I have been hiking in the Lone Peak Mid RSM for over a year now. I have been really satisfied with them. I hike about 30+ miles per week. Year-round. I decided to try this new All Weather version. OMG - SO MANY pluses. While retaining all the great qualities of the RSM Lone Peak. So, what's improved?: (1) better waterproofing. (2) MUCH easier lacing and unlacing - so pleasant for my arthritic fingers. (3) So much more "cushioning"/protection from this midsole for my feet, ankle joints and knee joints. Bottom line: I LOVE them!!!

I love Altras & have multiple pairs & just purchased the All WHTR a couple of weeks ago. Extremely disappointed in this version - it is 100% NOT waterproof and not good for wet or cold weather. Snow, rain & puddles soak the shoes with in minutes. I should have just bought a pair of Lone Peaks that are less expensive because they will get just as wet for a lower price tag. Don't buy if you think you're getting a waterproof shoe.

Honestly these shoes are great. However I loved the Lone Peak 4 mid design way better. With the mountains on the side. They looked way cooler. Othet than that these are amazing shoes. I love em!

I've been bouncing from brand to brand trying to find the perfect hiking boots that will take off running whenever my trail pup does. These are great. I feel fast and light while running and they have excellent traction in the muddy trails we blaze everyday. The upper is super thin and will be great for hot feet in the summer, but is a little chilly without thick wool socks in the snow. I haven't had any issues with the waterproofing despite trudging through slush and muck this spring. The height is supportive and keeps most everything from bouncing in with the exception a few things sneaking in the very back where it dips. I've really enjoyed the wiggle room in the toe box while feeling like my heel and midfoot are held snugly. Overall, these were the exact crossover for trail running/hiking I needed. So far, they are holding up to the miles of daily abuse too! For reference- I have normal arches, a wider foot, love zero drop shoes, and ordered my regular running shoe size. These shoes required no breaking in.

I was reluctant in the store to try a shoe without a raised heel. I tried them on and loved them it just felt right. I broke them in on a 2 mile hike and had zero blisters felt like I have been wearing them for years. The toe was not tapered and had room for my toes which is intention and hiking with room at the toes allowed me to better grip into the shoe.

I ordered an 8 since I've never owned a Size 40 shoe and that's the equivalent provided for a 8.5, but had to send it back for an 8.5. My foot widens at the metatarsal heads quite a lot and there's a tightness right there in the design of this shoe, so if you don't like your forefoot squeezed, order up half a size. Otherwise, this shoe is BRILLIANT. The no-rise heel and spacious shape (if not sizing) of the forefoot makes it feel barefoot except for all the brilliant cushioning, which I'm grateful for when walking on pavement. (I've worn lots more flexible barefoot footwear in the past so this feels super cushioned to me.) While I haven't stepped into a big puddle to test the waterproofing, I have walked on fresh snow and my feet have felt warm and dry. The top of the shoe is pretty low, so you wouldn't be wearing this in deep snow or mud anyway.. Well done! Highly recommend, and thanks for the free return policy.

I was worried given how many reviews said these aren't waterproof but I've put them to the test over the last month they definitely are. The flip side of course being they don't breathe super well, but I have trail runners for dry weather. I've only ever had altra escalates before and I'd say the fit on these is similar, with some stiffener in the toe to keep you protected a little. Absolutely love how I can hike in deep mud season without worry.

I use these for hiking in Colorado, where springs can be a bit wet. I also use them for summer hiking. I like them very well. I had to add an arch support for my pronation. The soles are very grippy.

This is my fourth pair of Altras and I love the wide fit and zero elevation. These are better and more sturdy than the mid-4. I tested them in the slushy snow on closed ski runs and had no wet socks afterwards! My older mid-4s weren't waterproof.

Normally i wear wides in other shoes and still always felt like my toes were too confined. i had never heard of wide toe box shoes or zero drop and am thrilled to have found these. My foot was crushed in an accident leaving me with a collapsed arch and my feet pronate plus I have had chronic plantar facitis for years since the accident and the best thing i could find til now were Merells moabs. When i wasn't wearing my Merells along with my custom orthopedic made arch supports it felt like something in my arch was being pinched and even when wearing them my pain prevented me from doing a lot of things an active 20 something year old woman would do. These shoes have been life changing. Bye merells. These are a total game changer. I now hike 8 to 10 miles a week and can feel my calf muscle and Achilles and arch getting stronger rather than constantly feeling like my feet are weak and need to be babied by too much support. I am so glad to have found these and curious what other models are out there in this brand that might work for my feet. My plantar faciitis isnt completely gone but better than its been in years . Once i broke in the kind of hard area around the ankles these were golden. Thanks Altra!

