I have purchased 3 pairs of the previous versions of this shoe and absolutely loved them. Comfortable fit, durable, dependable. I ordered the exact same size as before in the new model and the fit was horrendous. The shoe fabric basically creases and sticks out around my inner ankle making a huge gap between my foot and the sneaker. So disappointed in what was an awesome shoe. If they made the fit more narrow they should offer a wide option in this shoe.

This shoe is too narrow to begin with and you can't get wider options for it on this site or anywhere else. But this pair was insanely narrow! In the pic you can see it's almost an inch more narrow that the exact same shoe (even the same color) in the same size bought from this site a couple years ago. I normally wear a 12 wide, these are both 13s and I couldn't even get my foot into it to see how tight it would be. Are you listening, Merrell? Wider shoes please!

I bought these shoes for my boyfriend. They are so slim it's ridiculous. They hardly have any wide shoe selection and the ones they do have are not great. I had to ship his back and can't order anything his size.

I was looking for a barefoot style shoe that I can use on trails. This shoe has a very skinny mid foot section and has built in arch support. I loved the trail gloves previous versions, but this one with the arch support is so uncomfortable that I sent it back before wearing them out of the house.

I was very pleased with the comfort and fit of this shoe. I bought them for vacation. After 2 weeks of wear, the sole under the big toe on both shoes is peeling off. See photo. I am certain this is a design defect, not just an anomaly with the pair I received, there is a tiny piece of rubber that connects the sole under the big toe to the rest of the sole. The connection point is weak and once it breaks, it causes the sole to start to peel off. I hope Merrell redesigns the sole as this is otherwise a great shoe.

They are uncomfortable. They are nothing like the original, which was a great "barefoot" shoe. With succession every shoe has gotten worse. The soles are too thick, too narrow toe box, too much arch support, elastic tongue sides wrinkle, and uncomfortable throughout. A true disaster. I used to love this shoe, along with many others and for that reason I came back for one last try. Fortunately there are other companies who listen to their customers and are competent to deliver a decent shoe. All Merrell had to do is to re-release an already excellent shoe.

Like everyone knows by now Merrell was known for making a great shoe 5+ years ago and have since been able to progressively deteriorate their product. The original shoe had minimal sole and wide toe box. Just by going through all the reviews it's clear that they're not listening. This year was my last try with Merrell, but the good news is that there is now a new barefoot shoe company on the market. Zero chance I will come back to try another Merrell shoe. I've come across so many people with this exact complaint. They should have kept one shoe for these customers. Incredible frustration and disappointment for this company!

The newer Trail Glove 6 Eco by Merrill, in my opinion, are over engineered.uncomfortable, harder to get onto your foot compared to the original and second generation. I've owned 5 pairs of the Older Trail Gloves. The Trail Glove shoe were the only shoe I would wear. The only thing I have to say about the newer shoe is .Goodbye Merrell until the old style comes back!

Most uncomfortable shoe I have ever worn. Previous wore the Trail Glove 4 and the fit is not the same. The arch is so large and dense on this shoe that I cannot place my whole foot on the ground, either my heels or toes will be resting off the ground like a seesaw. This shoe is not an improvement over the previous design

I couldn't hang on to my Trail Glove 4 any longer. They were falling apart after years of walking, road running, and trail running. So, I ordered the TG6. Merrell - what have you done to your TG? It is unbelievable. I don't understand how you can actually put the word barefoot anywhere in the description of these shoes. Maybe you meant for the material around the arch to be protection? Well, it is so firm it is actually support. It literally thrusts into your arch with every step. The soles might be sort of thin the but the rubber is so thick and firm you could be stepping on a grape sized marble and not know it. These shoes are so far outside of the barefoot / minimalist shoe definition saying, ""The Trail Glove 6 is a barefoot shoe" in your description might make you liable for false advertising - they are that bad. Signed - a once loyal customer that wished I bought 10 pairs of Trail Glove 4 to last me a life time.

For something that claims to be "barefoot" it incredibly similar to traditional trail runners. The toe box is tight and does not leave room for your feet to splay, there's aggressive arch support (maby more than some traditional footwear) and there less flexible than earlier iterations. Merrell as a brand has declined and there's are no exception.

Been wearing the shoe daily for work and the rubber outsole peeled away from the foam after only 2 weeks. For the price that is unacceptable.

A couple of years back I purchased the Trail Glove 3, and fell in love with the shoe. DESPITE having a minor issue with tear an wear, the Glove 3 was superb. After owning the Glove 6 for 5 months, there is nothing positive to say about the Glove 6. Uncomfortable, poor quality, Merrell lost its way and dropped the ball on this shoe. Hopefully they'll learn from this mistake and go back to the design and quality of the G3.

Came to air my frustration, and now see I am not alone, in wishing Merrell would go back to the old principles from the former models of the Trail Glove. I have been very happy with the TG4 and even TG5 in the leather model, but the TG6 is just ruined by the the now much narrower toe box. This makes absolutely no sense i a "barefoot" shoe. I bought 3 pairs last week and have now send them all back. I didnt even get to experience the more pronounced arch support a lot of reviews mention. Right away put off by the much too narrow toe box.

the description says these are good for transitioning to minimalist shoes, which is exactly what I was trying to do. what it doesn't mention is the insanely rigid arch support that actually bruised my arches just going through a normal day. My arches are a pretty normal height, and I've never had any problems with the arch support in non-barefoot shoes. the only thing minimalist about these shoes is the stack height and lack of padding. the narrow toe box and painful arch support are in no way characteristic of a minimalist shoe.

Huge let down. Tried a few trail runs hoping they would break in a little. They are so narrow it makes running unbearable. I wish the toe box was wider. Waste of money.

I wasn't sure what kind of wordsmithing was going on with the description until I got these shoes. I had to immediately return them and go looking for some old 5's. PROS: They maintained good materials on the uppers. CONS: They turned a barefoot shoe into a "kind of" barefoot shoe that is clunky, yet sleek and "sexy" looking like many other tennis shoes. I can only interpret this to mean that the barefoot contingent is shrinking, which is sad. This might appeal to a newcomer to barefoot shoes, but those that have been wearing these shoes for years are left with no true barefoot option in the Merrell lineup. What about those that have already "transitioned"?? Why not make a half-way barefoot shoe and leave this line the way it is? Also, the toebox is drastically changed; look at the above photos, taken from their own site! Extra length to trip over, while simultaneously constricting your toes. What happened to "wide toebox"? Buyer be warned: The description telegraphs a heads-up that this shoe is totally different in fit and function than any previous Trail Glove. Try this one in-store if you can first.

The toe box is tight The side plastic material isn't that comfortable The shoes are rigid The arch support was great in 5 but here in the 6 is very hard So no, it's not more a barefoot shoes, the 5 was super perfect for hard trail runs with rocks and unstable surfaces. The TG7 will be safety shoes for construction workers? Come on I bought 4 pairs of TG5. You don't have rivals in this tipe of shoes, protective but comfortable and minimalistic, there are other shoes company for normal running shoes. You make a good 7 version we buy it, it's easy. Hope you will find a solution, by
