The foot bed of this shoe fits my foot like a glove. My only con is they need the first two sets of shoe eyelets need to be speed lace style. They are hard to get on and off.

I've been waiting for this exact boot to come out, and it didn't disappoint! They fit great, have support, and are perfect for winter hikes! LOVE!

What's up with Altra shoes shrinking? These boots run a full size smaller than usual. I love Altras and own these same boots in an earlier version, but after 3 years of rugged wear, they have stopped keeping my feet dry. I was excited about these new ones because the black looks great and the style appears to have been upgraded, including quick laces at the top and a sleeker profile. But going up a half size from my usual 9.5 to 10 was not enough; I'd need a 10.5, which is not available. Oh well.

First off what sold me is the color, they are a beautiful style. True to size, I ordered the 7.5. The only thing is that this show material since it's water resistant it came make some funny noise when you're walking. Aside from that , they are great!

I own two other pair of Altras which I totally love but wanted a tougher pair for hiking in the desert mountains so bought this pair which are comfortable and sturdy but not as comfortable as the other two pair.

These are so comfortable for my wide forefoot and narrow heel/ankle. As other reviewers said, they seemed weather resistant for the first couple of times but after that not at all. For example, today I walked in a light rain, like you can hear the individual drops on your hood kind of light rain, and my feet got wet. So i consider them great walking shoes but not all-weather by any means. So bummed! Still need something to keep my feet dry in the rain!!! I tried the Topo Trailventure 2 WP and they are TRULY weather proof, keep your feet so warm and dry!!! But the Altras fit me better so I am hoping Altra will up their weather resistant game....

These do not fit like the Lone Peak low tops or the Lone Peak hiker that isn’t waterproof. They seemed wider and definitely stiffer. I was not able to wear them because of the extra room in the toe box. The non water proof hiker is so comfortable. Wish these fit the same.

I LOVE THE COLOR. I have been wanting these for a minute. I fell inlove with Altras when I bought the Olypus 4. The down side of those is they are not water proof which lead me to this purchase. I was super into the colors and that they were all weather shoes. Perfect.
I usually wear men's shoes but women's red color was too pretty to pass up. So, I went with the women's style this time. I did have to go up half a size in my women's size, so they run small. I went to a local store to get my size right before I ordered these online, to avoid returns and all that fun stuff. I would have bought them at the store(s), but they didn't have them in the red that I have been after. They are a little different then the Altras I currently own which is the Olympus 4's (size 10 in men's), so next time I will most likely get more in the Olympus family. But, I still love them and can't wait to put some in some miles during the rainy, slushy, and snowy days.
I'd also recommend:
Hoka and Altras!

This is my second pair of Altras, the only shoe, it seems, that I can wear, thanks to my specific issues (metatarsalgia and toes that cannot be cramped in any way). The wide toe box is a lifesaver and the brand was recommended to me by my podiatrist. I was fitted with my first pair, with the salesman suggesting a size 8. All my life I've worn a 7, until two salespeople recently told me that going up a full size is the way to go with walking/running shoes. They were right. For this shoe, which I expect to wear in winter, I ordered an 8.5 to accommodate heavier socks AND a high arch insert. I haven't given them a real try out yet, but they seem to be very comfortable and supportive. Fingers crossed, cause they're also very cute and the maroon color and style details are great.

Used it on month long expedition. Super comfy, I have morton's neuroma so this shoes are great in how roomy and real zero-drop they are. Waterproofness works great even after the month long trip. They dry fast too after dunking them. They look good too! Only feedback is: the sole is slippery and it wears out way too fast!!! Hopefully this will be fixed in the future. Would buy them instantly!

I love Lone Peaks, and the waterproof are proving to be a great choice. My only complaint it that they make an odd little "whoople" noise when I walk (due to them seeming just a hair too big) and I'm concerned that the water proofing will wear quickly at the point were they bend by my toes.

I have 2 pairs of the Turin 4.5's which are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. I have weak ankles and tend to sprain them so I purchased these hoping they will help stabilize my ankles. I have medium width feet but need a wide toe box due to problems with my toes. The wide toe box on these is fabulous. Since I don't run, I can't speak about that aspect but I do wish there was a tad more cushion in the soles like the Turin's. Less cushion is the only reason I gave them a 4 star rating, otherwise they are definitely 5's. Some folks might like less cushion. I helped this by putting my custom made orthotic over the original insert. I love these shoes and will buy more when these wear out.

