No need to break them in. They fit right and first use was a 10 mile hike. My feet were not wore out.

I just purchased my yet another pair of these boots. I have lost count on the exact number. I have worn each pair totally out, which takes a lot of miles. There is no break-in- right from the box they are comfortable and stable. I do a lot of off trail hiking and these boots have proven themselves regardless of the terrain or weather. No leaks in wet and comfortable Year round. Highly recommended!

This is my second pair. They break in quickly and last many years through hard use.

Had these for a couple of months. I have plantar fasciitis and these are very stable and had plenty of room for my orthotics.

I don't carry a heavy pack on mountain hikes anymore but I use the solid support and exceptional stability built into these Quest 4 boots to overcome severe arch, ankle, and neuropathy problems so I can continue to be active outside. They are durable and comfortable with enough height in the toe box for custom orthotics. I keep two pairs - one for casual/dress and one for work in the yard. They are the most stable boots I've ever worn.

Perfect fit right out of the box. Trained for about three hours running over uneven terrain with no issues. No hot spots much less blisters. The support is incredible. I highly recommend these boots.

I'm happy with the support for my ankles. The soles give secure footing.

This is my third pair over the years. They're very confortable and supportive, although over time and miles the leather near the toe does seem to eventually separate from the sole.

Years ago, I developed plantar fasciitis from too much hiking, and I searched for hiking boots to help. I read an article about these boots being the best for plantar fasciitis, bought them and have worn nothing else since. I usually get about 1,200 miles (about a year) on a pair before the heels start to wear out (and yes, they did warrantee a pair because they wore out before 2 years). Once the heels wear out the boots become my yard boots and last a couple more years in that role. Since wearing them, I have had no foot problems. By the way, I'm 6'2" and 240 lbs. and over 65.

I had this same boot from a few years ago. Due to some growing bunion issues, I can no longer wear those boots as the toe box is too narrow. I rolled the dice to try these ones, figuring it was the same model and probably wouldn't work. But thought I'd give it a try as some reviews mentioned a wider fit and price was right with easy return policy. To my pleasant surprise, these fit like they were tailor made for my foot. I didn't lace them super tight in toe box or really anywhere in the lower, and didn't need to with the new activsupport chassis wrap. The only one I laced tight was the bottom eyelets on the upper. This worked perfect on a 6 mile test hike up (and down) a steep grade with a 30lbs weighted back. My feet felt like they were wrapped in a perfect fitting protective glove the whole time. No foot pain anywhere, which is saying a lot, considering most shoes I currently wear hurt my feet after even short lengths of time in them. Am stoked I don't have to retire from Haleakala backpacking missions!

The boot had little to no break-in period and the ankle support is excellent. It's just comfortable, sturdy, and does well on slippery terrain. I have put a lot of mileage on them and it holds up. It's the premium boot worth the cost.

This may be the 10th pair of these boots that I've purchased and I've never been disappointed. I'm sure I'll have several more pair in my lifetime.

This is now my third pair of Quest 4 boots and I absolutely love them. They take quite a lot of use and abuse from my hikes and rambles and I have always found them very comfortable right from day one. They are very hard wearing, as a good pair of boots should be.

I bought these for waterproof, motorcycle touring boots for a 10 day off road trip in northern Vietnam. Every day they alternated between ankle deep in water, and covered in mud. A quick rinse, and they were ready to go again the next day. Never detected any leakage. They required virtually no break in time. I went for a couple of evening, 5K walks, and never had any rubbing or discomfort.

Bought these for hiking but also wore them for a week at Disney World. Walked about 10 miles a day and even in the hot humid Florida hear my feet never hurt. Highly recommend these boots for either hiking or concrete walking. I have wide feet and these are very comfortable.

Been using Quest 4s for over a year and just bought two new pair. I loved the Quest 3s and love these too. I have the flattest possible foot and shopping for any shoe/boot can be a pain but Quest 4s are the real deal. Whether I'm hiking, working, or even just going to the store they're such a comfortable and supportive boot that doesn't kill my feet at all. I've taken them from Hawaii to Florida to Colorado. Between climbing hills, music festivals, ect they're just so amazing. Of course everyone's feet are different but these are just such an essential part of my life.

I actually love the locking eye on the last loop I find if I lace to the top first then to the last and lock the lace and tie on middle loop it reduces Achilles strain on downhills yet stays tight on ankles. One year in still love it. And got me up kahtadin, and a presidential traverse. Will buy another pair

Got These boots in the mail yesterday and had to put them on right away. First impressions are high. Got them for a trip to Iceland and think they are just what I was looking for.

I have used these boots on very steep hilly trails, in the middle of mud and dry land. carrying 25 pounds on my back for 3 hours and these boots have given me the confidence to push myself to the limit with complete safety and confidence.

I got these about a month ago and did a couple of easy to moderate hikes. A couple weeks later I wore them hiking in the Grand Canyon. They took me 24 miles with 6000 feet in elevation loss and gain over three days of hiking. They performed great! I might take a half size down from my normal size next time since my toes floated around a little, but they performed great overall.
