I had to go half size up and it actually fits perfect. I love these shoes for standing around training my clients!!

I tried so many models of the Altras, and was about to give up, especially when I was reading about how the Altras were being made narrower in some models. It seemed like people were saying that Altra was abandoning the foot shaped shoes. I had tried the Escalantes, but my feet would hurt in the ball of the foot area due to my foot sliding around. I thought the Torins felt good, but they have what I think is a dreadful tongue on their current model. I have Superiors and Lone Peaks, and have tried on a few other models. So...I was in a local store recently, with some time to kill, and I thought I'd just try on the Riveras just for interest sake. I was so surprised that they were nearly perfect for my foot. Quite similar to a pair of Lems that work well for me, but the Rivera has more cushion - which my older feet really appreciate. With the Rivera, my feet feel good - finally! I am thrilled! It's possible they might work for you too.

Having had a bad foot experience on a marathon walk, I sought help at specialty shoe shop. They suggested ALTRA - for the foot shaped toe box. This had made all the difference in the world! I am on my second pair and find this brand to fit my feet perfectly. I'll never go back to cramming my toes in regular shoes.

I have been running In Altras for about 10 year now. The Rivera is one my new favorite models. The cushioning and the arch support are perfect.

For me the heel is a little too wide but no narrower choice. The toe box though is perfect.

Love love love this show. I had terrible metatarsal pain and these shoes were the solution to my problem. It's the only my shoe I use.

SO very comfortable. My feet are so happy even after miles of walking. This is the first pair of shoes that I have worn in the last 40 years that are not painful on the toes on my right foot!

I absolutely love this shoe. It's by far the best shoe I've run in over 20 years of running. Amazing cushion for impact but also SO light. I'm a huge fan.

I have been wearing Altras since before I could get them in the stores. I have mostly worn the Intuition and Lone Peak. I took several years off and when I came back to running, no more Intuition. Which was actually a good thing. While I was hesitant to try the Rivera, I am in love with how well they fit my feet! I have "normal" width feet and typically wear 6.5-7 in a street shoe. For running, I have usually gotten a size 8. The Rivera fit my feet the best of any Altra I have worn!! My heel feels supported and stable, while I still have room in the toe box without feeling like my feet are all over the place. I have just the right amount of support and freedom. Rivera's are the perfect blend of both. I have put about 65 miles on these shoes so far and can't say enough about how great they feel on my feet. Thanks Altra!! Plus, I love the red color!! Last pair when I walked into the store was my size in red. Meant to be!! LOL

I've suffered through years of pain in my toes and backs of the heels from other brands. So much so that it was beginning to cause sciatic and shin pain. Once I tried the Rivera, it's like my feet were immediately screaming "THANK YOU". I took them for a spin around the block and instantly noticed the extra toe room and love how much more natural my strides feel. I run on both smooth rugged trails 3-4 miles at a time and my hips, legs and feet feel so connected and like I can run much longer than usual. Definitely the best shoe out there in my experience.

These are the best shoes ever. I wear them on my daily 3 mile walks, to the dog park, and everywhere! Great support and all day comfort!

Just boxed to send backas I ordered based off reviews being true to fit,,, unfortunately for me, this pair was too small,,, I'll try the next size up instead! Seem pretty awesome otherwise!!!

Absolutely love these shoes! Ordered and they were a little too small. I normally wear a size 7 in most brands including altra. Sent back and ordered 7.5 and couldn't be happier! Have even done some light hiking in them.

Heck yes! Altra, you knocked it out of the park with this one! I have had a love hate relationship with the escalante over the years I'm in love with the minimal to low cushion shoes but with My average to slightly more narrow feet the escalante 2.0 made me feel as if I was swimming. I would always end up with blisters on the sides of my big toes. Ugggg! Escalante racers have become my go to as they are as bit more narrow. I do however, want a shoe for my "easier" run days that I can alternate my racer with. This is it!!!!! Responsive fit like a glove Great for a variety of workouts and paces. Altra kept it simple and aced it!

Bought the white pair this spring for walking and light jogging. Had to break them in but after this they ha e been the most comfortable in toe box. No numbing!!!

I love this shoe! I love the snug fit around the heel and mid foot and of course the roomy toe box. So comfortable and smooth! Shoe laces too short for me, I just swapped them out:)

I walk several miles daily in these and have plantar fasciitis and a Morton's neuroma that can flare up easily. The pain is only mild when in these Altras with a metatarsal pad inserted .

Great for walking long distances and so comfortable and light weight!

i've dealt with foot problems my whole life and i have a pretty low endurance for being on my feet for long periods of time. until i found these shoes i honestly thought that my foot issues would always hinder me, but these seriously provide so much relief. i'm always looking for something supportive AND lightweight and these are amazing. i'd love to see these in more cool colorways. i have the white/coral ones, but i want to buy another pair and feel like the colorway i have is the only one that i really like. low key please contact me altra bc i feel like there's so much potential to make these amazing shoes trendy like hokas x ov colab. you officially have me as a lifelong customer, and i'd love to see more.
