I LOVE these boots. They are definitely big on me, as they don't make them small enough for me to order a size down, but it doesn't bother me. Just makes it so I can wear thicker fuzzier socks! I started wearing them when it started getting colder this year, and I've been wearing them ever since. Water proof so I can wear them in the snow, even when it's all melty, decent traction so I have fallen down on ice yet. Fine for less cold weather with a regular sock, good for cold weather with warm socks. Even though they are big on me, they don't slide around on my feet so they are still comfortable.

This is my third pair of Bean Boots. I have the mocs, the higher bison, and now these. These are my preference for an NYC lifestyle, because their lower height and color looks less substantial in a way, and they are great with skinnier legged pants rolled up, or even leggings. I am usually a 9.5 and ordered a 9, which is the size my taller boots are. But I realized I'd want to wear these more casually, with normal socks or barefoot, so I swapped them for an 8. The 8 fits great, just like a normal 9 or 9.5 sneaker would fit. Definitely recommend these to ladies who want to weatherproof their feet without sacrificing style. Bean Boots are a preppy staple!

I bought these for daily walks in the park with my dog. (Living in Brooklyn, you have to choose your wardrobe carefully, even when playing fetch with the dog - style is everything!)
I bought a size 8 to begin - ended up ordering the 7, and ultimately went with the 7. I had watched the video but because I am an 8 1/2, I thought I would still need the 8, but not the case.
I can easily wear a somewhat thicker sock - no problem.
LOVE!

Bought these as a gift for daughter. As is mentioned in many previous reviews, they run big, so I ordered size according to manufacturers instructions, and they fit perfectly. Daughter was very happy w/this item.

The Bean Boots arrived promptly and just in time for the cold, wet fall weather. I was concerned about sizing. I am normally a Med Size 8 and ordered a Med 6 based on my daughter's suggestion these boots run small. The 6's fit great and I was able to wear them all day the first time with no issues! Fantastic purchase!

WATERPROOF, IF PROPERLY CARED FOR. INDISTRUCTABLE. THE LAST PAIR IS 7 YEARS OLD AND STILL IN USE. I JUST NEED A HIGHER BOOT.

Got these as an early Christmas gift for my daughter, who's at college in Ithaca. She said they were all she wanted for Christmas because her feet were cold and wet. Of course, I had them sent immediately! She has called me at least three times to tell me how warm and dry they keep her. Only problem is that they come in whole sizes only, but some extra thick socks fill the gap. If you're between sizes, go larger, not smaller.

I bought these boots and was torn about the width. I normally wear between a 7.5 and an 8 and I do have a wider foot, but not quite a wide in all my shoes. I decided to purchase the 7 wide for some room with thicker socks. They are a tad bit too wide on me, but yet very comfortable. I thought about exchanging them for the medium width, but I'd rather have a tad bit too much room than a tad bit too little room, so I'm keeping them! They are really comfortable and the perfect length. Love them!

By far, these are the best boots I've purchased. I would highly recommend these to anyone. They're comfy and not bulky like some other brands. The fit is great and probably could've even ordered one size below the usual. Just perfect:)

Customer service was really excellent when I accidentally submitted the wrong address, they fixed it immediately and my order arrived all the way to the opposite coast in the same week! My favorite shoes, I can tell I'll live in them for years.

I ordered these last week after wanting them for ages! I was a bit nervous about the sizing, so I called and spoke with a customer service rep, who was very helpful. These boots run very big, so definitely heed the warning about sizing down. I live in Texas, so my socks are on the thinner side and I was advised to order a size 6. I normally wear a 7 1/2 and they fit perfectly! I look forward to many years of wear from these stylish kicks!

I originally ordered the 8" in my normal shoe size (7) thinking I would wear my thickest socks with them, but I should have listened to the sizing suggestion to size down. I also felt like for my height (5'1") they hit my leg in an unflattering spot. So back the 8" size 7's went and I purchased these 6" in a size 6 and I could not be happier with them! They are also a little easier to pull on and off since they are shorter height. They look good under jeans or with leggings tucked in and will keep my feet dry and cozy when paired with my medium weight hiking socks.

I've never written a review, but these shoes are the best. From the moment I put them on my feet, I knew they were a good choice. They are so comfortable and not to mention I got a lot of compliments on them. They work great for just being outside. I work on a ranch so they fit my lifestyle perfectly.
I love these shoes.

