Have worn bean boots for over 30 years. Quality is still the same, except the laces seem to break more easily and the inner-soles wear out quickly. There was a time you could send them back for renewal, but not anymore. So, I buy a pair roughly once a year.

I normally wear a 10 1/2 D shoe but ordered a 9 per the recommendation. I received a 10 in error - too big. I exchanged them for the recommended 9 - too tight in the toe. The shoes are well made and service is very good but you really need to standardize your sizing. Several others made the same comment. If I was in the store I could try various options but I doubt the outcome would be any different.

I love the shoes, but ... My regular shoe size is 11 so, per instructions, I ordered size 10. Too big so I returned them for a size 9. Still too big but with inserts they fit fine. I don't understand why LL Bean doesn't just size them properly. Their size 9 should be labeled a size 11, etc. And it would be nice if they came in half sizes.

Sturdy and substantial. Does what I want, which is to slip into outdoor shoes when I take out the compost, etc., without having to sit down or put down whatever is in my hands. Down side is just how astoundingly huge these are. I normally purchase a 9.5 to 10 shoe and boot, medium width. It's actually difficult to walk in these because they're so loose.

After returning this twice for a smaller size we finally have a shoe that almost fits, it is still loose in the heel. It is 2 full sizes larger!

Quality of material was good, size is a little to big in length. The problem I have with the shoes is the holes where the tie string is inserted around the shoe we're punched to high and the leather string slips over the shoe next to my foot. I've included a picture.

I ordered these shoes the same size as a pair of LL Bean boots that I have. The boots fit perfect....the same size shoes are too big...even with a thick pair of socks...needed these shoes when they arrived so I wore them anyway...too late to send them back...but I really don't understand why they fit different than the boots.

The shoe fits nice except the heel is too large. Heels slip out of shoes with each step. Tried heel grippers, but that didn't work either! Thick socks help, but not comfortable!

following your recommendation for sizing - my shoes were too big. I went down to medium width and they fit fine. i was reluctant to order from you because you charge for return shipping when the product is the wrong size. all other internet sites provide free shipping- probably won't order from you again due to this extra charge for things that need to be exchanged.

Quality is great......fit is a problem. This is my 2nd pair and they still don't fit correctly.

My normal size is 10 1/2 but based on ordering instructions I ordered down to size 10. Boots are still a bit large but don't know if size 9 would be too small. Unfortunate that boots aren't half sized as well.

These are very large. Usually wear 10w new balance shoes, and do wear 9w bean boots, where I imagine the laces help, but had go down to 8w on these, and even then there's plenty of room. I leave laces just loose enough for slip ons and am happy with them so far . If you have access to a store best try them there or be prepared to return for different size.

The rubber moc is of very good material and truly waterproof. I have a EEE foot and the EE works well. My problem is I have a narrow heel, therefore once I buy a shoe or rubber moc for the width, the heel area is wide so there is some slipping. Also my shoe size is an 8 but in this style I had to order a size smaller.

I slipped the shoes on, felt really good sitting down, then I tried walking. It felt like I was wearing a pair of flip-flops, I just couldn't keep my heel inside the shoe. That's why they were returned.

I love the rubber Mocs. My last pair lasted almost 30 years. I wear 10 1/2 shoe but could not buy my size. Had to get size 11 and they're too big. I had to purchase inserts to keep them on my feet.

The mocs run very large, and so I had to send them back for a smaller size. They are still a bit big, but I can manage. They are good shoes for working in wet areas and/or where you need good grip on wet surfaces.

I am an older man (71) with very flat feet and a slightly misshapen left leg and foot. Normally I wear a size 12 of any shoe. So I ordered a 12. Way too long. Very well constructed, sheds water beautifully, keeps feet dry. But. Even with a heavy sock--which I always wear when I garden (roses and camellias and citrus)--they simply slipped down and off the backs of my feet continually.

This is the first time I have purchased this boot. I bought the shoes to work in the yard when it is wet outside. The only issue I had was one of size. I normally wear a size 11 or 11 1/2 for shoes and boots. I had to go down to a size 10 and even at that it is a bit loose. Other than the sizing issue, it is a comfortable and serving my purpose.

Perfect for running errands or working in yard. A little loose in the heel.

I had seen a friend wearing Bean Boots that he liked very much. I have problems finding comfortable footware so I ordered a pair especially since they were available in narrow width. I was somewhat disappointed to find that the current versions were no longer lams wool lined.

After reviewing comments regarding size, and asking for feedback from the person for whom these shoes were intended, I ordered the size recommended by the website. Should have gone with the size smaller, as even with "fat socks", these are too big. Will not return, as person for whom purchased says he will just wear 2 pairs of socks when wearing, but be advised that these really run big! Wish a half size option were available.

Really enjoy them. Easy to slip on and off but when I tried to adjust the leather strap it broke. Now one is longer then the other.

I look the look and feel of these, waterproof warm and best of all have a great casual look. My only suggestion is that they work on sizing. I typically wear a 10 in boots, I ordered a 10 in these and WOW, they were huge... I had to return them, the return process was easy, ordered a new pair then sent the old ones back in the packaging for the new pair. I got my money back a few days after. Ordered a 9 narrow this time and they are still about a half size too big, but I don't want to deal with returning a second pair. Got a pair of thicker socks and its been business as usual. Overall these mocks are comfortable, and I hope they last as long as my bean boots have.

My last pair finally fell apart after about 20 years. These new ones are just the same: well made and with plenty of room for thick socks. When the snow isn't deep, they're the perfect slip-on outdoor shoe as long as you snug them up with the laces. Otherwise I find them to be a bit loose. No big deal.

Similar to every other Bean Boot, read the reviews before you decide on a size. Long story short, I ordered 2 sizes down from my traditional shoe size and they fit well. My 7D is one size smaller than my lace-up 6" Bean Boots, but I do not wear the thick socks touted by LL Bean. As others mentioned, there is very little to hold your foot in these mocs, so it's important that they're snug right out of the box. With no traditional laces (it is possible to tighten these up some), these need to be as close as the same length as your foot as possible in order to keep them on when walking (particularly if you're planning to wear them with thin socks or no socks at all). That said, I really like slipping these on and off for walks with the dog, or going to and from work in the rain or light snow.
