The new lacing system is a great improvement. I've had several pairs of Quest 4's and all have been comfortable and reliable but the new version seems to be really hot to wear. I appreciate Gore -Tex doesn't breath too well but I've never had this problem with earlier Quest $s. I assume the model does not come without Gore-Tex as I have not been able to find any.

Unfortunately the boot doesn't fit my foot very well. I have a slightly narrow foot thats also low volume and the fit was just too sloppy(roomy) for my tastes. The length of the boot was fine and what I expect from a size 12. Seems like it would be a good boot for somebody if it fits.

I have many pairs of the shoes and decided to replace my Zamberlan boots with the Quest after my first 4 hikes. They have been great so far on my hikes @tacohiking on IG and @hikingtaco on TT. They fit better and the comfort is much better than my other boots. They are a little larger than the shoes so went down 1/2 a size for fit.

Im working on my 4th set of these boots and they are my daily year round wear. I get about three years out of a set and that will cover day hikes, backpacking with scouts, motorcycle riding, yard work, snow shoveling, etc. you name it, these are my go to boots. Comfortable to the point of forgetting I have them on and strong enough to handle anything my day throws at them.

Mostly ready right out of the box. For me, about a half day waer was all needed to get them where I like them. Comfortable transitioning between snow to mud to pavement -- and still flexible enough at the ankle to drive in.

The Salmon Quest 4 GTX are very comfortable, light and true to size i recommend these boots great product all around

No break in. Comfortable and durable. Great grip on all surfaces.

This is my first pair of Salomon hiking boots and I am quite satisfied with the performance of the boots. I've been wearing them on my extended walks to break them in in the snow and the comfort and support are excellent. The boots have provided waterproofing as well as my socks have remained dry even when walking through wet snow/slush.

I've been wearing the Quest 4 in magnet black daily for a year. Boot fits true to size and breaking was a breeze. The tread pattern has had almost an unnoticeable amount of wear. Will be purchasing again.

They were nice didn't last more than a year. Wish they could of last maybe one more year.

Very good boot! I put on about 50 miles while hunting in the rain the first weekend I had them. My feet never got wet!

Solid quality; long-lasting durability all the way up to the laces; fantastic GT insulation and water-resistance; and looks cool. Keep up the good work for the folks that use your prods most, Salomon.

A great choice especially if you rely on reliable ankle support for those surprise hidden roots and rocks that pop up under leaves and water. Surprisingly lightweight which is very noticeable on long hikes. Easily accommodates aftermarket inserts if you use orthotics

Purchased for cruising timber and lets just say they have been absolutely perfect!

These are my fourth pair of these and these are better than previous pairs with upgrades made and are comfortable right away.Previous pairs the soles came adrift after three or so years and hope these stay attached longer.

Even tho cause all the usage, work, hiking daily use, still looking awesome

I have owned a pair of these going on ten years. There is no better all around boot for work/hiking that you will find!

I've been wearing quest 4d for over 5 years. I haven't found a boot that are as comfortable as these yet. I usually wear these 14 hours plus a day, wear them until the bottoms are smooth

Worth every penny. Very comfortable and high quality. I will buy from here again when needed.

Bought these to transition away from trail running shoes for hiking. They felt really good right out of the box. Wore them around town to see if there would be any break in before I used them hiking. There was just a small bit of rub on the top of my toes, but not bad. I usually buy wide width shoes and boots, but the toe box on these has plenty of room.

Amazing in cold hiking or even in snow hiking. Walking in the city too as well. Even for construction worker can wear it.

I upgraded my old Quest 2 boots with Quest 4. They are comfortable right out of the box and breaking in nicely. Super durable just like the Quest 2 and give a lot of ankle support
