I recently ordered and received my 1st pair of LLBean Bean Boots and I cannot say enough good things about them. They are extremely well made, they are extremely comfortable and the customer service is above and beyond. If you are like me and look for and encourage products and companies with high standards, then LLBean is an excellent place to shop. I live in Atlanta so I got the 6" boots in size 7 (1 size smaller than I normally wear) and the fit is perfect. You will be comfortable with light to medium weight socks. I even tried them on with boot socks and the fit was super comfortable. I purchased them when LLBean had their 20% sale in October (as a birthday gift to myself) and I was afraid they would be backordered for months, but they arrived on time. I'll definetly get another pair in a different model during their next sale. I cannot wait to use my Bean Boots all winter long.

I love these boots! Quality construction and a perfect fit! I wear a 7.5 and needed to order a size 7! Have Bean's superior customer service help you with your size if you have any questions!

Ok, so I finally got to the age where I decided I could no longer go without these boots! I walk my dog for 1-3 hrs a day and many wet mornings. My feet stay perfectly dry! Trust the reviews when they say to buy a full size smaller, they are telling the truth! I am normally a perfect size 11 and I ordered a size 10 and they are perfect! I expect to enjoy these for many years to come...even bought my husband a matching pair and he was excited since he grew up on these!

Very happy with my 6" LLBean boots, they fit perfect - I wear a true 9 1/2 and ordered the 9's. They will fit perfect with a little a medium to thicker sock, which I wanted. I am going to purchase the fur inserts for colder and snowy days. Great fit and great look. Love them!!

These boots are the perfect shoe for a Pacific Northwest winter! The are super comfy and totally waterproof. Definitely pay attention to the sizing information when ordering these boots. I typically wear a 9.5womens, and I got a size 8. They fit perfectly with mid-weight socks.

I bought these in a whole size smaller than my normal, and they fit perfectly. I usually wear a 9 (9.5 in running shoes) and an 8 fits perfectly, with enough room in the toe box. I am pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are! I wasn't sure if I wanted these in an 8" height so I could get them with Thinsulate, because I'll mainly use them in the fall/winter with rain and snow. I bought the shearling cushioned insole, and the boots are a bit too snug with the insole. Perhaps I won't need the insole with my Bean wool socks, or perhaps the boots will relax a bit. Looking forward to seeing how they work out this winter!

I was hesitant to purchase footwear without trying on but these boots got such rave reviews, I couldn't resist. I wear 8.5 in shoes and 8.5-9.0 in boots. I ordered the Bean Boots in 8.0 and they fit perfectly.

Purchased because I was traveling to Chicago, South Bend and Green Bay all in one weekend and needed something that my feet would be comfortable in while walking everywhere all weekend. You know that episode on Seinfeld when Elaine ended up having to walk the city all night long and while walking she stopped all of a sudden because she realized how amazing her feet felt in some shoes or boots she purchased? That's me in these boots! We walked so much this weekend and just as I'm getting tired, I look down at my feet and smile because my feet would feel just fine. I can't wait for it to cool down here at home so I can wear them again.

After reading reviews online about sizing, I decided to try these on in-store, as I was skeptical about the size advice online. But it was right - I typically wear an 8 and went down to a 7. My feet fit very comfortably in a 7 with a pair of thinner weight wool socks, and a decent amount of room in the width and toe box for a thicker pair, also. I had heard that these boots may be stiff until broken in, or difficult to get on, but I didn't find that to be the case at all. My feet slid in easily, and the leather upper was surprisingly soft. I still plan to wear some thicker, over the ankle socks while I break these in to prevent chafing from the seams, but overall I was really pleased with their comfort out-of-the-box. I was also surprised by their weight. I'd heard these are very heavy and "clompy," enough so that I had considered buying a similar looking boot from another brand. Ultimately, though, I wanted the workmanship and durability of LL Bean, and these are manufactured near where I grew up, so I gave them a shot. And maybe the versions with the taller uppers are heavy, but these six inchers felt lightweight and easy for walking. My only wish is for a secondary pair of longer laces, as these are a bit short for my taste. Overall, I'm so pleased. These classics are exceeding my expectations!

I have been shopping with LL Bean over 30 years. After 22 years came back for another pair of 6" bean boots. We tried the 9 wide- a little too big then we exchanged for the 8 wide. Fit is perfect. The previous pair were size 8 regular and I can still wear them but they were getting too tight on my left foot. Problem solved with the new boots. As is the case with all LL Bean products the boots were very well made.- a special thank you to Rana who made my boots. A satisfied Bean gal in North Carolina. PS Thanks too to your customer service department for their assistance on this purchase.

I faithfully read reviews and any comments made by the company before ordering because I try to order my correct size so I don't have to return an item. (I must say, however, LLBean makes returns extremely easy). I have always worn a 9 or 9 1/2 and I therefore ordered an 8 planning to wear a fairly lightweight sock. I found the shoe arch was very uncomfortable and not in the right place for my foot. I ordered a 9 and they were immediately comfortable everywhere including the arch. I have walked over 10 miles in them the past week and they are the best. Sorry to add confusion on the sizing issue but if ordering down doesn't feel quite right don't give up.

