We purchased 5 Sunday Afternoons Adventure hats in June just before we traveled to Tanzania for a photo safari. My son who lives out of town bought a 6th sport hat. We learned about your company from someone we saw at the beach in San Francisco wearing what we thought would be a perfect hat for our trip. It was. We truly enjoyed and used your hats every day. They were perfect for our travels, light, easily foldable, cleanable, packable and superb protection from sun, wind, rain and bugs. One of the safari guides even noticed that we were all wearing matching hats. I highly recommend these hats to anyone who is thinking of traveling to Africa -- or anywhere that has sun. We will now use these hats for those sun outings at home and up at Lake Tahoe. Thank you for your great product.

I have been wearing this hat for 10 years. The first two I bought came with a decorative scarf around the top of it and was very pretty. Since they discontinued the decorative scarf, I still love the hat, but it's not quite as pretty. Still functions great, although I don't think they hold up quite as well as the earlier versions did. I wear this hat all summer long- gardening, traveling, etc. It's the best sunhat for an active person.

This is an amazing hat! Light weight and doesn't make my head a sweaty mess. I would highly recommend for anyone spending extended time in the sun. Thanks Sunday Afternoons!

Well, after 7 years of hard gardening in every kind of condition including covered with mud while wrestling tree stumps and literally wearing it every day in all conditions including shoveling snow at subzero F (with a wool cap tucked underneath) and all evening to block mosquitoes from biting my forehead,neck and ears as I cooked, cleaned and worked at my computer, it is looking slightly too grubby to wear to the big city. A full frontal attack on a blackberry patch snagged a spot on the left side leaving a tiny snag; and a wild morning stoking a sparky fire scorched a tiny spark hole in the back. The one I have now is ready to just work at home. No stitches have come loose; strap, lining and sweatband are still firmly in place and functioning, but some extreme substances have worked their way deep into the fabric that a gentle hand washing with Ivory soap flakes will not dissolve. Further, I am chemically sensitive, react strongly to polyester contacting my skin, and have never had a problem wearing this hat, including all night while it kept mosquitoes of my face while sleeping. I had a bad case of sunstroke as a teen, and this hat has kept me comfortable in conditions that would have felled me before I had it. The tan color is companionable with all colors. I have neighbors who have never seen me without it even after dark. The first was a Birthday/garden gift from my late mother, this next one is a 65th Birthday gift from my husband. Send me business cards and I will hand them out for you!

Amazing hat! I bought mine for use while Kayaking, but it's my go-to hat for all outdoor activities. We can kayak all day long in full sun and I never need any sunscreen on my face or ears. This hat provides perfect shade from the hot sun. The light-weight fabric makes the hat very cool to wear. I hate wearing hats. But I LOVE this one! I ordered my husband one of his own.

Great little sun hat. My friend has one and I thought it was so cute that I just had to have one! Love the big brim. Shades my whole face and covers my ears and back of my neck. Flap in back can be worn up or down. Chin tie is handy for windy days. I thought the hat might be hot and heavy as it's big but that was not the case. I was out with friends and wore it and they were all complaining about the hot sun, but I felt cool. Also it's light enough that it doesn't crush your hair and give you hat head. I have had two serious skin cancers on my face and own many hats with SPF but this one is my favorite. Another thing I find important is that it lays flat for easy packing. You can't do that with a straw hat, so it's one l less thing to carry. It's always by my door so I can toss it on even for a trip to the main l box.

The most fabulous hat in the world. Somebody stole my last one. I am 96, ride a scooter to walk my dogs, and this hat gets many compliments as we walk. I need no sunglasses,the brim shades my eyes just right. It's cooling in the summer and keeps my head warm in the winter. Fabulous and superb looking hat.

When in the High Sierra back country, this hat is the BEST. Stays on my head in high winds. Protects my face, ears, nose, and neck from the sun. Keeps the ol' noggin cool when the air is hot. Most highly recommended.

Just got mine. Five hours lake fishing on a 100+ degree day. Cool head the whole time. Caught my biggest fish. My new favorite (lucky) hat!

Yet again another wonderful hat by Sunday Afternoons! I got this hat because being one who has fair skin I get burned quite easily. The Adventure hat provides ample sun protection allowing for me to not worry about my neck and face getting scorched by the sun. This hat is very comfortable as the back is elastic allowing for a generous amount of different head sizes it will fit. A nice feature I enjoy about this hat is that if you do not want the neck shade down you can fold it up and secure it with a hook and loop type material. Over all I love this hat and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a stylish and comfortable hat that provides wonderful sun protection.