I love this boots! I wear a size 6-61/2 shoe with a pretty narrow foot, the size 6 fits comfortably with thick and thin socks and the narrow AA is actually narrow. I wore these on about a 2hr. hike right when I got them and they were so comfortable, my feet stayed warm and no blisters! (Just wear taller socks till the tongue breaks in) I have this pair, the mocs, and the 10'' lined. Thanks Bean for the awesome boots!!

I've used the Maine Hunting Shoe as my morning boots for many years. These do seem to run large, even more than last year. Glad I followed the other reviews and ordered a size 8. One small disappointment- rather than being wrapped in some form of paper in the box, there was a plastic sheet separating the boot, which I can't recycle. Would have been happy with a sheet of newspaper in there!

Excellent boot. Well made and fits nicely. If you are going to wear a light or mid-weight sock, definitely order a full size down as they suggest. I normally wear an 8 and the 7 is comfortable with room to put on a thicker sock. Nicely done LL Bean!

Finally a shoe that I can wear to work in the garden, which entails being on my feet for hours at a time, in uneven ground, often wet. I have spent a fortune on water-proof shoes to wear while working in the garden. None compare to the comfort and support of these Maine Hunting Boots, especially after a few hours of working. I highly recommend their quality of workmanship and the quality of the materials.

These boots comfortable and versatile- exactly what I have been looking for. Following other reviewers' suggestions, I chose to size down and was not disappointed. I typically wear a size 11 but ordered the 10s and they were a perfect fit!

I wanted a versatile boot I could wear in the rain & in the woods hunting. A boot that looked great, had style, was made well & fit great & I found exactly that! I live in the deep south & you so not see LL Bean boots everywhere like you do up north. I am the type of woman who likes having things not everyone has ;). I usually wear a 9 1/2 reg width, but the size 8 regular width in these boots was too narrow so I mailed them back for an 8wide & PERFECT!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!! Thank you LL Bean for wonderful customer service! Btw it has stormed literally everyday this summer and that is why I needed a well made boot, my other cheepie rubber rain-boots I purchased last summer cracked on the side & soaked my feet. I have used these Bean boots these daily since receiving them & my feet do not sweat like other cutomers commented about & im wearing them in temps where without rain its eaily 100* and with rain maybe a hot steamy 90*...They are very comfy too & look FABULOUS...a timeless classic! GREAT PRODUCT I look forward to years of use!

I use to have a taller pair that were nice and the leather top was broken in. We've moved around a lot and I lost them somewhere. I need to break in the leather on my new ones and then they'll be perfect. They are easy to slip on to take the dogs out in the wet grass. Love them!

I am extremely pleased with my purchase. I had always had trouble finding warm, durable shoes that were also waterproof - but these boots are an essential for the weather in upstate NY. I bought a size smaller than I wear in a street shoe and the boots fit comfortably with or without thick socks. Also, this price is great compared to other boots similar to this style. I would recommend these shoes to anyone!

This is my second pair of Bean boots. I also have the tall waxed canvas Signature boots (which are wonderful!), but those can be such a project to put on and take off, and I wanted something quick and easy for every-day wear.
I've worn these almost every day since I received them. They're comfy, practical, and they look rather fun with most outfits. I have a pretty long walk to work in NYC, and these protect my feet from many of the weird things that end up in the streets.
They do run super huge-- I ordered a whole size down, as recommended, but they're still really big. Still love them, though!

This is my first pair of bean boots and I really love them! I was very unsure about what size to order them in...I wear a 7-7.5 and sometimes an 8. I ordered a 7 and am very happy with them. I do NOT prefer to wear heavy/thick/wool socks, so I ordered the shearling insoles to help keep my feet warm. The boots fit perfectly with normal boot/trouser socks and the insoles. They are comfortable and very flexible and stand up to both rain and snow here in MI. The only things I think are worth noting is they are VERY stiff when you first receive them. I wouldn't plan to wear them around for more than an hour right after you get them. They take some time to break in as the leather on the sides is brand new and not very soft, so they rubbed on my ankle bone pretty badly. Also, the shoelaces are pretty silly. They are SUPER long (they must use the same laces for all men's/women's boots) and they are also very stiff. They stick out weird and are kind of like tying your boots with wire. (They don't lay down nicely like the picture) I need to try and soak them in water to see if that helps. I assume they will break in with time, but for the time being they look ridiculous. Otherwise, great boots, fantastic customer service (chatted online with the colors and trying to decide on the size), an overall great experience!
