Fit perfectly with a thinner weight sock. I ordered one size down and the boot fits my foot. I was surprised that from the first time I put them on, they were comfortable all day. I went shopping and errand-running which ended up taking the whole day. I had a back-up pair of shoes in case they hurt but did not have to change. I like that the tongue of the boot is attached on both sizes--I could walk through a puddle or in snow without my feet or socks being wet. These are great boots.

I have wanted a pair of LL Bean boots for the longest time. But couldn't justify the price tag {or so I thought}. I recently caught a good sale and thought, "yes! I'm going to get them." They were everything I needed in a boot. Whether it's walking to the bus stop in the rain, traveling to the mountains when snow is on the ground or mucking it up on the farm, they have been worth every penny for the comfort of my feet. They have kept my feet warm and dry in every condition. Additionally, while being a solid boot that is very well made, they are not heavy on your feet. With other boots, my calves would tire after a few hours in them. LL Bean boots are comfortable and functional. I'm so glad I finally got a pair. Note: I typically wear a size 8 and followed the instructions to size down. I ordered a 7 and they fit perfectly with varying thickness of socks.

I have been wearing and loving Bean boots since my college days. I bought a pair for my teenage girl to wear in our Christmas pic....she LOVES them and wears them every chance she gets. They are perfect with jeans, leggings, dresses, etc...,,,she always wears them with boot socks. The boots look great, feel great....and how awesome is it that mother and daughter are wearing the same shoes? They do run large, so I ordered a half size smaller. Great purchase that she will enjoy for years to come.

So, I live in CA......And we don't have the weather like other places, but I just loved the look of these boots.....So I did it, I bought my first pair.....They're amazing!! I actually wear them for work, they're comfortable and simply just amazing. I get so many compliments on them too. I feel you can't go wrong with these, I actually just purchased my second pair.........

I'm hard to fit for shoes - most trips to a shoe store are very disappointing for me... the shoes will either push too hard in the back of my heel or squish my toes or not be wide enough across the ball of the foot. I ordered these with only a little hope they'd fit, but they are quite perfect. A bit roomy in the heel, but with the addition of an arch support insole and wearing thick socks they fit perfectly. The arrived last night and I took a five mile walk in them this morning with no pain anywhere (although it stubbornly refused to rain a drop!).

This is a great boot. I tried on many, many pairs of other brands and nothing compares to the quality, fit and classic style of the LL Bean boot!

If you tie these like a normal pair of shoes, they're not going to be comfortable. Keep the laces super loose. Google how to lace them for ideas. You should be able to just slip your feet in when it's time to wear them. If one of my fashion-wise friends hadn't told me all of this, I would have returned them because I didn't like how they felt on my ankles. Good to know!

First thank you Deb, she made my boots. Love these boot. Usually wear a 10 so I followed other reviews and order one size down (9) and I still have plenty of room to wear thick socks. I chose the unlined because I live in a mild climate area and this way I can make them warmer or cooler depending on the socks I wear or use LL Bean Sherpa boot inserts. I was on the fence about buying these boots thinking they may be for younger women but I am glad I did they look and feel great and I am thinking I should buy a pair for my 21 year old granddaughter. Bring on the rain!!

I usually wear an 81/2, and my foot is on the narrow side. I ordered an 8 regular and it is perfect.. I was thinking it might be cold without some kind of liner, but not so. Just walked around in 9 or 10 inches of snow for days and feet stayed warm and dry. Great comfortable shoe.

I have never been a "boot person" despite having lived in the snow belt of Cleveland for the majority of my life. I decided to splurge and buy a pair of bean boots and they are so comfortable and I cannot wait to walk my dog in the snow.

I love these boots. I bought them to walk around my campus in the winter but they have done so much more. I walked in the freezing rain without slipping and my feet stayed toasty warm. The hills of West Virginia were no match for these boots, and I was left with dry, comfortable feet while my friends complained about being cold. My advice to them: buy some Bean Boots!