I am a painting contractor and I love this hat. My fellow works laughed at first. Then they took notice when i used it day after day . It keeps me cool and stays on in all weather conditions. I also use to to pressure wash and it keeps water out of my face and from running down my neck. It is covered in overspray and has stain drips all over it, and wont get rid of it. I washed so many times and it is still in excellent shape. Perfect outdoor protection for all climates.

Mine is easily a decade old and still looks exactly like the one in the photo. I got it at REI in PA. These days I live on a farm in Nevada, in the Lahontan Basin - even the enhanced UV at 4000' above sea level hasn't touched it.

This is the best hat I have ever encountered for backpacking in sunny climates. For backpacking, it is light, vented, stiff brim in the wind, flexible over the neck so it doesn't hang up on your backpack, etc. In addition, it also folds FLAT for packing, which is awesome. I've been wearing them for years, and they are worth every penny. Note that they come in sizes and colors too. Way to go, Sunday Afternoons!!!!!!!!

I'm a guy and I work outdoors in Florida. This is the second Adventure hat that I have bought from SA. My old one is at least three years old and worn every workday and still in good shape. The new one is a different color. Quality and durability is great while offering outstanding sun protection. The Best Sun Hat I've ever owned. Highly recommend !!

I bought my first to use down swimming in the river. It is lightweight, very comfortable, blocks the sun well, and is easy to cinch down for the moments I flounder going over the rocks. I bought my 2nd to use while hiking. I love the long back to keep high country sun off my neck in the summer. I bought my 3rd, well, just cause I couldn't resist!

I just got back from a car-free two month stint in Biloxi, MS. The Adventure Hat was my daily companion as I walked many miles in the bright, hot sun. For environmental, health, ethical, and financial reasons, my wife and I have been car-free since June 2011. Sunday Afternoon Hats will definitely continue to be our hat of choice for daily walk commuting needs. This week in fact, I purchased an Oregon Cloudburst Hat to enable umbrella-free walk commuting in wet weather!

I have had adventure hats for over 10 years. I have lost a few but I have finally worn one out after 5 years. I wore it in a pool:( I am sad that you no longer offer my favorite purple shade. I have had people refer to me as "the lady in the purple hat". I will be the lady in the black hat until you get my purple back. Love your hats!

I work outdoors and it's the perfect hat for sun protection. I Would recommend it!!

I am up in years, but still walk every day. I am most concerned about sun and skin cancer. My new Asventure Hat gives me complete shield over eyes and sides - lovely wide brim, but still have complete vision all around. Wish I could tell everyone how good this hat is - maybe this will get read. I shall recommend this hat to all I know - I live in a Senior Apartment, and I know the ladies would love this - so I shall wear this every day, and I know I shall be asked where I got it. Don't laugh, I am wearing it while I type, as I am tickled pink" with it. !!!"

I've purchased the Adventure Hat twice for husband and he loves this hat which is why he has two of them! It is attractive, comfortable, very light weight yet provides him with excellent protection from the sun. It is adjustable in size around one's head and you can also velcro up the neck flap if you wish. With the chin strap, you can relax and not worry about the wind blowing your hat off your head even during a brisk walk along the beach! This is a great hat and is well worth purchasing! I've tried many hats and Sunday Afternoons Adventure hat is the gold-standard...that no others I've found meet. Good looking, great sun (and rain) protection, and comfortable. I've had people come up to me and ask me about it...because they liked it so much.

I liked the hat for going to the beach and doing garden work. It offers the coverage needed for people with sensitive skin that are prone to sunburn.

Both of my kids (4 and 2) have the kid's version of this hat and LOVE it...they wear it all the time and never pull it off. Now, I'm buying one for my mom, who has terribly sensitive eyes and wears those black wrap-around glasses. I'm sure she'll love it!

Recently completed a 2 day river trip with a bunch of girlfriends on the Wild and Scenic part of the Rogue River. We all had ordered the Adventure Hat to wear under our River Helmets. It was GREAT! Got the complete sun-protection needed and kept our hunky guide happy cause we kept our helmets on too!
