I LOVED my Vapor Glove 4 shoes, and wanted something similar. The Trail Glove 6 seemed closer in shape and fit to what I was looking for than the new Vapor Gloves. Unfortunately the new Vapor Gloves don't have a traditional shoe opening (they are a set circumference at the ankle/top of foot, without much ability to be adjusted for high insteps), and these Trail Glove 6 shoes have a similar restriction - the tongue is attached via stretchy material on either side of the foot. This would in theory keep the tongue from sliding too far to one side... great in theory, right? Unfortunately the fabric also is really restricting if you have a high instep. There isn't enough stretch to allow the top of my foot to be comfortable, even with the laces completely undone. I usually wear a 6.5W or a 7M. The width and length of the shoe is great, but it cut off circulation to the top of my foot, so I had to return them.

I have several pairs of Merrell shoes in Women's 8M. I normally wouldn't buy a shoe like this online where fit critical, but the sizing of all of my other Merrell shoes has been so consistent that I went for it, Womp womp it's a return for me. They are both a full inch too long and also too narrow, These aren't offered in wide sizes, so I cannot even exchange my standard 8Ms for a 7.5W. They seemed slightly stiff for a barefoot shoe, much more rigid than the last pair of barefoot trail runners I owned, but I'm sure that given the chance they would have broken in just fine.

A very stiff shoe. I've won Merrell vapor glove shoes for years. Couldn't even get this one over my not so very high instep. The cross bands are not stretchy, and the material is exceedingly unyielding.

I have been wearing Merrell Pace Glove and Trail Glove shoes since they first came out. Originally, I Ioved the barefoot glove-like feel of the earlier styles and wore every pair until they had holes in them, fearing the changes in design that might come in the next iteration. Sure enough, each successive year since the Trail Glove 4 has made this shoe stiffer, narrower and more uncomfortable. If you call a shoe by the same model name, then the sizing should be consistent from year to year. This model feels shorter and the toe box is now significantly narrower than in earlier models and causes me pain and rubs if I dare wear them all day. So sad that they had to mess with a good thing and that I cannot return these because they have been worn. How do you know they're terrible unless you wear them doing activities you normally do? Now I will have to find a new brand, sorry Merrell. This one is a deal-breaker.

I buy these every year, every year they have lasted for less time. The quality has reduced so much over the years, the soles barely last 3 months, I was so dissatisfied, they easily used to last a year a few years ago. They look and fit great, if only the soles didn't wear out so quickly.

I have worn Merrill barefoot shoes for 10 years, and this is a major step back. The material is rigid and feels cheap. It is difficult to get my foot in the shoe, while they are a bit too long. They are tight around the arch and uncomfortable over a whole day period. I would not buy them again.

Very narrow unlike other styles. Had to return. Are you using a new manufacture? Strange stitching diagonally across front.

Sizes run small and tight. I run from an 81/2 to 9 so I ordered a size on the large end and was very disappointed to find the sho was too small and too tight even without socks.

I have had four incarnations of the trail glove and this #6 is the worst fitting. Much narrower than ever before and runs a tad shorter. The tongue come up higher and the shoe is more difficult to slip your foot into. Go back to the original trail glove! It was the best!!!

I've worn and loved the Pace Glove 3 and the Trail Glove 4 and 5 3D. They were all crazy comfortable and great for working out, hiking, and just every day wear. This TG6 is way more narrow and uncomfortable. It immediately put pain and pressure on my metatarsal. Returned.

I LOVED the trail glove 4. I wore them for everything, every day. I ran, hiked, worked, hit the gym, even ran marathons and ultras, and everything else in them. I probably owned over 20 pairs in total. They definitely weren't the longest lasting shoe, but they were my favorite and I gladly replaced them each time they wore out. I mourned the day I could no longer find them anywhere online. Merrell, if you're listening, please bring them back!
Jumping ahead to the new version...I hesitated to give these a chance after the shear disappointment of the trail glove 5. While these are better than the 5, they are still no comparison to the trail glove 4. There is less room in the toe box, most notably. My toes are smooshed even after going up a half size, and there is no wider width available. It seems Merrell is moving away from the barefoot feel when it comes to the toe box. Thankfully, these are still zero drop, yet it feels like there is a little more arch support than in past versions. The tread pattern is also less grippy in loose rocks than the 4, which is disappointing because the 4 had amazing grip. I can't say there's anything I like better than the 4 about this version, but they are much more comfortable, water resistant, and appear more well-constructed than the trail glove 5. I hope the next iteration of the trail glove is roomier in the toe box, grippy soled and continues to be zero drop. Until then, these are ok. Not my only shoe or my favorite show anymore, but still in the rotation.

