I have been eyeing these boots for years. I finally ordered them and I am so pleased with the quality and comfort. I know they will last me for years and years. I followed the recommendations for ordering half a size down and it was perfect. I normally wear a size 6 1/2 or 7 depending on the maker of the shoe but I ordered a size 6 for these boots. I don't plan on wearing ragg socks or thick socks since I live in S.C. They are warm enough with regular socks. They are rugged and the gripping is really good. I ordered the 6 inches because I wanted ankle support as well. These boots do the trick. I highly recommend.

These shoes were exactly what I wanted and needed! I ordered them out of necessity and I am so pleased with how they handle the snow, rain and terrible terrain of the North East! I love these boots and recommend them to all of my fellow college students and New Englanders!

My husband's pair finally wore out after nearly 30 years. When he ordered a new pair, I decided to get my own. We are avid gardeners. They are perfect for that. Not just for hunters, although I know that was the original purpose.

I must be the exception to the rule here as I took all of the sizing reviews into account when I ordered my LL Bean boots and ordered a size smaller. I normally wear a 9-9.5 women's. I ordered a size 8 and found them to be too tight. LL Bean suggests a thumb's width be at the toe and that was not the case with my feet. I felt if I really put on a heavier sock, my toe would be right at the end of the toe-box. So I reordered a size 9 and they are just right. There is plenty of room for toes to move and the leather upper doesn't feel as confining. Quality is excellent and return process easy.

The same outstanding quality as my 1st pair, many many years ago. (This is my 3rd pair). AND STILL AMERICAN MADE!! What a rarity in this day.

I usually wear a 10-1/2 narrow shoe. The size 10 narrow with an extra sock inside works well.

The boots do run large, so follow the fitting instructions. I love that these boots double as snow boots and rain boots. Good purchase!

Heaven on my feet! Watch the sizing though. Bought the moccasins and 6" boots.

Outstanding product. Well-constructed. Appropriate for use in the elements. True to size (but note LLBean's advice that they fit best with ragg style socks). Arrived in a flash. Highly recommended.

This boot is ideal for indoor and outdoor use. Working in the ski industry is all about keeping warm and dry and this boot defiantly fulfills both those requirements. It has a nice bit of arch support and can moderate your foot temperature so your not overly warm indoors but comfortable in moderate winter temperatures outdoors. The leather on these boots is super soft adding to the comfort and waterproofing appears to be holding up very nicely.

I bought these a size down, as suggested, but then also ordered both the medium and narrow widths for comparison's sake. I have a narrow foot and am planning on wearing these with lighter socks, so I stuck with the 7N and LOVE them. I love sunny weather but have found myself hoping for rain so I can have an excuse to slip them on.

My mother bought these for me as a birthday gift in October of 2011. My regular shoe/sneaker size is 8 1/2 wide. Since the reviews mentioned that these boots ran large, we ordered the medium size 7. Although the size 7 fit fine, I really did need the wider width. We sent them back for a size 7 pair of wide boots and they couldn't fit any better. I have a high instep and a chubby calf, and nothing rubs or irritates my foot. My toes are spread appropriately in the shoe and I can even tuck in the bottom of my pants on winter days when I need to shovel out my car. An absolutely perfect boot, and I would buy them again in a heartbeat. I got the navy and they're just adorable. The best part is they are completely waterproof!

These boots are just what I needed for the barn. They are very soft and comfortable. I wear a size 8 1/2 and ordered size 8. I like to wear thick socks. I love the way dirt does not stay in the soul.

I actually look forward to rainy & snowy days so I can wear my duck boots! They're amazing, and SO comfortable. I typically wear 7's, and ordered 6's. Fits perfect with thicker socks. I can now "puddle jump" with ease.

I love these boots! Definitely order a size down like they recommend. I normally wear a size 8 and I got a 7, and there is still some wiggle room(plenty of room for some warm socks). I think it is so neat to be wearing a design that has been around for decades and is made with the same quality and care in the USA.

I'm spending time back in New England after years in California, and when I couldn't find my old LL Bean "duck boots," I ordered a new pair. They're exactly the same, which is exactly what I wanted: great tread, comfortable fit, and still made in Maine.

I had been wanting to get these boots for two years. I just got them and they came just in time for the four day rain storm we had here. They performed beautifully through many hours of standing and trudging through mud (26.5 hours!) - did I mention I love my job....
I wear a size 8 and ordered these in an 8 narrow - they fit just right! If your foot is not narrow, order a size down.
I love these boots! You wont be sorry!

I purchased the 6" boots for my wife to use on a Rogue River float trip. After four days in an open boat, with constant rain and eventually snow, she never had a slip or wet or cold feet. They totally outperformed the look-a-likes worn by the other women in our party. Comfortable performers, on and off the water, at a great price. They even let me order two sizes and return one to make sure I had the right size for her.

I live in Louisiana and bought these boots to work in my yard for two reasons: lots of wet weather and a good chance of running across a snake. I ordered a size down as recommended and the fit (with light and midweight socks) is perfect. Great support and protection and very easy to clean.

I've hiked around in these several times with my mid-weight wool socks and they are absolutely as described in fit and comfort for me. And, of course, I know that they are made to last well beyond what one would expect for their cost. I also love the way I can slip in and out of them quickly and yet they're waterproof up to the full height of the boot. I keep them at the back door...ready for action in any weather. The quality does appear to be top-notch!

I couldn't believe it when my mom said that she used to wear these shoes in the 70's. But I can see why. They look great, wear great, and make walking to class a lot better than having wet feet all day. Thanks for a great, timeless product!

Just replaced a 10-year-old pair. The fit and mud-slogging ability are just as good as they were in 2001. And they're still made in the USA, in Maine! :)
