When ordering these boots I was very hesitant at first due to the mixed customer reviews for sizing. As I continued reading the reviews I noticed a lot of people said to order a whole size down. When I saw that these boots only ran in whole sizes, I figured because I wear an 8 1/2 In women I should be good to go with ordering a 8 W because my feet are slightly wider than an average woman foot may be. I knew that ordering the 7 W may b to snug and to my surprise ordering the 8 W was a success because it fits me wonderfully with great wiggle room to spare. I like the fact that when it's freezing in New York I can wear thick socks and still get a great and comfortable fit with these awesome boots. Please purchase and you won't be disappointed.

I'm so excited to wear my LL bean boot! I can't wait to wear them in the fall and winter. I'm in college and these are perfect for any college girl anywhere! I would recommend these for any parent looking to buy their children a Christmas present! Make sure you follow the shoe guide! I usually wear a 7 in boots and tennis shoes and went down a size to a 6. They fit perfect!!

I love love love my new 6" Bean boots! Made the decision to purchase them in the middle of the summer because they are always on a super long back-order fall through the spring. Sizing suggestion hit them right on- order your regular size if you plan on wearing them with a thick/heavy-weight sock. Order a size down if you plan on wearing with a light/mid-weight sock. I ordered both a 6 and 7 just to make sure I got the right fit. Won't be wearing them to much with the heavy sock because I have Bar Harbor boots for that, so I kept the 6 and they are perfect with the light/mid-weight sock! Return was super easy since I have an LL Bean store at my local mall!

I return about 95% of all items I order online from any business, not because I want to, but because something was wrong with size, color etc, and so I had my doubts about ordering the boots, and especially when the size recommendation was to order one size smaller than normal, which I have as an adult always worn an 8M. But I ordered the 7 as recommended. It took 4 months for them to arrive, but OH MY GOSH! I absolutely LOVE them. The first time I tried them on, the instep seemed a little tight, almost like it was a struggle to get the boot on, but it was easy to get off. The next day I tried them on again, and they went right on. I love the way they fit. I can't imagine how I lived without them, and now I'm looking to order other boots from LL Bean, as I am a TRUE believer in their boots and sizing.

They are true to size, extremely comfortable, warm, really for any weather, they don't get hot and sweaty inside, they're sturdy, easily cleaned and waterproof .I LOVE THEM. After two years, they are still like new and i've worn them at least 100 times.

These boots are excellent for rain, mud, and snow.

I LOVE these boots. As soon as fall begins I break them out for the rain, the sleet, the snow, the ice. I have pretty wide feet but I got the regular width and only had a problem with fit once, when I wore the boots with my super thick Smartwool socks, my feet felt a little scrunched in there. I wear my skinny jeans folded up over them, my regular flare-ish jeans, and I've even wore them with taller embellished socks and leggings. The most comfortable ever. They work great for hiking, I wear them all the time around the trails in Kentucky (Land Between the Lakes#. I brought them along on my Colorado camping trip this past fall and wore them everyday except the day we went way up in the mountains #I wore my actual hiking boots then). And with them only being 6 inches tall, they're so easy to slip into, so they sit by my front door to be used every morning to let my dogs out...so basically they're the best for around town, bad weather, dog walking, hiking, camping, pretty much anything!

I bought these boots last week and they arrived in just over 7 days -- super impressive! (Actually, they arrived just in time for a torrential downpour in the Bay Area, too.) I ordered the 6", Size 8 Wide, which I found to fit PERFECTLY on my pretty wide, size 9 feet. They're very comfortable and kept out 100% of the rain. The foot bed is definitely wide and perfect for my wide feet! On the flip side, it was kind of a struggle to get my foot through the brown leather part the first few times and, if my feet were any thicker, I don't think the boots would fit. It's gotten easier after a few tries and my hope is that it will get even easier as the leather becomes more worn and pliable. Just thought I should note this because it could be a potential issue for my fellow wide-footed friends! Great job, LL Bean! Thanks for creating a boot that actually keeps my feet dry!

So amazing how boots that were in style when I was in high school are exactly what my daughter wants 30 years later! Very sturdy, comfy and stylish (we wear the same size and can share, lucky me!!!)

These boots were lifesavers in New Zealand. Perfect for the snowy, rainy conditions we encountered. While everyone else was sloshing around in running shoes we were warm and dry in our boots. Great for hiking trails, boat decks and city walking. Had thought we would only need them occasionally on the trip, but wore them almost every day. Surprisingly light and only wore them once or twice briefly for a quick breaking-in and so comfortable even for all day wear. Took someone else's advice and wore the polypropylene liner socks along with the mid-weight hiking socks. Can't tell you how many people, especially New Zealanders, wanted to know where we got our boots. They may be large to pack but we will absolutely bring them to Scotland next summer and for any other trip that involves lots of walking/hiking outdoors. I really like the rain mocs as well, but the higher cut of these boots meant we could handle deep puddles; shallow streams and all day rain. So pleased that these are offered in narrow sizes as I am a AAA. Ordered 1 size smaller than normal and fit perfectly.