My 3rd pair of Altra's. I have a 9, 9.5 and 10. I was shocked that the 9.5 boot was too small. The 10 fits my length well but feels big where the laces lay & sides of feet. I will try thicker socks tomorrow. The sound they make is ridiculous, a mix between cleats on cement and a wet suit rubbery sound. People at work even mentioned it.

I will start by saying these are comfortable for every day use, and I will definitely continue to use them. They feel like wearing slippers! But there are some issues for me. A few pros and cons:
I had to order a half size larger than my norm, which is fine. But the toe area is so wide that the front half of my foot slips around inside and I don't feel fully secure for steep hiking because of this. I do not have a wide foot- I love some extra space, but this is excessive.
The water proofing is excellent. I have walked through standing water and had them covered in mud, and my feet have stayed dry!
Oddly, the laces are too short and very thin. I'm sure they're strong, but they don't feel substantial... Also, they come untied pretty frequently, even when double knotted.

I have problem feet and these were comfortable right out of the box, no break in time needed. I wear them for hiking woodland and mountain trails. I have not tested the water resistance yet. The tread is a little slippery and I can feel rocky terrain underfoot but my feet still feel good after 4-5 miles in them.

These are absolutely my most favorite shoes ever. I do everything in them. They feel great to wear. After wearing these shoes it is hard for me to put anything else on my feet. They are great for walking running hiking. They are great for every occasion. I've purchased four pair so far. They cost way more than what I'm used to paying for athletic shoes. But they are worth every penny.

I love this boot. I have put in over 500+ miles on them in the last year doing some gnarly long distance trails in poor conditions. I agree with other commenters that these are a sponge, however, I find that they dry off quicker than other heavier boots. My only gripe is the fabric on the shoe is not resistant to wear/tear. Specifically near the top latches for the laces. Within the first 20 miles of wearing them, these metal pieces tore up the fabric on the boots. I wear these boots from mild winter conditions to the desert. They perform great in both conditions. Wish they were more durable, but they are just mid height trail runners.

The toe box is super wide so even with a bunion I feel the fit is not great. I usually run in Bondi 8 wide. These are great for snow shoeing and they keep my feet dry. Actually running on snow or ice is a nightmare, no traction at all. Be careful, while walking to the start of my snow shoe race I fell really hard because there's no traction. I heard so much about lone peak I would only use these inside of a cleat

I bought these for my mom at the start of 2022. She takes her dog on woodland trails about 3, maybe 4 times a weeks, 3-4 miles each time. She's a petite, barely-senior lady, and only does fast walking and slow jogging. She loves the way these feel on her feet, and how better her feet and legs felt after the trails as compared to her other older shoes. However, these things are in need of replacement already in January 2023. That's barely a year, and these aren't even used everyday. They're not used by even close to a heavy person. They're not ran in and abused on hard trails. Yet here we are. 1 year is a weak lifespan for some almost 200 dollar hiking shoes. I think I'll have to try a different brand this time. 1 year is weak y'all, and pathetic.

Bought for winter hiking in the rain. Clerk recommended them. They were fine in lighter rain for a month or so but surprisingly my feet got very wet hiking just 3 miles in heavier rain. Very disappointed as they are so comfortable and allow me to hike with Morton's Neuroma but I will have to return or exchange them as I need them to be waterproof. I recommend them for comfort but not for all weather hiking.

These felt really uncomfortable for some reason on my feet. I have tried the version that is not water proof and those are very comfortable so I am not sure why these didn't feel similar. They also make this very weird swish swish sound while I walked. I really wanted a vegan and water proof hiking boots but sadly I had to return them.

I ordered the Altras because my friend got some and really liked them. I was very disappointed when they were still snug and felt narrow in spite of going up a full size. They also made a strange kind of squishing noise in the heel with every step. I think I will stick with Merrells for hiking, they feel better and the materials last longer than I think the Altras would, and for considerably less money as well.

Super cute but hurt my feet. These have an aggressive arch that I didn't expect. I was searching for more barefoot style shoes. That said the toe box is wide which is nice. Also the waterproof lining started pulling away from the other material after just a few wears. Disappointed at the quality for the price. Customer service is awesome though!
