Bought these for my 17yr old daughter and she loves them! I followed other reviewers suggestions and purchased these 1 size smaller than she normally wears and they fit perfectly! She has worn them in a rainstorm as well as a snowstorm and her feet have been dry and warm--highly recommend these.

Even though I think these boots would be great in the snow, here in LA, we don't have a lot of that. But, we have tons of rain, and these boots are perfect for walking after it rains. Very comfortable, and like the sizing info tells you, believe it when they say these run big. I wear an 8 or 8 1/2, and I ordered a 7. They fit perfectly! Love these boots and wish I had found them sooner!

Good for rainy day errands and dog walking. Easy to slip on/off. Comfortable w/medium weight wool sox. Bootlaces aren't very flexible but they do stay tied.

I have a very hard to fit, narrow foot. The LL Bean customer service people were great in helping me figure out the sizing. If this helps anyone, I wear a 9.5 narrow in an athletic shoe, and an 8.5 narrow in a regular shoe. I had first ordered a pair of the thinsulate boots in an 8N and they were too tight with a thick sock. I'm not sure if that was due to the thickness of the sock, or if the thinsulate made them slightly tighter. I haven't tried these new, unlined boots with a thicker sock yet. I think if I got a paired for thick socks, or another pair of lined boots, I might get a 9. I decided on these and they fit great with a medium thickness sock. I've worn them once in the rain and they worked great. The first pair that I got were the 8" and they just didn't fit right. I'm fairly small and the 6" seem to hit just right (it was hard to walk in the 8"). I rate these "true" to size based on the LL Bean sizing info, so they do run large, but if you follow their instructions it should work. The only thing I might change is to have the heel a little narrower (a combination last of AA foot with AAAA heel). Overall I think that these will be a good purchase and I'm glad that LL Bean is making narrow shoes that are really narrow (I've had on narrow shoes that I walk right out of!).

These are the first classic LL Bean boots I have owned. They are very well made and fit just as described. I ordered my regular size and they are roomy enough to wear Smart Wool type socks with. Will use mostly at our Montana mountain cabin. They will give me good support with all the rocks and keep me dry through the streams.

These boots are incredible. I have gone though a gamut of rain boots from shorties to full wellingtons and never satisfied till I someone suggested these. AlI can say is Wow ! They are super comfortable, stylish, durable and still made in the USA. What more could you ask for ? The one thing that I should mention is that my size 7 was maybe only about half size too big, not a full size. The LLBean website suggests sizing up a full size, which is probably not accurate for a women's size 7. Of course, your mileage may vary ;-) Love them !!!

For the past few years I'd been using my husband's size 12 LL Bean boots for taking out the dog for quick walks in our backyard and wanted a pair that actually fit me. I usually wear a women's 9.5 shoe and was concerned about ordering the Bean boots in a size 8 as the video recommended; I was sure they would be too small. Happily the boots fit really well and I am very happy with them. I wear them with cotton athletic socks and the fit is fine, not too small or too big. Wish I had bought these a few years sooner as they keep my feet dry on wet rainy Autumn and Winter days; I also wear them for long walks with my pooch and they are really comfortable. My boots aren't insulated so they may not be ideal in snow but I will give them a try.

I ordered these boots to better endure Seattle's slushy sidewalks of Autumn leaves and her equally slushy Winter snow. So far, I am impressed. Construction: Very durable and smartly detailed. The thick leather pull-up strap is great. Comfort: More comfortable than I was expecting. Typically I find new shoes annoying to break in, but these felt good straightaway. A more padded insole would be nice, considering the thinner socks I prefer, but isn't strictly necessary. Looks: Handsomely dorky. Their beauty lies in their extreme utility. Bottom line: A classic Fall-Winter boot for a reason, and well worth the price.

Went on holiday and it rained non-stop and the only part of our body that kept getting wet was our feet. So we came home and ordered both womens and mens and they are the best waterproof boots we have ever worn. We were a little worried about sizing because we both have high insteps but confirm all the other reviews are correct, you can order one size down. We use a shoe horn and although it can be a struggle sometimes to get your foot in the boot, nothing too serious that I would not buy another pair. We did not have to break them in and were comfortable from day one on our long dog walks. We have to walk through quite boggy and wet areas and it is great knowing we will get home with warm, dry and toasty feet!