This was my first time purchasing anything from L.L. Bean. I was originally going to order a size 8 (my true size), but thank goodness I read the other reviews that said to watch the sizing video, so you don't accidentally order too large of a size. These boots are true to size IF you follow the sizing instructions. I have a wide foot and didn't want to risk the size 7 being too narrow, so I ordered a 7wide. I'm so glad that I did! These boots arrived over a month early and they fit wonderfully. I'm excited to try these out when I go to Northern California, Ohio, and Tennessee this winter.

I decided to write a review about these because I received them as a gift in high school--at least 15 years ago now. Granted, they don't get worn every day, but they have survived 15 winters (about half of those in New England, so lots of snow and ice!). My pair runs a little big, but I assume the idea is you'll be wearing them with thick socks, which is exactly what I do. I only wish they came up a little higher because snow still sometimes finds its way in, no matter how tight I lace them up. For that reason, I just went and bought myself a pair of LL Bean tall wellies :)

I had been thinking about these boots for ages and finally bought a pair. They are as lovely as I remembered from when I had some years and years ago. Well-made, classic style, perfect for rainy, snowy weather. Follow size guidelines as they run large. I had some shipping issues because of my strange address and everyone I dealt with at L.L. Bean Customer Service was extremely helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with my order.

I was extremely worried ordering a 7! I am between an 8 and an 8.5 medium. The 7 medium fit perfect and I can wear regular socks and it fits very comfortably. I'm so excited to wear these out and about!

I absolutely LOVE my Bean boots! I'm a first time purchaser and I couldn't be more pleased. I ordered the 6" because of my small/short frame. They look great. I was told my boots were on back order and I received them 2 weeks ahead of the scheduled date. If you're thinking about getting these, I definitely recommend!

I have had my eye on these boots for several years now, but they were always sold out by the time I got around to buying them. This year I purchased them early to insure I could have them for the cold months. That being said, my boots were still back ordered when I purchased them in early October. However, I received my boots a whole week before they were supposed to even ship! So, if you're considering buying a pair that are back ordered, they *MAY* come to you early! These boots are very well made, comfortable, and stylish! My only issue with breaking them in was that the hard leather rubbed uncomfortably against my ankle for the first few wears, but now they feel just perfect! As for size, I typically wear an 8.5-9, so I went with the 8 AA and they fit comfortably with any type of sock. I'm very impressed with my purchase and can't wait to enjoy these boots for many years to come.

I have been waiting a long time to buy these boots. I had tried some snow boots that were higher and they seemed so awkward and bulky. These 6" boots fit like I have had them for years! Very comfortable with no chafing around the ankles! I do suggest you follow the sizing guideline when ordering!! I usually wear a size 10 mostly because I have wide feet so I ordered the size 9 wide! Perfect!

The boots are extremely comfortable. I'm normally a 7.5 and ordered a 7 and they fit great (and will still fit with thick socks). My feet are really narrow so I'm glad that was an option. I love the way they look and feel, can't wait for winter weather!

I love, love, love my new boots! They are so cute and comfortable. Just remember to watch the size video before you order - I usually wear a size 9 and ordered a size 8, and they are still very roomy.

I cannot wait until winter to really wear them! I will say, follow the instructions on ordering a size smaller than usual. I am 5'9 and usually wear a 9 (sometimes a 9 1/2) and I was very anxious about ordering an 8 but I did and it was the right decision! great purchase and shipping was FREE and fast. thank you!

Perfect for rainy or muddy weather. Comfortable too!

My only regret is that I did not buy these bean boots sooner! The length of the boots are longer which gives enough room for thicker socks (or you may want to buy a size smaller). The rubber is tough and will keep water out. I've worn these everyday since I bought them for short and longer hikes with different grounds. The boots are very comfortable and easy to wipe clean. I have a very good feeling that these will last me a lifetime!

These boots scream classic to me! The fit is great (I normally wear a 7.5 or an 8 but sized down to the 7 per the sizing guidelines), though they do require some breaking in, as all good boots do! I can't wait to wear these through the long fall and winter months of Boston!

I love that they have a shorter pair for shorter people! I purchased the taller ones a few years ago without knowing that they had a shorter pair. But I just got my shorter ones and they're so comfortable and fit great. I prefer the wide fit so I can wear thicker socks and not feel suffocated. Great buy, love the shoes!

I have a narrow foot and normally I wear a 9 in shoes, but after looking over the sizing chart I ordered an 8/medium and they're a perfect fit! Stoked to get outdoors and explore in them!
