I was hesitant to buy these, but I heard so many good things about them, so i got a pair. These are seriously the best! They definitely run big, so you do have to size down (I'm normally an 8.5 or 9 in boots and I got an 8 and they fit with a little bit of room). I have worn these almost every day since I got them in the mail. They look great with so many outfits and I'm so happy to have warm feet this winter! They aren't great with thin socks because they are so roomy, but they are perfect with thick socks in cold weather. Wore these in the pouring rain while outdoors for multiple hours and my feet stayed dry and warm the whole time!

I typically buy my shoes in a size 9. From the chart and other sizing information, I decided to order a 9 in these boots. I don't usually wear incredibly thick socks so I figured they would fit fine. After trying them on they were way too big. So I tried them with thicker socks and they were still very large. I plan on exchanging for a smaller size because they are very nice boots with great quality and style.

I have always wanted a pair of LLBean boots.... but never had the courage to buy them. Price? Yeah, maybe...but...we were up in Madison, WI at the store and I tried on a pair. Loved them..bought them! I have narrow feet and had no idea they came in narrow sizes, but I also purchased a pair of the shearling insoles and they are a perfect fit. Warm and comfortable and very, very well made! Thanks to Pamela who made my pair! These will last for years! You will never be sorry you bought these...I know I'm not!

I've always loved the look and practicality of Bean Boots. I bought these for my wife for Christmas. She normally wears a 7 so we bought her a 6 and they fit perfectly. As with all high quality boots they have a break in period.

I like the boots but I wear a 6.5 normally. I got the six because the description said they would be really big, But they are not. I should have gotten a 7 to fit thicker socks. It is a struggle to throw them on quick to take the dog out. If you wear really super thin socks you can get them on faster. I am afraid I am going to rip the loop off the back to get them on. Once they are on they are comfortable and good in the rain. And I can walk around for long periods of time.

This pair of shoes is part of a long odyssey of finding waterproof shoes that don't hurt my feet. I have a foot that has been broken twice and it is a little bigger and wider than the other foot. So I write as a person who experiences difficulty with shoe purchases.
I walk 2-4 miles per day, going up/down an elevation of 720 ft. My walk takes 1-2 hours and the weather can change quickly. Often I will head up my mountain in sunshine, and when I return it's raining and water will have started pouring across the low point in the road. I was tired of my walking shoes getting soaked, so I determined to purchase duck boots for my walks.
I initially chose the LL Bean ladies hunting shoes, but they were too tight on my larger foot. I returned them and LLBean customer service helped me find the styles available in the wide sizes. This boot was selected next. Unfortunately, the boot still too pinchy, so I will return them and work with customer service to find my perfect boot.
I can say this: The construction of these boots is excellent. LLBean has a deserved reputation for quality craftsmanship. The boots keep water out. My socks were never in the least damp. And, the boots are beautiful. Everyone admired them.

Exactly what she wanted. I've had several men's hunting boots and they're the best for battling the elements. Perform just as advertised. The folks at LLBean made the pre-Christmas ordering smooth and effective.

After reading allll the reviews about this boot, I decided to order 1/2 size down from my usual 7.5 (8M in gym shoes and 7M in dress shoes usually). I got the boots, wore them for one day, and could not decide if they were the right fit. Fortunately I was traveling near an LL Bean store a week or so later so brought my boots in to get double checked on the size. I ended up going down to a 6M- As soon as I put them on I felt like my feet were being hugged, so I knew the size was right. So, make sure you have the right size! It makes all the difference. I also actually ended up going with the 6" bean boot with tumbled leather and padded collar for just a little less stiffness and protection of my ankle/lower calf from the elements. The shoe itself felt the same in both, however.
I would also like to note that the customer service at the store I went to (Old Orchard in Skokie IL) was FANTASTIC. The women in the shoe dept had been there I think a decade or more and was incredibly helpful and efficient, as was the man who processed my return and exchange. He even let me use an additional $10 off coupon I had received in my email after purchasing the first pair. Very happy with everything about these boots!!!

In shoes and boots, I am always either a 7M or 7 1/2M depending on style and brand. Going by the advice to order a size down, I first ordered a size 6 M as they don't make these in a size 6 1/2. The width was perfect, but the length was definitely too short in the toe to be able to wear a heavy sock. I held onto these, and then ordered a size 7M. Those were HUGE on me, not only too long but wide and loose on my feet even with heavy socks. So then I decided that since I live in Georgia, I would mostly wear my Bean boots for rainy weather, and a lighter weight sock would be sufficient. I sent the size 7M's back and kept the size 6M. I hope in the future that they will make 1/2 sizes in these boot for those of us who need something inbetween whole sizes. .

This is a good boot. Initially, I ordered a size down as recommended in the reviews. I, however, had to return this for a 7 which I found to be true to size in terms of length. The Narrow width I found to be true to size as well. Sure wish more boots and outdoor shoes were made in narrows. The boot is well made, comfortable, and no break in required -- wore them several days in a row after receiving them.

Finally got my Bean Boots that everyone else has had for forever! They feel like awesome, solid boots. I have a VERY high instep (the thickness of my foot from the middle of my sole to the top bone) and they were quite snug at first, but just a few hours of wear and they were fine. Bought the 7 as recommended for a typical size 8 and they're great. Overall very comfy. Bought them for job sites. Perfect for that! Also, had a mishap and ordered twice. Customer service was UH-MAZing on return for the second pair. Love the company and the boots! Thanks!

I typically wear a Women's 7.5, so I ordered an 8. It was a little big in length even with thick socks. So I exchanged for a size 7. While they are a little tighter width-wise than the 8, they feel a lot better/more secure. I have yet to wear them in a true NE winter storm, but I look forward to testing them out in the Tahoe snow and breaking them in (they are a little stiff to start)

I absolutely love my Bean boots! I ordered them 1/2 size smaller than my normal size after reading the info on sizing on the site. I wear them with thick socks. I also tied the strings in the Eastland knots. They are comfortable and great for wearing all the time but especially if the weather is wet. I am 61 years old and look really cute with these on with my skinny jeans! These boots are for young and old alike! Thanks, LL Bean, for a great product!

We have been getting a lot of rain over the pass years and these boots are our go to boots. There's no worry of your feet getting wet. They have enough room for thicker socks and super comfortable. And, get ready for compliments.

I wish I hadn't waitied so long to buy these classic bean boots. Last year I never pulled the trigger, and they were sold out buy the time winter rolled around. They are simply amazing. I wear a size 9 and sized down to an 8 in these boots, and they couldn't fit better.
To break in the leather, which is very stiff at first, I simply wore them around the house here and there and on short walks with my dog. I'm a high school teacher and on my feet all day, after 7 or 8 days of breaking them in for an hour here or there I wore them for a full day and they were perfect. I love these because they serve as either a rain boot with regular socks or snow boot with wool socks. They are lightweight and incredibly comfortable and sturdy.
These boots are a true classic, a handcrafted masterpiece!