For 20 years, I have walked my dogs every night, rain or shine -- and in Oregon, it's usually in the rain. For the first few years, I bought a new pair of rain boots every year because they would get holes and leak. The last pair I bought (before my Beans) were so uncomfortable, they would make my heels bleed. I finally had enough and decided to invest in a pair of Bean boots. They were very expensive for me at the time, but they've proven to be an incredible value. I've worn them for 15 years through mud, snow, and dog park messes (they hose off easily). I'm very happy with my Bean boots!

I wear 9.5N. These boots in 9N fit w/ ragg socks and fit w/ heavy cotton socks. Thin socks will work in a pinch but wouldn't want to wear them w/ the boots for a long period. I LOVE THESE BOOTS! I have a very narrow foot and these were comfortable from the get go.

I love these boots. I usually wear a 9.5, I went by the sizing chart and ordered a 8. They fit perfectly. I ordered the lightweight socks to go with them. I would definately order them again. Great product

These are beautifully well-constructed boots! Very comfortable, rugged & classic. For a perfect fit, I followed customer service advice to size down. Excellent fit--very comfortable from the moment I slipped them on & laced them up. Thanks LLB for another 5-star product made in the USA!

I love these boots. I wear them almost everyday when walking my dogs in the woods and fields behind house. In early morning the grass is wet. I had been wearing hiking boots and came back with wet feet. I tried rubber boots, but they are not good for walking. These boots are good for walking and keep my feet dry. The only thing that I would recommend is getting a size smaller than usual. I normally wear an 8 but wear a 7 in this boot.

I ordered the 6" Bean Boots in my normal size (10) but they were too big. Customer service was quick to help me and I had size 9 Bean Boots delivered to me the next week. They are absolutely perfect and now I'm anxiously awaiting some snowy/rainy weather to enjoy them with!

I ordered a pair in 6 Wide. My normal shoe size is 6 and a half wide. These fit great, look great, and don't hurt my feet--even brand new they need very little break-in time. I used these to walk my dog on a humid, warm day. I noticed on my 3rd wearing that some glue on the seam on the left side of each shoe was stretching a bit as if the leather might be coming apart from the rubber. Not the whole seam--just 3/4 an inch under the bottom grommet where the "V" shape in the thread is. Not a big deal, so I messaged LL Bean about an at-home fix. They said they'd send me a new pair and a return label for the old pair, new pair due to arrive in 2-3 days. Customer service was polite and cheerful--"Lisa" and "Deborah" were great! I'm a loyal customer now! Thanks LL Bean! Oh and these boots look great in pics, too. :-) So cute.

I bought this in 7M and the gumshoes in 6D wide earlier this past winter and both pairs fit well. The width is just right but the length is a little loose depending on the thickness of the socks worn. With the Cresta midweight and medium thick merino wool socks they keep the feet dry and comfortable during the rainy spring days we've had. So far I've worn them with a slight thinner pair of wool socks in the humid May days they've kept my feet comfortable. I expect they will be around for a very long time, well worth the money spent!

I was looking for a boot with a removable insole that would accommodate the orthotics that I am required to wear in my shoes. These boots work great. They are wide enough to slip the orthotics in with the boot unlaced. I wear the boots when I work in the garden or in the yard. The boots give me the support and stability I need and kept my feet and orthotics clean and dry.

I bought these boots last year and they have held up great. I usually wear a 7 1/2 or 8. I ordered a 7 1/2 and it works great with the thick socks I like to wear with them. The style is classic and durable. My only complaint is the laces have not held up very well. They did not break, but unravelled a little.

It took forever to find boots that fit my wide feet. I wanted something comfortable that I could wear outside in the rain and mud and these are perfect. I can wear regular socks as well as merino wool or heavier cotton socks, and they keep my feet warm and dry. It took several months to receive them, since they're hand made in Maine, and it was well worth the wait.

I ordered these boots because we are building a house on the Oregon Coast and I wanted something that would keep my feet dry. I have wide feet and a very high instep. Frequently even shoes that are labeled "wide" are not wide enough across the ball of my foot and many times my high instep prevents me from even putting on some models of shoe. Consequently I was skeptical about the advice to order a size smaller. I normally wear a size 8 wide and at the time I placed my order the 8 wide was not available so I ordered the 7 wide. When they came I had difficulty at first getting them on because of my instep but once on they fit perfectly. Fortunately the leather upper is soft enough that it has stretched a little and getting into them is easier. I wear them with thick socks and my feet stay warm and dry even on really cold rainy days. I am delighted that this boot is also sized for a wide foot!
