I've wanted a pair of these for decades and finally was able to purchase a pair. I take a size seven and kept thinking I was going to have to send these back if I order a size smaller (size six) like they tell you to. I ordered one size smaller and the boots arrived today and they fit perfect. I wear medium socks and there was still plenty of wiggle room for the toes. Boots fit well, not tight and very comfortable. If you want to wear thick socks you need to stay with your regular size. Great item still made in the U.S.A.!

Just received my new boots. Wore them twice so far and I love them. Fit recommendations are right on. I have owned other cheaper brands in the past and they are not nearly as comfortable or well made like these. These boots are perfect for the Monsoon season!!!

Great for wet, cold & muddy conditions. Wear 9 1/2 N, ordered 8 B. Use with boot socks. I can see that the 8" would be hard to get on. Very comfortable

It fits exactly how they say it will -- super-big for thin socks, great for super-thick ones. They'll take a little breaking in, as there's a spot under the ankle that rubs, but I'm sure I'll have these forever. They're my new favorite gardening and rainy day shoes (some days at the same time!)

I bought the brown ones for my daughter and she loves them. She's going to buy another pair in blue. She wears an 8 1/2 med and after reading the reviews I bought her a size 8 med as they said they run a little big. They fit her perfectly. She hasn't had them long, but so far so good.

I love these boots! I was apprehensive about ordering the recommended size (I wear a 9.5, and ordered an 8), but they are perfect. Comfortable from day 1, and even to wear inside all day. I work at a camp, and the ground is very sloppy in the winter/spring, so they are ideal. I recommend wearing them with a little thicker ankle-length or longer sock to avoid chafing from the top of the boot. Thanks for such a great product. The only thing that could top them is if they came in some fun colors, like yellow or red.

These are the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever worn. I have a bad foot from injuries and I was able to wear these boots all day hiking and hunting.

I love my bean boots. They run about a size too big even with a thick pair of boot socks. Otherwise width is true to size. I would totally recommend them to a friend!

They fit perfectly, and did not require any breaking in time. They look nice, and I love them!

Totally satisfied with this 6-inch boot; used your gum shoes for many years. This purchase will serve me well here in the Shehandoah Valley. Also appreciate the value at your price point.

I ordered a wide sized boot, one size down as recommended. I had to send them back and order one size larger (my normal size). Waiting to see how they fit. I also ordered a comparable sized men's boot, just in case. I've owned a pair of these boots for 10+ years and I love them. Just have to get the fit right!

I have the 8" Bean Boots, but I found them to be a big uncomfortable because they came too high above my ankles. The 6" is just the perfect fit. I also ordered a size smaller than what I normally wear, and it has really made a difference. The fit is PERFECT!

These boots could not have arrived at a better time! The Midwest has experienced above average snow falls this winter and these boots help to keep my feet warm and dry, while outdoors tackling the elements. Not to mention they helped to keep me standing upright after a recent ice storm here. I do agree with some of the other reviews, they will take a breaking-in period, but it is brief. The quality and craftsmanship are superb. I look forward to enjoying my L.L. Bean Boots for many years to come.

I love them! Quality and look just as advertised. I have a pretty standard width foot but after trying on my sister's boots I ordered the narrow...right decision for me. I am a college student and wear them to class in the snow and rain. They are functional, comfortable, and attractive.

I wear a women's 12 narrow. I ordered this shoe in a women's 11N and in a men's 11M. The women's 11N fit perfectly! The delivery was earlier than expected. I love these shoes! I will be ordering another pair as a spare.

Great boots! I was worried about ordering a size down as recommended, but the fit is perfect. NYC snow can be pretty messy and these boots have been perfect!

I have a horse, so I wear these to the barn 7 days a week, 365 days a year. I wear them with light cotton socks in the summer and have lots of "air" conditioning room, and heavy wool socks in the winter. I'm ordering a new pair after 4 years. There IS a break in period, so hang in there, but they become perfect. The 6" is not too high for summer and not too low for winter.

My teenage daughter is very feminine & stylish and wanted these LL Bean 6" boots even though I offered her HUNTER boots. They really do look cute with jeans or leggings on a messy day. I, of course, love it b/c I wore these same boots as a teenager/college student. My child wore my low slip on boots I have had since 1976 until she got her own. Goes to show LL Bean is still producing a great product!

I had a pair since jr. high school, different brand, now I'm 38. Still wear the boots. Extremely durable and fantastic for sledding and tromping through the snow. I highly recommend these boots! They look as great as they work! I'm purchasing a new pair for myself and my daughter.

I usually wear a 9-9.5 in sneakers with thin socks, and like a snug fit. For me 8 narrow was too big. There weren't any stores I could exchange in Minneapolis but I called, and they sent a 7 and instructed me to return the 8's once I received the new boots. Shipping was also very fast. I was very impressed by the customer service!

I haven't had a chance to wear these out yet, but they are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn! The size recommendations are perfect as well. I plan on buying more soon!

I purchased these boots in the 8 inch and 6 inch. After trying on both, I decided on the 6 inch. I was looking for a good pair of boots that I could wear to a family camp next summer. We are outside most of the time and it is dusty, muddy, and dirty. I needed something I could easy wash off. I like the 6 inch because they look good with shorts or you can also wear them with jeans. They feel good when I tried them on, but the real test will be when I wear them for an extended period. Love the look and feel so far!
