DIDNT EVEN TRY ON SHOES AND WE'RE DONE WITH ALTRA. TOOK ONE SHOE OUT OF THE BOX AND SAW DEFECT IMMEDIATELY. TOO EXPENSIVE FOR CHEAP, SUBPAR CONSTRUCTION. RETURN PROCESS IS ANTIQUATED. ITS BEEN A WEEK AND PACKAGE HASN'T LEFT MY CITY. SO ALTRA HOLDS ON TO MY MONEY FOR OVER A MONTH. NEVER AGAIN ALTRA.

These are not built for rugged terrainI have worn these on 4-5 hikes prior to my latest hike. They probably had about 60-70 miles of use on them. I hiked 4 days on the Ouachita National Scenic Trail and the toes of this boot were torn back. There are literally chunks of tread missing on the sole and toes. I was very disappointed in the durability. The comfort was mediocre at best. I have owned several pairs of Altra running shoes and these are just not what I expected from Altra.

For the first time, the toe box did not provide enough "height" for my toes; the width was fine. I even returned the first pair and ordered half a size up, but had the same problem. I love Altra, and wanted a zero drop hiking boot, so very disappointed.
