The point where the sole and the heel rubber glue together has come apart on all my Old Skools. Didn't to that back in the day. I'm sure I'm a heel dragger to a point but its a design flaw to have the whole sole fall out the bottom from a glue seam. Super comfortable shoes but longevity is poor. The photo is of a pair that I continued to wear for yard work, but it shows the point of failure very well.

Prefer look of red tag vans. White stretch material isn't appealing, please make that black again. Great shoes to skate in for me personally.

Previous reviews said these ran small and to order the next size up and upon doing so I was disappointed to find those reviews to be incorrect. I had to return them for my usual size because they were too big.

I should of wore these at home before I wen't to my one college class! I've been wearing the same size Vans forever and sad these will kill my heel. Hopefully a heal guard will save this shoe. I was super excited for my first slip on shoe and to dedicate it to longboarding, as my other vans turn into formal wear. These can probably be formal too! Please fix the tightness of the heal. I feel like tight is goos so a slip-on stays on while skating, but I shouldn't bleed for it! :(

I'm not sure what happened with the new vans skate slip on. Seems like they changed factories. Not cushy or as comfortable as they used to be. Colors have changed from black to white on the inside and a couple other areas. Sole is different rubber has changed as well.

I've worn the same size Vans for 20 years and I could barely get my foot in these. The top of the shoe is so tight, I have to take the insoles out to just get my foot in them.

I haven't owned a pair of Van's since I was in my early teens. So when I got the chance to buy a pair since my converse had a blow out I was excited. My old skool Van's came in and I tried them. The top of my feet hurt so bad I know its because the shoes are very brand new and need to be broken in. I even bought my correct size so I know that's not the issue. I think when making the shoes at the factory they should keep in mind the people with fatter feet would like to feet into the shoes as well without the top of their feet hurting at the end of the day when trying to break in the shoes. If that changes I would leave a more positive review but for now this is my review. Amazing shoes just think of us people with fat feet. That's my small request.

The shoe looks great, but it has really high arch support. I tried breaking them in and still had pain after four weeks of skating. I switched out my sole from an older shoe that was flatter to this shoe which fixed the problem. however, if you're willing to possibly switch insoles with another shoe, the shoe skates great.

I've been wearing slip-ons for a while now. I have the comfy-cush, skate pros, classics, and now I've tried the new skate with the popcush inserts. For some reason the new skate shoes rub really badly on my heels unlike any of the others. Comparing them to the others, the only real difference I can see between the older skate pros and these is the width of the collar lining. The skate collar lining is slightly thinner. Other than that, everything else appears very similar, such as the thickness of the inserts and the material of the collar lining. My guess is the thinner width of the collar lining makes the seam hit the heel in a slightly different spot. Because I've had such great success with all the other varieties, I'm going to band-aid up my heels and wear these out walking for a bit and see if they loosen up enough to stop rubbing. All-in-all, not terrible, but not my favorites.

The shoes are great, however I was trying to buy them with the $25 off when I spend $75 and due to some technical issue I was never able to get my $25 off. Very disappointed I was stuck buying a lot of shoes at full price and didn't get any money off. Not sure it's a scam I tried multiple times until the shoes are disappearing and I had to buy them or not get them at all.

These run super small. Going to try a full size up. I’m normally a 10, going to try an 11.

I ordered it for casual use, not for skating. Just liked the color combo. The added cushion on the insole made the shoe feel tighter than normal compared to other similar vans shoes ordered previously. The insoles are removable, so I purchased some less-thick ones and replaced them. Also, the shoe will definitely need some breaking in or be worn with thick socks, as I got immediate blisters on the back of my ankles. Tried it the first time with no-show socks which turned out not to be a good idea. Only used once so far, but the construction does seem more durable than the regular slip-ons I purchased before. Seems like it can handle slight more than casual use.

I bought these after being told by the sales person that they were exactly like the classics with a better sole, theyre stiff as a rock and the the back of the shoe rubs your achilles tendon like crazy. Stick with the classic slip ons..

