I have flat feet and significant overpronation. I have become accustomed to pain over the years, but find that with the Gaviota, most issues are decreasing if not gone.

I went to a lot of trouble to get these shoes and I am really sad to say they fit completely different than the Gaviota 2. I wear a size 7 wide in both the Arahi and Gaviota. I went to my local running store and tried on the 7 in these to check the length because reviews said they ran different. I thought they were long enough and once I got them in a wide they would be perfect. They arrived today and I can't believe how poorly they fit. Every single toe is smashed against the side/front of the shoe. Holding them up to the 2s, the toe box is much shorter and a bit narrower. . I'm also a little worried that these are much stiffer than the 2s. I hesitate to try in a different size because they are so rigid I don't think they would work for anything other than walking.
Stability is good and there is a lot of support so if you manage to get the right size I think it would make a great shoe if you are on your feet all day. But with it so rigid I really don't know if they can even be considered a running shoe anymore.

I suffer from psoriatic arthritis, and because of it I have enthesitis, severe plantar fasciitis, and knee and hip pain. After being unable to walk for months and getting my diagnosis, I got the meds I needed and started running again, but my old running shoes just weren't cutting it anymore. I picked these up from my local sports basement and right out of the box I took them for a run this morning. Four miles, minimal pain. My feet feel fine after that, which is practically miraculous after what I've been experiencing for months. I want to go and buy more pairs to stash from fear they will be discontinued I love these shoes so much. They do run half a size big for me. I'm a pretty standard size eight, but in these I wear a 7.5 with regular thickness socks. I'm glad I tried on at the store.

I love my hokas they get lots of miles on them. I run in them I wear them to work as a RN I can always count on my feet to not be sore after long days walking on cement floors at the hospital. I don't own any other workout shoe now since my first pair of hokas in 2018

I bought these putting my trust in the runn store and they far surpassed the mark! I have an extreme case of advance stage Plantar Fasciitis . The pain was so bad that I dreaded getting out of bed to even go to the water closet. These shoes have changed my life and outlook on ever walking or running again. Even though I have to start over with baby steps and a cane; I feel that I have a new lease on life....I highly recommend these if you have plantar Fasciitis the cushion and stiffness is just right for me .. Thank you for giving me my life back Hoka

I LOOOOOVE my Gaviota 2's so so so much. They literally changed my life as a young person with RA, and a nurse who works 12hrs. Almost all my co-workers have the Bondi's (or onclouds) but I have to have stability and the Gaviota (Wide) does just that for my poor ankles and super flat feet.
I was so excited for new colors I pre-ordered immediately-same size and width. Got them yesterday, and they are too short, and the toe box is noticeably smaller. I am a true size 8, but purchase 8.5 in closed toe shoes since my left foot is half a size bigger. I may just be used to having extra room in my right shoe but these were cutting it close on the right, and unwearable on the left-and I don't think they just need to be stretched out. I am exchanging for a bigger size since I love them so much and the color is pretty, so REALLY hope they work out.

I needed an all-black shoe in order to volunteer at a large event. Over the past few years (I volunteer twice a year) I have tried several shoes, from New Balance to orthopedics, and always suffered for weeks after the event. I really wished that I could wear my HOKAs but they were too colorful. On a whim I searched the website and found the perfect all-black shoe from my favorite brand. It may seem silly to pay so much for shoes that will be worn 2 weekends a year, but the cost is WELL worth it. For the first time, I was able to complete the entire weekend without heel, ankle, knee, hip, and back pain. I'm 48 years old, 5'10" and about 250 lbs. I'm a "big girl" and great shoes are not easy to find. Well, I found the source of the fountain of youth. My old bones are so much happier in my HOKAs.

Omg! I absolutely love these shoes! I have a fractured metatarsal along with Achilles heel in my left foot and these shoes have been such a life saver for me. They are stable and comfortable and feel like normal shoes, not like those bulky orthopedic shoes you have to wear when your feet are bad. Ive gotten several compliments from people as well on the style.

The new Gaviota 3 has a smaller foot base and runs narrower then previous additions. I wasn't happy and returned the shoe.

Love these shoes! Great fit, well made and easy to walk in. Had pain in legs and feet from other shoes but these prevent that pain. I don't think I'll ever walk in any other shoe!

I am so disappointed in the Gaviota 3. HOKA had it right with the Gaviota 2. I wear a 9M and I loved the Gaviota 2 because it had a wider toe box and great arch support. I have Morton's Neuroma and Planter Fasciitis in both feet. The Gaviota 3 shoe is so narrow that it not only aggravates my toes, that it aggravates my heel pain. It has been suggested that I get a "Wide," but if you wear a medium shoe, a wide shoe is always too wide.
HOKA usually does great creating shoes for people with foot issues. Sometimes "New & Improved" does the opposite.
The Gaviota 3 is VISABLY narrower than the Gaviota 2

I have the Clifton 7 and Gaviota 3 that I alternate every other day and the Gaviota 3 is more plush but they are both great shoes. I am on my 3rd pair of Cliftons and they are probably my favorite. Lighter and more flexible. But with my bad knee the Gaviota 3 provides more stablilty and plushness that really helps my knee.

I received my Ombre blue Gaviota 3 today I am so very pleased with my purchase.
I tried the shoes on and walked around my bedroom As I wanted to make sure I did not get the bottoms dirty in case I had to send these back like the last style of Hoka's I ordered.
I'm telling you.. I have so many foot issues lately. I have Neuropathy from long term medication use which causes tingling burning & pain & these shoes put a smile on my face.
I cannot wear any type of tight shoe, These shoes hug your feet and when you walk you have a little bounce from the cushion inside. The shoes are pricey, but worth it.

Still getting used to shoes. They are stiff and initially weren't totally comfortable. I remove insert and replace with custom orthotic, so it is settling in and is getting better. Will let you know. One complaint is the too long shoelaces that I don't like to have to double knot to take up the slack. They "click" bouncing against the shoe.

I got my new Gaviotas 3 a few days ago. I tried them today. The fabric is nice, softer than previous model. Sadly, the new toe box is considerably narrower than Gaviotas 1 and 2 and it rubs against my toes. The arch support is too narrow now and digs into my foot. And I ordered the wide ones. Please see attached pics.
The new Gaviotas aren't a good fit for me, and I'm very sorry about that. I had 3 pairs of Gaviotas 1 and 3 pairs of Gaviotas 2 exclusively for work. As a nurse I really appreciate shoes that resist 13-hour days. I guess I'll have to wait for Gaviotas 4.
