I ordered this hat after falling in love with the Cricket hat thinking that I'd use this one while going to amusement parks where I thought the smaller brim would be more conducive in crowds and shows. It doesn't work as well for me because the flap makes my neck get extremely hot. Admitted, I am in FL so it is very hot anyway. But the flap prevents air from circulating around my neck and bottom half of my head and it just gets too hot. I always want to take it off. I don't like the way it looks with the flap rolled up. So I always go back to my Cricket hat and I have even ordered the Charter hat and prefer that as well.

I have 2 of these hats: a blue one for working and a white one for when I travel. Both are EXCELLENT at providing protection from sun. The strap is a MUST - otherwise the hat would quite likely blow away either when I'm mowing, standing on the deck of a cruise ship, hiking a mountain, etc. I would highly recommend this hat to anyone who spends time outside and wants protection from the damaging rays of the sun. For the record, I also bought one of these for my reluctant-to-wear sun-protection husband and he wears his when he's mowing.

This hat has held up in so many situations whether hiking, playing a sport, or just walking. Wind is not a problem and it washes up very nicely and dries to its normal size.

I don't enter a pool without my Adventure hat! I've taught swimming over 44 years outside and have tried every hat I could find. Sunday Afternoons has the best! Great sun protection, water resistant, color fast - comfortable - many dads ask where I got it - they want it for outdoor jobs & sports. Outstanding product!

I like the way the brim covers the side of my head as well as my face. The brim will not flip up when facing into the wind . Really good overall coverage in a hat that rolls up and fits in your pocket. I am happy to have discovered this hat while walking in northern Alaska, of all places, and I am looking forward to trying other models that I'm seeing in the catalog I received. Thanks for a well made and well designed product.

Great idea, look good, but you may have to continually adjust the temples for a while to get a comfortable fit as well as freeing up bridge pressure. Cleaning cloth is in the bottom of the glass case & is black, so it might be difficult to find immediately; feel it should be packed together with sunglassess in plastic bag.

I have two Adventure Hats, keep one in the car and one at the house. I wear it when I am outside and working in sunny conditions, mostly gardening or whenever I have to be outside in the sun for any length of time. These hats protect the face and neck well. They also shade the eyes but sunglasses should also be worn to protect the eyes. In high wind conditions the chin strap may not prevent blow away and you may have to hand hold the chin strap. It is easily washable. With a little care, it will last you a long time.

This hat does exactly what you want it to do. It keeps the sun off your face, ears and neck and keeps you cool while you do it. I'm not sure I'll win any fashion awards, but when hiking trails all day in the mountain sun, there is no other hat that I've found to be as effective... and I've tried a lot of wide-brimmed hats. I'm glad I found this one.

So I have been wearing the adventure hat as it is called for maybe 7 or 8 years. During that time I have aged from being a young 30 something to a young 40 something. I bought the hat because I sweat like no other and the notion that sunscreen would stick was overly optimistic. So I took to wearing this hat which is large enough it is popular with all the grey doves on the trail. As for me, I have received many looks figuring I was a senior. Even though it looks a little goofy it is a great hat for keeping the sun off you and I wouldn't be caught up above the trees without it!

I use this hat everyday to deliver mail in Arizona. I love the sun coverage it provides. I purchased a large, thinking I would need the additional space to put all my hair up inside, however, they must run a little big, because I have trouble keeping it on. Next time I will purchase a medium. Overall, I would recommend to anyone looking to keep the sun off your neck and face.

I use this hat when working outside, gardening, fishing, and hiking. I like the draw-strap which keeps it from blowing off, and also the ventilation helps keep me cool. I also like that it is lightweight.

I wear one of these hats year round when I am outside. I keep 2 in the car, one by the barn, one on the porch, and one by front and back doors. I need to wear one outside in Arizona, and when rushing outside to take care of an animal problem, I sometimes forget, so I have one handy to grab before the sun gets to me. When I am in town, I get lots of comments about the sun protection and am asked where to get one. I show them the label or write the website down. I even wear one under my riding helmet since the largest won't fit over it. I love the big brims even if they do catch the wind, I do use the stampede string!

I've been wearing the hat for 2 years. It does a great job of keeping the sun off, but frankly I always feel self conscious in it - it's odd looking. You definitely need to use the chin strap when it's windy, it "magnifies" your voice to your own ears, and I wish the sweat band came out for easier cleaning. My next had will be the Sport Hat.

Discovered the wonderful qualities of this hat in the garden. Can't stand sunblock, and this hat has allowed me to garden for hours without burning my face or neck because the large floppy brim and protective cloth neck piece. Decided to wear it on the 6 mile walk/run I do 3 days a week along the ocean and it's a winner! The tie keeps it snug on my head when it's windy. Didn't think it was terribly stylish, as much as totally functional, but I've got to say I've been walking the ocean side Haul Road for over 20 years and never have I received so many compliments and envious looks with any other hat. Love it!

This is the best designed sun hat on the market and offers the best coverage, comfort, and range of use. I had one for years, which I lost and replaced. The older version had an adjustable headband, so I could adjust the tension for comfort or tighten it when windy. Now, there is an elastic which I can't loosen when I want the hat to sit lightly on my head, so I recommend buying the largest size, you can always tighten the headband as the adjustment clasp is still there.

Great hat overall. Brim bends easily and doesn't reshape.

This hat has great SPF protection. It looks a little goofy but gets the job done. I wear it when I go walking to protect the color on my hair.

We bought this hat for my husband on Father's Day, in anticipation of his trip down the canyon. Very breathable and excellent sun protection, especially for his neck.

Wore this hat on a vacation to Kauai. Wore it hiking and kayaking; it got squashed, trampled on, and soaked in water but retained its shape through it all, and gave me excellent sun protection.

I've been wearing these hats for 10 years; love them, but...The problem is the plastic tube along the brim edget which holds it stiff. If it bends at all it becomes destablized and the hat shape begins to deteriorate quickly. I think it's time to find a material that bends and reshapes itself -- this would make it possible to roll and unroll the hat, etc. In addition, it begins to poke out of the material -- both ends of the plastic tube are sharp! Time for a next gen fix!

These are great hats. I started wearing them a few years ago. I have tried a lot of sun hats, and these are the best. I wear them for running as well for as general outdoor use. They are ok in moderate wind, if cinched down. As style goes, they aren't bad, considering, well, it's a big sun hat.

I love this hat because it keeps the sun off my face and the back of my neck. It has mesh areas around the top that lets the heat out and keeps my head cool. I like the way it folds up and can be stored in a small pouch. I love everything about this hat, except for one thing. After one use, the chin draw string came detached on one side. I intend to return the hat and ask for a replacement.

This is a much better value than the last summer sun hat I bought from a competitor (Solumbra). The fabric is a bit stiff and the style a bit dorky, but I don't care! It protects even the point of my nose from the sun and the chin strap keeps it from blowing off in the wind. I couldn't wear it in the summer sun and heat without the mesh and the sweat band. If possible, I'd like even more wicking and breathability. I'll be back for more next summer!

I like the style and the function of the adventure sun hat! It's great for gardening and running around after kids at the playground. I'd like to use it for travel next year as well!

Yes, it's dorky, but it's very effective. The brim stands up to wind. I know we're supposed to hand wash it, but I wash it in the machine and air dry without problems.
