You sent the wrong item. You would not do an exchange but made me wait for a complicated return. So I bought the same boot from a third party. You should simply your return policy for better business. Great boot. Bad service. Thsnks

Had two pairs of these boots in the last two months. I warrantied them both at the retailer with the same issue and ended up going with a different brand in the end. The toe piece would separate from the main body within the first few days of hiking. Ive seen this same issue in the comments quite a bit. I had the generation before this model for eight years and wore the tread off the boot before anything failed. Disappointing. Bring the old model back.

Durable, smart design, comfortable.
Dry cool dogs even after a long hike.
The lace hook that let's you adjust tension between the foot laces, and the above ankle laces is a great design feature. I can't believe this isn't used on every boot, it's that good.

Only have 35 miles on them since purchase 9/12/24 date. But so far so good with average backpack weight of 30 lb.'s. Very stable over uneven terrain

Customer service not willing to assist despite having worn the boot fewer than twenty times.
The boots are comfortable, but like others mine have delaminated at the toe rubber.
Im no longer within the warranty window due to how infrequently I hike, but Im deeply disappointed that the boots aged so poorly despite the very infrequent use.
Attempts to reason and work with customer service were met with futility. At least they sent me a PNW based cobblers information! Too bad Im based in NY.

The shoes have held up very well even after putting a 1000 miles on them. Sole wearing is expected after that much distance. Shoes have held up great. Offer good support.

I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this product. I am a former U.S. Army Special Forces operator and swore by Salomons ten years ago. I wore the same pair of X Ultra 4's purchased in 2012 through SUT, Robin Sage, and my first deployment, putting hundreds of miles on them in rugged terrain with 100+ pounds on my back. I only needed to purchase new X Ultra 4's because the boot treads were worn down to nothing.
Things have obviously changed.
I purchased these Quest 4's for a Backpacking trip coming up to the ADK High Peaks. I wore this pair daily to break them in for about a month, just walking around work, nothing strenuous. I just got back from my first hike with them, a training ruck in a local State Park, around 6 miles with weight on my back, and noticed the rubber toe protection peeling off already. This is not the quality that I expect from a boot as expensive as this. It's a stark contrast from my previous experiences with Salomon.

After less than 1.5 years and less than 100 miles. There is already a large (~1 inch) bit of tread breaking off and the sides are showing signs of wear. They are pretty comfortable but in the $250 range I would expect at least a bit of wear before they just fall to bits. Especially considering my cheapy columbias outlasted them by years and 100 miles or so...
Most of my hiking is done in the Texas Hill Country and Summit County of Colorado. Not what I would call "extreme" or even "severe" terrain...

I originally bought these for backpacking in the summer, but they quickly became my favorite early season hunting boot as well. They are lightweight and breathable compared to a larger leather boot and are great under weight and on unstable ground.

Have an older pair of quest 4s but they're starting to wear out. Replaced them with these in the same size and the will not stop giving me blisters on my heals, no matter what I do, even wrapping my heals with moleskin won't stop it. So disappointed I can't wear a very expensive pair of boots. Wish I could get a pair of the old design

I bought these for a hiking trip last year and really wanted to like them. Unfortunately while my left foot was very comfortable, my right experienced strong discomfort (borderline pain) at the inside arch. I don't know that I have ever worn a shoe/boot that had such a big difference in comfort between my feet. I have seen at least 1 other review mentioning this exact issue.

I have been wearing this boot for the last five years. Whether it's normal hiking, rugged trails and even snow shoeing. It's my favorite boot. I'm a permanent nomad and hike throughout the US.

There is a reason why this boot gets so many accolades. It is tough and torsionally very stiff, which will save your ankles on the worst of trails. The only issue is that the difference in flexibility between the forefoot and the rest of the boot is too great. The forefoot flexes too much and has too little cushioning for this boot to work on alpine trails or as a hunting boot on steep terrain. You simply can't hold yourself up by your toes in this boot and that results in fatigue over time on tough rocky terrain. Also while the outer edge of the forefoot has a strong rock plate the middle does not to the point that you can poke the sole with your finger and feel it inside the boot. This is also not so good for rocky terrain as you feel every rock and can't hover over rocks. In addition, the heel to toe drop is significant and puts more pressure on your toe joints which again over time hurts on long, rocky, and steep trails. The rest of the boot is incredibly stiff and is the only boot that I now trust not to roll my ankle on SW rocky Mt. backpack trips. Solomon, please increase the cushioning and rock protection of the forefoot area and reduce the heel drop. Or, simply make us a even beefier mountain boot!

I and two others bought these to hunt elk in. They all three began to leak after a year of hiking in Colorado. Hiking through grass, wooded areas, and rocky trails. We got new pairs through the warranty program and the warranty pairs also leaked.

I bought these boots in prep to hike Kilimanjaro and I really wanted to like them. The left foot felt great but the right foot had a huge issue at the inside arch and the sole which was really difficult to ignore. They held up well in the weather but the fit was a big disappointment

These boots offer some good stability. I hike with a moderate pack and consider myself an occasional hiker. I typically am traversing mountain sides without a path and so far pleased with the support. The boots are well made and are much lighter than I originally thought. Since I am not an extreme hiker I can only say they perform well for my style and suspect they are capable of more. For the price they are awesome and provide adequate breathing for summer trips.

The shoe feels and performs super well. Extremely comfortable. I have owned 3 pairs. But all failed in an identical way., not too long after purchase. The shoe sole began to split between the layers. As if the glue that holds the layers of the rubber sole just does not hold well. Cannot understand why. Normal wear, no water or harsh environment exposure.

This are my fourth pair of the Quest 4 Gore-Tex boots have them for a month and I must say they felt to be the best so far very comfortable no break in period needed. The boots are very well made with no issues in the quality control department.I have already taking them through the mud and rain and my feet have remained dry so the Gore Tex is doing its job
the boots breathe well. I love the color of this Black / Fiery Red with the red laces they truly look like proper hiking boots.