These boots are ultra comfy. Sturdy but light. Wide toe box feels perfect. Fits my heel. They are the most comfortable boots BY FAR that I've ever had. I have not taken them on a backpacking trip but have worn them in the snow and for small hikes and so far they are A+.

I love the high, stiff ankle support and stiffness in the sole compared to the mid-4. It makes it feel more like a hiking boot. The only downside is that stitching at the crease of the heel which causes irritation.

I love Altras, and out of 4 pairs, these are the best I have. They fit slightly more snug than my others, which I like. I don't know that they're completely waterproof but they dry fast. So comfortable and supportive!

This is my favorite Altra. Due to an injury ten years ago my forefoot gets easily irritated so my toes need plenty of room and I get it in this shoe. My feet can splay out. Good traction and cushion and arch support. Perfect for me.

I have Lone Peak trailhikers and bought these boots to hike the AT in February and just completed a 100 miles and they were great in the snow melt mushy conditions. I always add a memory foam insert to all my hiking shoes for a soft feel and more protection while hiking which I did in the boot s and it worked well. I recommend them for seasonal hiking when conditions require a boot, otherwise, I love my Altra Lone Peak trail hikers.

I walk with the dog three times a day a mile or so with each walk. We have four seasons here, so there is mud, snow, ice, grass, slippery wet leaves--all sorts of challenging environments for boots. These have stood up to them all, with no issues. They are consistently comfortable, keep my feet warm (but not TOO warm, as water resist shoes may do) and are low maintenance. I really, really like them.

I have been waiting and waiting for this new version of the lone peak to come out. My last pair I e had for a year and they have holes and I get wet easily. Well I'm glad I waited. This version has a stiffer toe which makes putting katoola spikes on them much easier as they don't fold as easily in the front. The back seems to be more heartily reinforced as well. The overall material seems much more rugged. The toe box is huge! I have a horrific bunion and there is plenty of room. Some may think they run big, I say it's perfect as you are not supposed to wear your shoes too small! I am very very happy with these. Thanks Altra!!

I just returned from 2 weeks in Italy , wearing the Woman's Lone Peak All - Wthr Mid boot in Gray/ Green , almost daily .We hiked Cinque Terre trails , which are stony ,rugged, steep ,with tons of steps and dirt , as well as thru Florence and Rome . I debated if I would take them with me , because the color (gray/ green ) is not good , and I wanted to be somewhat stylish even in hikers in Italy. Very comfortable wear all day long on both pavement and trails . I have finally found a hiking boot that works for my difficult feet (bunions) . I'm sold for life !!

The most disappointing feature of this boot is that they didn't put gaiter hooks/velcro on this model. I don't understand why, and I can't even use Altra's short stretchy gaiters over this boot. I love the brand, just don't get the oversight on this model. I had a previous model of Lone Peaks from 2018 that had the attachment points, so not sure why that isn't standard on all new models. Otherwise, I've pretty much pledged loyalty to Altra, as they are comfortable and fit my bilateral bunions in normal width shoes. I appreciate the zero-drop heel and the roomy toe box.

LOVE the clown toe box and alignment of the heel to toe. Altras are the first boots that I have not gotten blisters from - even in long-distance walking. My toes are, for once, not squished together. BUT - they are advertised as all weather - and on the box, waterproof. NOT. I live in a rainforest - it rains. With puddles and water running off my rain pants, my socks were wet in an hour. That said, I will still wear and love them - I'll just take along extra socks.

These are comfy, waterproof, and lightweight! Love them so much! After one 10 mile hike in them, I realized the sole is separating where it wasn't glued properly so I might have to send them back :(

I love the zero-drop Altras. I took one star off mostly because I found these still to be too hot for the “all-weather” model. These would be perfect for winter hiking here in NorCal. Otherwise, perfect boots! Thumbs up on colors!

I wish the product description made it clear that these are NOT waterproof. I was walking in moderate snow for two hours and my feet were totally wet. :( I'd expect more from such strong "weather resistant" marketing. I love to run and hike in the snow, but unless the path is completely flattened before I get there, I will get snow on my shoes. So sad. What a disappointment.

I want to love these... But the lining of the shoe bunches uncomfortably when I walk. I've tried two pairs and it happened on both pairs on the right shoe. So bummed.

The heel feels great and I like the cushioning and sole, but my mid foot is squished and the shoe pinches the joint on top of my foot below my big toe. These are not for high volume or wide feet. Disappointing. I bought an 8 in these. I wear a 7.5 wide in the new Lone Peak 5, and that shoe fits perfectly with no rubs. If you are making a boot aimed at hikers and marketing that there is enough room for "swelling feet," there needs to be more volume, not just more toe room.
