now for over 6 months and they are still hard to get on and off. I have to wear very thick socks to keep them from slipping off my heals. In addition the shoe strings that came with them don't stay tied - even if I double knot them. They do keep my feet warm and dry.

Runs big! Normally wear 7! Had to return for 6. Fits very large! The "tongue" rubs the top of my foot. Hopefully this will settle in with wear. Otherwise, very comfortable and highly recommended!

I wear size 9 in everything except running shoes I do 9.5. These were definitely at least a whole size too big. I don't understand why LL Bean doesn't make them standard size and then recommend you buy larger if you wear thick socks--that way you know what size you're getting! I just returned them and didn't exchange. Quality was good, they look nice, I just didn't see that they would ever fit right.

I have searched and searched for narrow-width rain boots that are affordable. This is a great option! I would prefer something with a better arch support. But based on my internet search, I find that when you have a long, skinny foot (size 11 narrow), you can't be that picky! I'm very happy with these boots and am so glad I found them.

Hate that the size isn't true.
Even though in retrospect it was written there I still got it wrong and had to exchange
