I have been searching for a shoe that fit well, had a large toe box, and well cushioned. And a sales clerk had me try these.. wow. they felt great! I've been wearing them now for 2 months and I love them!

You know how it feels when you look your whole life for your soul mate and finally find him? It's like that, but with a shoe. I have been lamenting forever that no one makes a shoe for duck feet. So I settled for shoes that narrowed at the toes and walked around in constant pain. The Lone Peak 5 has a nice, narrow heel and then widens to a comfy toe box. Most shoe companies say their shoes are wide width, but they are just pointy toes that are slightly wider, not true wide shoes. My toes can spread out in the Altra. The top of the shoe has enough volume so that the top of my foot isn't squeezed. And because the heel is narrow, it does not slip at all. Some people think boxy shoes are ugly, but I think they're cute. The shoes look like normal-shaped feet. I wish there were more choices in wide width, but I understand that no company sells as much in a wide as a regular. The wide Lone Peak 5 is an adorable grey with light blue. My only qualm would be the laces. I like the lime and grey color, but they don't match everything. My husband got the men's wide-width Lone Peak 5 and they came with plain grey laces, which I would have preferred on the ladies' shoe, too. But it wasn't a dealbreaker. I still LOVE the shoes. Some people say that the shoe slides on rocky trails. I have not tried it there, yet. It does seem like more of a regular trail shoe. I am just happy to have a shoe that is easy to walk in. I only wish that it was high cushion. I might try the Torin 5, too and see if it is softer. I want that "walking on air" feel to relieve back and neck pain.

Finally, a shoe that I can wear and walk in all day, everyday and my legs and feet don't hurt. It's been a problem of mine for a long time and I have tried all the expensive shoes and these are the best! I tend to walk many miles every day. The shoe itself is soft and didn't give me blisters or joint pain. I have one in every color.

I'm a teacher and I'm on my feet all day and my recreational activities include gardening and running this shoe is amazing for all of it! I was introduced to Altra 2 months ago and ordered my third pair last night! If you have or have had plantar fasciitis, a bunion, or general foot pain, give these a chance. Love the men's plush, too.

I took on a job where I'm literally on my feet 11 hours a day. By end of day my feet hurt so bad and was so painful. I ordered a pair of Altras, in wide width, and these are amazing! Now the only shoe I wear while at this particular job!

I have barrel toes now and find it extremely difficult to find shoes, even slippers, that won't make my barrel toes very painful. So I am grateful that I can walk in the Womens Lone Peak 5 size 10 Wide without pain.

I wear these as my everyday shoes in the mountains of Colorado. It feels as if I'm always ready to do anything! I Have hiked in them and , when I forgot my bike shoes, went mountain biking in them. I have very bad feet with bad bunions and an unstable left mid foot. With super feet insoles because my left foot needs support I have no pain anywhere even on long hikes. I love that the forefoot in wide enough to prevent rubbing on my bunions and no ugly bulges! I bought the hiking version and am going to buy another pair of the LP5's.

Most shoes hurt my toes, but these do not. My feet never get tired in them. I stand 12+ hours a day, and still feel comfortable in them by the end of the day. Perfect for everyday use.

I work on my feet and these keep my feet happy all day. I wish there was a leather version or some type of material for working in kitchens.

I took these for a 3 mile trail run on all terrain the day I got them, and I didn't think about my shoes even once. They fit wonderfully. They're great on almost all terrain. My only concern is that they slide on wet rock at least as much as my old shoes. Other than that, plenty snug, light, and plent of toe room.

I wasn't initially a Lone Peak fan, but this LP5 addressed every concern I had, and I love this shoe! Stability, support, toe box, lightweight and trademark tread make this a great trail go-to shoe!

Excellent fit and comfort

I LOVE these shoes! I bought them because I have started hiking and a friend recommended this brand to me. I did probably 25 miles and ZERO discomfort. No rubbing, nothing. I got a half size bigger than my normal, and they are perfect! Definitely worth the money.

Great shoes I would recommend these. Yes, they are wide but are perfect for my feet.

Love the fit. Great for pavement and smooth trail. I need a more rigid sole for rocky trail/terrain.

I wear a sport orthotic. I usually need a wide shoe. The wide in these shoes are very wide with a lot of room in toe box almost too much room. The regular width is perfect ( it is wider than most shoes like this and works 100 % for me. The design of these shoes takes the pressure off of the front of my feet! I love them.

My podiatrist recommend Altra due to my bunions. This has been a life changer for me. I wish you made more I. Wide width. I wear these hiking and my feet NEVER hurt! Wish I would have found them sooner!

After trying brands that "used to work for me" I turned to Altra that still work for me. Lone peak 5 fit from the moment I put them on, no break in period! My feet are in heaven! I have a very wide foot. I ordered the wide size and increased my length by a half size. Perfection!
