This boot has so much potential to be a great shoe, but the fit is terrible. LL Bean say the shoe runs large, so I got the next lower size (no half-sizes available). The shoes are so small that my feet throb hours after taking them off. I hope they allow me to return them.

Based on a satisfying boot purchase about a year ago, I recently ordered, but then had to return, size 10 boots THREE consecutive times based on sizing issues. The boot build (aside from size) seemed good, but the size variations were very frustrating. (I followed the L.L.Bean sizing recommendations.) Customer service was helpful along the way, but they couldn't change the reality of the problem. I really wanted to like L.L.Bean boots, but I am exhausted by the experience and will find somewhere else to buy boots.

Usually wear a 9.5 medium width, ordered a 9 and it was too large, returned and based on website recommendation ordered an 8 and it was too small. These don't come in half sizes. Have never had a problem with fit with multiple LL Bean boots in the past. Construction was equal to other Bean boots, but very disappointed in this style.

I recently purchased the Mens Moc Boots. So far I have sent 2 pairs back in a row due to bad stitching on the inside heel area. I didn't expect this from LL Bean. I have been wearing these boots for years without any issues. Quality control must be getting bad. Please correct these issues. I simply don't have time to keep sending the boots back. Thank you

I'm on my second pair of size 9D rubber mocassins. The first pair I did not read fine print and ordered them 1 size too large. Sent them back and received the correct size. The first pair was fine and I wore the almost completely out when my new dog decided to play with one and ripped the leather top from the rubber. I had already ordered and received a new pair but was wearing the old ones as long as they held up. When I started wearing the 2nd new pair they eat my socks. No way to wear ankle socks with them because in a just a short time of walking my socks would be down around my toes. I put a second liner in them that helped a little but did not completely stop the problem. Don't know what happened to quality but really scratching my head if I want to spend that much money for shoes that eat my socks. I may order another pair and not have a problem but how do you know?

I wear a 10D shoe and ordered a 9D in this moc. Got it today and it was still to big and my heel would come out of the shoe when I walked. I am returning it and requesting a replacement with an 8D but I am concerned it will now be too small. This size discrepancy is so prevalent that LL Bean even notifies you of this when you order. I will probably return it and ask for my money refunded. This does not seem to be good business to me.

I ordered this product to replace the duck shoes that I have had for at least 15 years. I will be returning the product to my local store because it is nothing like the duck shoe that it would have replaced. The sole is similar but the leather upper is insufficient for outdoor use. Maybe it was not intended to replace the duck shoe but I did not see any alternative.

As instructed, ordered a size small. Still, the shoes were much too large. In addition, even with EE width, the toe box was uncomfortable. Rather than playing Russian Roulette on finding a comfortable size, I ate the $6.95 return fee and looked elsewhere for new shoes. Very disappointed, since I have had very good past experience with L.L. Bean, including foot ware. Don't understand how sizing can be so far off.

We're returned these boots and the ones I ordered for my wife. You should have them soon. Your warning that sizes are larger than listed is an understatement and misleading. The 10s didn't come near fitting even with two pair of heavy socks. We'll buy them at an LL Bean store, where we can get a proper fitting. Bean is so reliable in every other way that I wonder why you aren't more careful with these items.

First of all, as an active outdoorsman, I am and will continue to be an avid fan and loyal LL Bean customer. Their customer service is the gold standard all businesses would do well to follow. That being said, this particular shoe leaves much to be desired. I received these shoes as a gift from my wife. I have since returned them to LL Bean for a full credit refund. I won't get into the shoe sizing of this particular shoe as that issue is well documented. Beyond the aforementioned sizing, this particular shoe has two outstanding problems: 1st problem-The heel is far, far too narrow making the shoe very unstable. When I was wearing these shoes, my feet constantly felt like they would rollover on the next step. Just hold this shoe up at eye level and look at the back of the shoe...how could this shoe be stable given how far the heel is set in from the edge of the foot compartment?? When viewing this shoe from behind at eye level, the heel is so narrow and "out-of-place looking" that it just looks plain weird to me. Doesn't even look like the correct heel is on this shoe...looks like they accidentally installed the wrong heel. This is not rocket science, just common sense! At a minimum for safe stability, the heel width should be flush with the foot compartment of the heel. For absolute maximum stability, the heel should be even a tick wider than the foot compartment (as in western roper boots). Since many customers of this shoe probably buy them to wear outdoors in uneven terrain, one would think foot stability would be a foremost design criteria. Evidently, not so....I frequently wear western roper boots which are super-stable because of the flat, wider heel. No chance of ankle injury from rollover with ropers!...2nd problem-By design, the back of the shoe does not come up high enough to cover enough of the heel of the foot which lets your foot come out of the shoe a bit with each step, rubbing up and down your heel which could easily cause blisters over time. The problem is compounded by this basically being a slip-on shoe which inherently does not provide a snug fit, not to mention the generous sizing. This heel rubbing issue is exacerbated by the shoe lacing which does little to secure the shoe to the foot. The purpose of this shoe's lacing is basically aesthetic in nature with minimal contribution to function. Particularly for those that are outdoors-inclined, there clearly exists a need for a rubber bottom shoe, but when designing such a shoe, should not foot stability be at or near the top of the list of shoe design criteria?

I read the negative reviews about the inaccurate sizing but purchased anyway. Sorry I did. One size smaller was too large, two sizes smaller was too small, and there are no half sizes. So, if you regularly wear a 9.5 shoe, you should not buy this because no size will fit properly. I ended up buying a different shoe altogether but lost the 20% discount. All-in-all, a bad experience.

I wear a 13 1/2 EE. Ordered the 13 too big, sent for the 12 still too big. Just going to get a refund this time.