I purchased my "Bean boots" in October 1989, and I am wearing them on my feet this rainy day. They've been through college, grad school, park time with toddlers, soccer pitches, football games, two hurricanes and a Michigan winter. I do not have the insulated version but these run so large that it's easy to wear with thick socks and liners...but I wouldn't recommend as "winter boots."

I was iffy on sizing and there isn't a bean store near to try these on, I normally wear a 7 1/2 so I decided to by the 7, they fit perfectly. I have a flat wide foot and the standard width are very comfortable. I can wear them with standard socks and thick ones and they fit perfect either way! Absolutely love them!

I love my boots! Glad I read the reviews before I ordered. I'm usually anywhere from 8.5 to a 9.5 (depending on width) and I'm so glad I ordered a size 8. Size 9 would have been way too big. I can even wear semi-thick socks with them.

Really enjoy wearing them. Look great with jeans. I ordered a size smaller than normal. I can wear thick socks with my size 8 boot. I usually wear size 9 shoe.

I've wanted these boots for so long, so, at 25% off, I finally gave in and ordered them. Ordered according to guide - I'm normally size 7 not-quite-wide, so I ordered 6 wide. When I first put them on with regular socks I was sure they were too large. However, when I tried them with thick boot socks (also l.l. bean) they fit perfectly! I wore them for hours on concrete floors and they were exceptionally comfortable. Not too hot and not too cold, felt incredibly cushioned. Haven't had to wear them in inclement weather yet, but I'm not the least bit worried. Thank you, Jennifer (don't know which Jennifer) for your amazing craftsmanship!!

Great boots but they do run big! I wear a size 7.5 - 8.0. I ordered a size 7 in these boots and still have some room. We got our first snow the day after these arrived and my feet stayed nice and dry!

I've always wanted to own a pair of these classic LL Bean boots and I finally pulled the trigger! My daughter owns a pair and loves them so I decided to purchase them as well and I'm so glad that I did they fit wonderfully and I'm so happy with them definitely follow the instructions as to sizing I'm glad that I did can't wait to wear them during the cold and wet North Fork Long Island winters!

I enjoy my LL Bean boots. Other than my former LL Bean purchases they are my third most comfortable shoes, once they are broken in of course. I wear them all day with no issue.

I haven't worn them yet (too warm). But they are a replacement for a pair I've had for years and years, and so I'm sure they will be fine.

I've been waiting to buy these boots for a while. I have some 20 yr old ll bean boots I bought from a thrift store, (20 years ago).... so they are older than that! They have held up wonderfully and I still wear them! I just wanted this shorter style to slip on and off. I leave the laces a bit loose so I can just pull em on. Busy mom of 7 kids and these are with every penny.

I have been wanting some Bean Boots for years, so I finally gave in and bought some. It was the best purchase I have ever made. Since I live in Texas I couldn't go to the store to try them on, so I was a bit worried about sizing. I am normally a size 7.5, so I went with the size 7 Wide. I have a thumb of room, but that's the way they should fit to allow air flow to keep you warm and the wide width is perfect for my foot. I was also unsure about the height, so I bought both the 6" and the 8". Being 5'3" I use the 6" more. I have stepped into water all the way up to where the leather is and my feet were still dry! BEST BOOTS EVER!

Love these boots for all outside jobs. Didn't even need to break them in. Worn with two pairs of socks they fit snug with no shifting. After years of service my last pair finally said enough. Had to get another and they haven't changed!

The smallest size before was a 6, which was too big for me, but I tried to make them work with layers of socks and inserts that didn't quite work. This year I saw that the size fives were back in the 8" and 6" boot. I was so excited because these fit my 6 1/2 size foot perfectly. I would have loved to have a wide width option in this size but unfortunately they only have mediums. The medium width is fine for my med to wide foot but extra sock space in width would be nice. Hopefully that will be an option in the future but for now I am super happy with my 6" bean boots!
