The shoes are cute. I wish Altra offered this kind of look in more of you shoes! Reviews that I read indicated these were narrow compared to other Altra styles. The heels on your shoes are often too wide even with runners lacing/knot. Based on Reviews I purchased one pair the same size as my other Altras and one a half size larger (5.5 and 6.0). They simply didn't fit like any other Altras I have ever tried on. Narrow and not nearly enough volume (the height of the upper relative to heel cup depth and space above my toes. I purchased this style because they were categorized as walking shoes. I have worn a lot of different road and trail runners. I have worn several "walkers". These shoes didn't have any characteristics I look for in my shoes. Zero drop was the only thing that reminded me vaguely of Altras.

I can't say anything about the shoe because it was uncomfortably small.

I have been wearing Altras since the very beginning, and I hate that they now seem more concerned about looks than about natural foot shape and comfort. The toe box of this shoe is so shallow that my big toe hit the top. They also are at least a half size smaller that the Torin 4, the Torin 4 Plush or the Escalante 1.5. They feel much more narrow, and were so uncomfortable I had to cut my runs short the two times I tried running in them. Sadly, I had to return them, and went back to the Torin 4. I hope this is not a trend. Altra has been my go to shoe for years.

I was very excited to try this new shoe because it has even more of the EGO Boost found in the Esclante, which for me is a great running shoe. Before I took even one step there were noticeable problems. The shoe is not true to size but is approximately half a size short compared to Torin, Escalante, and Provision. I use the last eyelet to get a tight heel fit, but the laces were too short to allow for this; not a deal-breaker, but an inconvenience. The toe box is so shallow that I noticed my toes hit the top of the shoe as soon as I stood up. Personally I found the thick tongue and heel padding to be very different from other Altra models I have worn. The midfoot seems narrow and the heel is loose for me. These may be very nice changes but I decided to return the shoes without running in them. I'm sure there will be feet out there that will be happy with this new shoe, but not mine.

The first time I wore these was while playing dodgeball. Less than an hour in the bottom padding on them ripped off. I was barely jogging around the gym so no crazy movement or anything was happening. I returned them and am hoping to get another pair that hopefully doesn't fall apart after one wearing.

These shoes were a huge disappointment. I have purchased 8 pairs of differing styles and this was the worst in terms of too narrow, tongue causes forefoot injuries and comfort zero. I need Altras for the zero drop and wide footbed ; I suffer from it all, Morton's neuromas, sesamoids and metatarsal problems, topped off by arthritis. Over the past year I am finding Altra quality to be inconsistent and poor as new models come out. Rivera, Torin 4,4.5, and older versions of many other styles like superior, Timp and lone peak are great, , these are terrible for me. Now I roam sportswear sites searching for older models still in stock to keep on hand

I am an avid walker. Because of that I buy good shoes. I don't understand companies who don't make wide shoes. I would buy them and I have the money but they would not work for my feet. So why waste my money. There is a large percent of people who do not have narrow feet.

I've been wearing Altra shoes for about 5 years now and have worn different styles. These were the first I hated. I went a half-size up and they were still too short, toe was too narrow, heel far too wide, and I couldn't marathon lace to pull ankle opening closer. I returned these so fast the mail carrier didn't know what happened.

The shoes are good but don't buy white unless you like a weird tie-dye look. Customer service has been helpful and the bleeding issue is covered under the warranty. Needless to say my replacement pair will be black.

Lacking arch support, no dual lacing system, minimal cushion compared to the Torin. Tried the 2021 Torin 5 and wasn't a fan of the new tongue design. Went back to the Torin 4. Hope Altra brings back the dual lacing system in their future shoe designs.

I was looking to replace my Torin 4s and wanted these to work, but unfortunately these are even more narrow. For anyone who's been wearing Altra's for years- this is another disappointing model that no longer has the wide toe box.

First off, there is nothing foot shaped about this shoe unless your foot is shaped like a ruler. Just wearing them around the house for an hour I started developing a hot spot on my toe. If I wanted a narrow performance trainer I would go with Nike, Adidas or the many other brands out there. That is not why I or many others wear Altras. I want the wide toe box to allow natural foot splay and zero drop. Other issues is the heel just felt sloppy even with the heel lock in place and correct size. And the laces are way too short but that's not really a deal breaker. It's sad to see Altra headed in this direction with the narrow shoes, I think they are going to lose a lot of long time customers and the quality of the shoes just isn't there for me anymore either. If you have wide feet or even normal width feet I'd pass on these. Personally the Torin 4 (which sadly are being discontinued), Escalante Racer and the Escalante 2.5 are the only Altra's I can wear anymore.

What happened to Altra's natural footshape toebox? I was eager to try the Rivera as a higher stack EGO midsole because I prefer a firmer ride than the Torin. Unfortunately it's much narrower in the forefoot than the Escalante 2.5 or the Escalante Racer. Crushes my toes, unwearable. It's disappointing that Altra is no longer making shoes based on their principles of foot health. My last 5 pairs were Altra, however I'll have to look elsewhere if they make narrow toeboxes now.