I now have my 4th pr. of LLB boots! I am comparing this pair to my 8" black ones........ I can't see a 2" difference between the both of them??? My black ones were Much SOFTER leather then these are. It will take some doing to break these in. The brown leather is MUCH stiffer then the black leather ones on that end of it! I got my reg. size 10 w/the black ones as I use them mostly in winter w/heavier socks. So I got this pr., the brown 6" ones, in a FULL SIZE SMALLER then my reg. size shoe. I normally wear a size 10.......so I got these in size 9. I wore them w/a reg. pair of NON heavy socks when I first got them out of the package. They fit FINE!!!! I can wear these for this weather that we're now having........sometimes a bit of snow, and MOST times muck yuck weather w/ALLOT of MUD!!!! I have the muck yuk LLB/s too which I wear around to the stores, walking the dog etc. I got those in size 9 too. So the size 9, a WHOLE size SMALLER then my reg. size shoes, is GREAT if you want these for reg. every day use NOT NEEDING to wear a heavy pr. of socks with!!!! I did have a bit of a hard time getting my foot into these at first! I KNOW the Stiff leather on these WILL stretch w/time and breaking them in!!!!! When I got my black pr. this didn't happen....most likely b/c they ARE A WHOLE size BIGGER!!!! So for those who can't get their foot in these, as mine Nearly didn't do, this is probably the reason.....you get a WHOLE size down so it makes it harder to get your foot into them! BEWARE!!!! I was Determined to make it happen and did! As I've now worn these for NEARLY 2 days Straight on MANY kinds of surfaces, grass, SOLID concrete for OVER 7 hr., black top, etc. they ARE SUPER comfy!!!! The leather is getting less stiff! I've ALWAYS LOVED my other pairs of LLB boots! I LOVE these as well!!! I deal w/Chronic Nerve pain in my feet, and these do NOT HURT MY FEET AT ALL!!!! Just give it time to break these in and I KNOW YOU WILL LOVE THEM as MUCH as I DO!!!!!!

I'll make this short and sweet. I wear an 8.5 and have between a regular and wide foot. I ordered the 7 wide and they are absolutely perfect!! They have the perfect amount of arch support and did not make my feet hurt after wearing them for the first time for 10 hours. Just go ahead and order them already; you're welcome.

I've been wearing Bean Boots for about 40 years now. I bought the current pair about 15 years ago and they're still going strong. I ride horses and they are perfect for around the barn. I went on a 120 mile trail ride in Ireland a couple of years ago and wore them the whole way. It rained for at least a little while every single day. I think I was the only one in my group whose feet stayed dry they whole way!

I ordered these boots in November & they arrived earlier than anticipated, in January...since I have had them, I have worn them numerous times and I have never had a more comfortable pair of boots in my whole life. Unlike most footwear, these have a very generous foot box, perfect for extra socks. I normally wear a size 8 & that is what I ordered & still had plenty of room. I have highly recommended these to all my friends & family. They have been well worth the wait. It's so nice to see such quality & detail made in the US. Love them!!!'

I ordered these boots in September and received them in early November, just as they stated. I normally wear a size 6.5, but saw that they run big, so I ordered a size 6. They are perfect. They are just a bit big, but roomy in the toe box. I also put my own orthodiac in them, so it worked out perfect. I live in California, so we have no snow, but they work perfect for the rain and wet weather. My jeans fit nicely inside them as well. I am very happy with them, and I am sure they will last for many seasons.

I have been waiting to take the plunge on bean boots for a very very long time but they are always so back ordered. Finally bought them about 2 months ago and they just came in and I'm so happy! I ordered a half size up, as suggested, and they fit perfect. I can even wear super thick socks with them. They are a bit stiff so I know it will take a little breaking in for them to be super comfortable but they have the support that I need and want. Also, they claimed to be backordered to January when I ordered them in October but they came early (12/2) to my pleasant surprise!

I purchased these Bean Boots last year, and wanted to give them a proper trial before writing a review. I have put these boots through campus walking, numerous pheasant and deer hunts, and all the weather that SD could offer. I have to say, these have been my favorite boots I have ever purchased. I followed the sizing guide, so I sized down to a 7 as I usually wear an 8. It took no time at all to break them in (I wore them around campus with thick wool socks) and they just got more comfortable over time. I knew these were great boots when I wore them all day on opening day of pheasant season, through corn stalks, sloughs, and heavy brush and they felt amazing! I only have two downsides to share. The back stitching is beginning to fray a bit (which doesn't bother me too much) and with our strong SD winds, if you're not wearing wool socks your feet will get chilly! I noticed when I wore regular socks on a blustery day I could feel the wind in the shoe. I would recommend these boots to anyone who wants a timeless pair of comfortable boots.

I read the guidelines that you should order 1 size down. I read the reviews that you should order 1 size down. I am a consistent Women's 9. I thought I would be clever and risk it and order the 9. I live in Calgary and thought to myself I'll just wear thick wool socks and put fleece liners in and I'll be good to go. Nope!! They really are 1 size too big!! So I'll be getting the size 8 :-) And as for a comparison, in terms of height of the boot these 6" ones are exactly the same height as my Blundstones. Looking forward to getting the 8s, but now they are backordered - darn!! One question to LL Bean - why don't you just size them differently if you know they are one size larger, just a thought!

Very pleased to have bought these boots!! The leather is so soft!! I'm glad I purchased the heavyweight Bean's Boot socks to wear with them as recommended. I'm wearing these boots with skinny jeans and they look so amazing and feel great. Thank you Kathy and the boot team in Brunswick!!