I LOVED my Trail Glove 4s. Sadly, this new version is much less comfortable. They're not really barefoot shoes anymore. They squeeze my foot in all directions, even after ordering a size up. The sole is narrower than the TG4 and the lycra fabric holding the tongue down squeezes my foot, even after I cut it a bit to try to accommodate my high arches. The tongue barely lifts, making it hard to get the shoes on and then compressing my arch while walking. I got foot cramps after just an hour in them. I am so disappointed that these shoes will not be the all-day walking/standing/exploring shoes my TG4s were :(

I've worn Merrell shoes for years. Never had and issue with them. I have a wide foot but the good thing about Merrell is that even their medium width shoe has plenty of room for my foot. Until now. Saw the Trail glove 6 and liked the way they looked. Went ahead and purchased them online because I actually have 2 pair of the trail glove 4 and absolutely love them, I also have a pair of the Bare Arc 3 that I love they are so comfortable. So I didn't think twice about getting these expecting the fit to be similar if not exactly the same. WRONG! These fit nothing like the old trail glove shoe. I don't have a problem with the lacing system, while it does make it a bit harder to get your foot in the shoe I can see how it would reduce slipping issues. My issue is that they are way to narrow. I think someone with a medium width foot might actually find these a bit to snug. Felt great at the heel and I personally actually liked the strong arch but they squeezed my toes so tight that it hurt. Seriously stop trying to redesign shoes to much. Stick with the old adage "If it's not broke don't fix it"
So disappointed. Hoping I can return or at least exchange for a different style.

I had been wearing the previous model, the trail glove 4, for years (and wore through several pairs). The trail glove 6 is not a comparable shoe. The toe box is significantly more narrow and I cannot spread my toes while walking (which is one of the key features of a Barefoot style shoe). Despite this, I have worn them daily for work for the last few months and my feet begin to hurt at the end of day. This shoe does have good arch support. Unfortunately, I will not be buying this sneaker again.

I bought these a couple of weeks ago since my Trail Glove 4's are starting to wear out. The shoe is ok but can't compete with the Trail Glove 4. It also runs a little more narrow then other Merrill shoes and the arch support is uncomfortable.

I like the look of this shoe and wanted to love it; however, the arch is very high and inflexible and it caused knee pain every time I took a long walk. I don't have any knee pain with my other shoes.

I've worn the vapor glove for years, but I wear the soles smooth quickly. Thought I'd try these! The soles ARE more rugged, but there's an arch support, the toe box is narrower, and they slip like crazy on rope climbs. I'll be going back to vapor glove unless I can find a "barefoot" type brand with a longer-lasting sole.

I didn't :-( They hurt my feet. I bought them for work and tried several times to see if maybe they would "break in." They didn't work out and I just never returned them.

I loved my last pair of Trail Glove 4. I was disappointed to see they're no longer made so I looked to update... well I bought the 6. If fits like a light shoe and not the Glove near socked foot feeling I loved. I even have the new heel blisters to prove it. I'm hoping my love will grow as these get broken in... but my bloody stumps will need some time to heal. I am keeping them but I am sad they changed the design. I'll be watching to see if it comes back. Until then, event though it's excellent quality... just not a fan.

I was really pleased to see the effort to make the Trail Gloves more sustainable, but so disappointed they don't have the same barefoot feel anymore as my 5s and 4s. I'm returning them. Please go back to the thinner sole.

I bought a pair a few weeks ago and I was shocked to find out I could barely get my foot in the shoe. Even after loosening the laces the tongue wouldn't open enough to fit my foot. The strap over the tongue was so stiff I had to pull it really hard to open. When I finally got my foot in the shoe fit really nice, like a glove. But the more I started walking around (5 mins), I noticed the hard plastic was digging into my big toe's MCP joint which became very uncomfortable. I also noticed the small gap at the top of my toe box. I bought these shoes true to size, but after reading comments I realized the shoes were designed 1/2 inch bigger. So I returned the shoes for a 1/2 size smaller, and it was even more difficult to get these shoes on. When I finally got them on, the tongue/laces area wrapped around my foot so tight it felt like it was strangling my foot, but at least the toe box fit good. This design was so disappointing from the trail glove 4. The trail glove 4 had fantastic bungee laces and was incredibly comfortable the instant I put them on! The trail glove 4 felt like a thick sock with an instep and tread, they were so perfect. I do applaud that merrell used recyclable materials with this 6 version, but I don't think they know how to design with these new materials yet.

I have had three pair of the Trail Glove 4 shoes over the last several years and loved themmost comfortable shoes ever! Can't buy the 4 anymore, so was hoping the Trail Glove 6 would be similar. Disappointed that the fit and feel is very different and these were not comfortable at all. Too much arch support in what is supposed to be a barefoot shoe. Ended up returning them.

This shoe is at least a half inch longer on my foot than the Trail Glove 4 and slightly longer than the Trail Glove 5. The arch support is also too much and not in the right place. I loved the 3 and 4, the 5 is ok, but the 6 is no good.

I love previous versions of the Trail and Vapor Gloves and they're almost all I wear, but the 6 doesn't measure up. I have a narrow foot so they fit ok, but they are very narrow. The arch support is very stiff and the shoe overall feels stiff and doesn't have much ground feel. I love the teal color and wanted to keep them just for that, but ultimately I'll be returning.