I bought these back in October 2025 as my final failed attempt at finding a Vans replacement for my comfycush slip ons that I wear around the house (Vans has inexplicably retired comfycush). I had previously tried the Asher model but the footbed, particularly on the front half of the sneaker, was so thin that it hurt the bottoms of my feet after an hour or two - and yes, I tried 3rd party inserts but they didn't help. The skate model is much more comfortable, almost comparable to comfycush BUT these sneakers absolutely destroyed my heels. I like to wear no-show/below ankle socks and ended up with bleeding heels. I thought maybe I needed to break them in but after several weeks and a box of bandages later, they're still literally a pain to wear.

I've always worn Vans, I bought these hoping for more durability. They may be more durable but the larger insole mixed with the stiffer body, and no additional internal space made for a terrible fit. The stiffer back gave me a blister after 20 minutes, with winter socks between. I'm returning these and will be sticking with the classics.

I've purchased Vans slip-ons for years without any issue and wanted to try out the skate version for the more durable skate construction and the Pop Cush insoles. It seems like they designed the fit like the other slip-ons but didn't take into account for the thicker insoles. It was very difficult to put on and when I did get them on, there was a lot of pressure on my instep. After taking the insoles out, they fit like a glove. I'm hoping with wear, the canvas and elastic stretches out so I can put the insoles back in, but I can't recommend them out of the box for anyone with a higher instep.

Has a lot of padding for the memory foam base and it makes the shoe incredibly tight! Had to return them unfortunately

Been wearing the classic slip ons for years so I decided to upgrade with these. They are the most annoying shoe I've worn. The back of the shoe opening is uncomfortably rigid and has been rubbing a blister into my Achilles tendon. Gotta wear bandaids anytime I want to wear this shoe. Also, for whatever reason, my stance no show socks are constantly being pulled under my heel with this shoe. Never happens with the original slip ons.

I've been wearing nothing but the same Sk8-Hi and slip-ons for the last 20 years or so, buying the same shoes once a pair wears out. They used to be great. Nowkinda hit or miss.
I got these slip ons thinking they would be more comfortable than standard ones. Wore them one time for about an hour and had to kick em off before they destroyed the skin on the back of my heels. I was wearing socks.
I'll probably try manually breaking in the heel before I wear them again, not the first time I've been through this with Vans, but it's nice when they just work out of the box.
As far as style, that's why I keep buying em. They look great and fit the bill for what I'm after. But it seems they've been value engineered to death and consistency/quality can vary even within the same model of shoe.

I bought a pair of the black suede slip-on. The quality of the shoe is really nice, but the fit is awful. They are absurdly tight, especially in the toebox. I've tried wearing them on and off for months. Take them out on MTB rides, long walks with the dog, etc, but they are tight as day one. Bit of a bummer

Really bummed about these. I've been wearing slip-ons my whole life. In recent years I had switched to the comfy cush inner sole, which I absolutely loved for all-day comfort. When I learned comfy cush was discontinued, I did some research and found that people recommended the popcush sole as an alternative. I ordered a pair in my typical size 6 and was shocked at how tight they were. I could barely put my foot in them. The canvas upper was so tight, the fit didn't account for the thickness of the popcush sole whatsoever. I ended up ordering a second pair in a 6.5 to see if it was roomier, but had the exact same issue. It's such a shame. Really bummed these didn't work out and not sure how I'll wear slip-ons anymore.

I've had slip-ons for years and wanted to try something new, so I got these. I like that they're made for skating so they have different fabric and more cushion. However, these shoes are squeezing the life out of my feet. I didn't know they would be so tight. I would say I have wider feet than average, so if you don't have slender feet, please be ware. I'm wearing the same size I've always had and I'm not sure if going up a half size or full size would help. Pretty bummed since I really like these shoes, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to wear them long term. I'm doing my best to "break them in," but it hurts a bit too much to wear for long periods of time.
