I've had these shoes for about a year now, and I've been hoping that they would wear in and become as super comfortable as all the other Merrell shoes I've had in the past. And even compared to the vapor shoes I continue to wear. These shoes actually hurt my feet. Still. My feet, tendons, arches are so sore after wearing these shoes, that it is literally a huge relief to take them off. Unbelievably bad shoes for me.

Not very comfortable. Should have returned but had my bare feet in them so I did the right thing and just disposed of them. Think about this purchase

These are absolutely not barefoot shoes. They are significantly more narrow than my normal non-barefoot shoes and the arch is ridiculously high.

I'm not sure how to give a shoe that is unwearable anything but a 1-star rating, even though it would be a 5-star if not for just one, single feature - the high arch. In all of my other shoes, for the last 10 years being Altras, I replace the insole with a more supportive one, with arch support. Arch support can always be added, but it can't be taken away. Even if there is a market for this much arch support, it seems that surely there would be an equal if not greater market for this same shoe but with LESS arch support. I love the sturdy sole, the minimalist design, and the wide-ish toe box. But I even tried adding an insole and cutting out the arch area to try to even it up, and that wasn't enough. It's crazy.

This is not a barefoot shoe. I bought these because I loved my Trail Glove 4. The Trail Glove 6, however, is way narrower, especially in the tow box, and has a weirdly high arch. This cramped fit has resulted in shooting pain in my left foot, making these shoes unusable for me. I wish I could get my money back.
Please redesign this line of shoe into what it was: a great barefoot running shoe.

This is not a barefoot shoe. Very narrow toe box and an insanely high arch support.

First time I wore them it felt like I may be getting a hotspot or 2. I exclusively wear Merrills, and will continue to, but this model ain't it, chief. Maybe I should've gone down half a size, but I'm not going to pay money to burn my feet up on a gamble. At least I matched my old best run record in them on my last run.
I think the laces are slightly too long too.

Starting to fall apart w/ < 1 mo of gym use. Previous pairs have last, at least, 1 yr lasting through trail runs, Spartan & Tough Mudder events. A friend has also experienced decreased quality in the Merrell brand, specific their winter boots.

High painful arch support. Over engineered lacing may cause hot spots. Mid foot very small opening making it hard to get my foot into the shoe

So narrow that I could only get my foot in if I opened lacing and then 5he shoe looked ridiculous. I've purchased Merrill's for 20 years and recommended them to fellow travelers for 15 years; I can no longer do either

I needed a size larger than the first pair that was delivered. The return service was excellent. However, the new shoe is still too tight to get on my foot, so I just don't know what to do about it.

Not comfortable, no cushion, very disappointed. I have had Merrill's in the past that have been very comfortable, but not these. I returned them

I have been wearing Trail Gloves for ten years as my main shoes, for running, walking, everything. They were once the best and most comfortable shoe ever made, with better and worse iterations. Tragically, the era of the Trail Glove is now over. The TG6 is an atrocious shoe - narrow and uncomfortable with an aggressive, bruising arch support. It is not in any way a barefoot shoe. Please Merrell, bring back the Trail Glove. I'm not alone in wanting it restored to what it used to be.

I ordered a 10 and got a 10.5. They didn't feel right, but I didn't notice the wrong size until after I'd worn them and couldn't get a refund.

I hope Merrell is reading all of the negative reviews!
Here's another TG4 fan asking why the shape of the last has changed so much? I certainly don't have wide feet - I'm on the narrower side of D/medium - but the TG6 is tight on my toes (width-wise).
As others have said, aren't these trying to be barefoot? That doesn't work if feet are cramped!
I know it's impossible to make a shoe that works for all customers, but bring back the TG4 last shape for the TGs - and make another shoe with this last shape if you need to - just don't call it the TG... Just a humble suggestion from someone who would buy 2 pairs of TGs/year if they were shaped like the old TG4. But I'll be returning these...
(I also preferred the dark soles of my dark blue TG4s to the brown soles of the TG6)

I bought them for my roofing job, worse decision I made. They started coming apart the first week using them. As expensive as they are, they should work on their build quality. Stitching on the sides or the glue they use is pretty bad. I am happy to provide feedback if improved

I started with TG3 and that is why I switched to Merrell. TG4 was pretty good (but I preferred TG3, but unavailable). I adjusted, and went through 2 pairs of TG4. Then came TG5 and it was great (is great, I have managed to find old models until now). I've had three pairs of TG5 and I want more. I tried TG6 when it came out - hated it - fit was too tight, hard to put on, etc. All of that was covered by others. Fine if you want to change things, but keep the old version. Bring back TG5 or even TG3. You can't beat a classic - and it seems when you try, you have an epic fail. Maybe jump to TG7 - you seem to have problems with even numbered models. Just bring back TG5. I am looking into other brands (there really isn't a good alternative, but maybe it is better than TG6).

Barely able to get my feet in the shoes (don't even have wide feet). Restrictive arch support (the foot is supposed to be able to pronate). Cramped toe box. The list goes on

I ordered these a few days ago and received them today. They look great, and I was excited to receive them but I could barely get my foot into them, and could not comfortably have them on my feet at all. I don't have wide feet and wear standard "D" width shoes, so My assumption is that these just fit VERY narrow.
