I have so many pairs of the Gaviota 1 and loved them from the moment I put them on my feet. I tried several pairs of the Gaviota 2 but they are not the same. My feet hurt in them and the sizing is so different. Everything about the shoe has been changed (support, shape, material) and the other other stability shoe doesn't work. Sad- because they were great. Need to find a new shoe.I won't even try the version 3 because I'm sure it's just like the 2.

This updated shoe is SUCH a disappointment. Too short and too narrow, even in the wide width. I am so disappointed with this new shoe. Gaviota 2 was great! Why change it? HUGE mistake for everyone that uses an orthotic. Hoka one one might gain some wearers that want a sleeker looking shoe, but they will lose all the steadfast orthotic users that loved the old shoe. Big mistake!

Tried running in these shoes ..killed my feet. I have planters fasciitis and the other Gaviota were perfect. These were my 4th pair and they did not work for me. Returned the shoes.

I used to love the Gaviota shoe but they have significantly narrowed the toe box which ruined these for me. Sadly, my favorite shoe has now become my least favorite shoe. Sending them back and trying another brand.

note to the design team: make the women's shoes more exciting colors. I returned them as I could look at boring shoes even though I love Hokas.

Gaviota3 is awful compared to the Gaviota2! Shoe is more narrow, feels like it is missing a layer of cushion in sole, and heel sounds hollow as you walk. I returned them. Certainly wished I could find anither pair of Gaviota2.

The show is way to narrow. They need to go back to the normal ones they had. I had to purchase different shoes as these ones didn't work.

I loved the Hoka Gaviota shoe until the 3 came out. The redesign doesn't fit my foot at all, too deep even with an insert it is still loose. My plantar fasciitis has returned with a vengeance which in turn make my joints hurt. Have been scouring the internet for the Gaviota 2 and with luck the next spring collection will be better.

Wore this shoe to work one day and was having foot pain the entire day. Something in the shoe was pinching the top of my foot. I don't tie my shoes tight AT ALL but no matter how loosely I tied them something still pinched my foot. Had excruciating upper foot pain for about a week now, but it's finally clearing up. The cushion for the bottom of my foot seemed comfortable but the pain out weighed the comfort. Maybe this shoe will be good for you, but unfortunately it wasn't for me.

Somehow, hoka seems to be consistently tossing aside loyal customers with wider feet. It's a huge bummer as I've had many of their shoes and loved them and they just keep redesigning them narrower. Reviews agree on this point. Makes them simply no longer workable and amazing. A real loss.

I have been wearing Hoka for years now. I go between the Bondi and the Gaviota and have always loved both. Having flat feet, I need the stability for work. I decided to try the newest version of the Gaviota. My feet are killing me and causing my back, hips and legs to hurt. When they arrived, I tried them on to see if they fit, they did so I threw out the box and paperwork because Hoka has never disappointed me. I am feeling really stupid right now because I can't return them and am still paying on them. Yay me! Until they are paid off, I am stuck with them. I will say that they do feel true to size.

Did not like the color. I kept tripping over my feet because the soles are so wide. I understand they are made for balance but the soles stick out too far to the sides.

I've been running for more than 25 years. I had a podiatrist recommend this brand as my foot pads have started to fissure and callus and I slightly supinate. After ordering and waiting to get these shoes fitted and tested, I was excited to get out and run. Although they are very light, they are super stiff and felt like I was running on 2x4 wood planks. NO flexibility, no spring. I was in pain from start to finish. I didn't want to try them the next day, but I did. Same thing, plus more pain up my shins and achilles. I could not finish my run fast enough to get out of these shoes. Bummer b/c they sounded like the "next big thing" in running shoes.

I preordered these, with an expected arrival date of 2/9. As far as I can tell they haven't shipped them yet. :(

I have 2 pairs of the Gaviota 2 and love them so I expected the Gaviota 3 to be even better. The left one seemed larger than the right one. The material around the toes up to where the strings are has a gathering look. I wore them for a few days thinking I could make them work but the left one tends to rub my foot. I am returning them!

The shoe doesn't have the cushion like my 1st pair. I liked them better legs and back didn't hurt so bad.
