The only brand of running shoes that had a foot shaped forefoot abs fits my very natural wide forefoot.

Grateful for others' comments on sizing - I ordered a half size up from my usual & the fit is perfect. I use these mostly for speedwalking, and they're terrific! Responsive, comfortable.

When they arrived, I thought the box was empty, they are that light! So comfy, like wearing good fitting moccasins. I get tons of compliments on the looks of these shoes, plus people say my feet look "so small". I like everything about the fit and feel very confident walking on all surfaces.

I must say that I am absolutely in love with these shoes! At first I thought they were a little snug but after a few miles to break them in they have become my go to short distance road shoe! The more miles I have ran in them more I enjoy them even more, light weight and responsive!

I am a new runner, and as I progressed my running I wanted some better performance shoes. I originally started with the Brooks Ghost but after a couple runs, they felt way too heavy - my feet felt like they dragged and were getting weighed down, which was not complimentary as I am already decently slow. My friend recommended Altras to me (specifically Escalantes), but when my store was out the rep referred me to the Riveras. I love them! The foot bed is perfect to accommodate my wide feet, and they're so light weight! I love the neutral feeling when I'm running. These are an A+ in my book. For reference, I typically wear a size 6.5 (wide, when available). I got these in a 7 and they are great.

I am pregnant and needed some comfortable shoes to walk/run in. These are perfect and give me the support I need.

Several years ago, Altra shoes were pretty much all I wore. Then for a while there I switched to some other brands. Decided to give Altras another shot and boy am I glad I did. Tried on both the Escalante and the Rivera thinking that there was nothing that would ever beat the Escalate for me. I definitely like these better. I can't really put my finger on what it is that I like so much. I will say that I have very narrow feet. Not sure if that's why or something else. But the cushion is just right. They breathe well. Perfect for an every day shoe. Please don't change a thing!

I did get a half size larger when I bought them, luckily I tried them on at the store first.

I'm so excited about the Rivera and what this shoe brings to the Altra line up. I am a trail runner but have been loving the Rivera for speed workouts on pavement and dirt roads. This shoe feels very responsive, light and just the right amount of cushion to cruise around in. I'm excited to race a flat 50k on dirt in June with the Rivera!!!!!!!!

I have been looking for a great walking shoe for many years now. My son (a runner) suggested these. I have never had a shoe feel so good on my feet. The toe box width is a dream come true! I'm sure I will be ordering another color very soon!

Just came in today and I wore them for the first time - and I love them! I found myself running with a great big smile on my face. My last shoes were the Escalante and I wanted something a little squishier as I hope to keep building my endurance and run more this year, and I am trying not to aggravate a mystery problem / possible neuroma in one foot. I'd had a pair of Torrins before the Escalante and they were very comfortable (and necessary when my mystery problem was fully aggravated) but always felt a little too high. These are just right!

I measure 9 and wear 9.5 in most running shoes these are true to running size. I loved my Torins! Tried these and ordered off the site. CS helped me with the sizing. Heel is locked with certain socks, some socks my heel still slips. Ride feels firmer then Torin 4.I. Feet feel protected. Feels better in run then just walking around house. So far I like these in rotation! Would like a Rivera plush for longer runs! Torin Plush heel slips for me. I'll try these on a longer run soon! Love the white and organs color!

The Rivera made up a bit for my disappointment in the Olympus 4 and Timp 3. (Please see my reviews on both shoes.) I bought the Rivera from my local run shop; I was pleasantly surprised! I bought Women's size 8/Teal Green; the color is beautiful, and the fit is so comfortable! The Rivera doesn't quite have the cushioning and bounce that my Torin 4 Plush has, but the Rivera is ideal for short-to-mid-distance runs (5K to 10K). The Rivera is a wonderful everyday running shoe; also great for walking.

I love the extra toe room. I have a comfortable cloud like spring in my step when I run.

I wear these shoes to teach fitness classes and to walk my dogs. I use orthotics which easily fit and they are super comfortable.

These are my first Altra shoes and I love them! The first run I went on them was a longer run, so I was a little nervous as I typically try to break in shoes over time, but it wasn't a problem with these shoes. They were great for the first run and every one since! The inside arch support was a little higher than I am used to, so that took some adjusting but I like the extra support.

I was previously running in Altra Paradigm 4.5 but was really unhappy with the 5.0 model (much narrower and aggravated my neuroma). The Torin felt too wobbly so I decided to try the Rivera even though I usually prefer a plusher ride. Absolutely LOVE the feel of these shoes and haven't had a problem at all with my neuroma. Going to get a second pair.

I love these shoes, they fit great and I love how they are the shape of your foot. no issues with toes rubbing.

Finally a running shoe that fits the toe box area as well as the heel area at the same time! I no longer have to choose. Running in these feels so natural I could run all day. Couldn't be happier!
