These shoes are bizarre. No matter how tightly you tie them, they feel loose. Ironically, I was advised to go up half a size. I'm glad I didn't - they would have fallen right off! I started with Hoka when I tried the Clifton 7s. I loved them, but haven't found a good pair of Hokas since. I'm moving on to a different brand. This one seems all hype, no substance, based on the other reviews on this site.

This is the second pair of HOKA shoes I have tried. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and typically wear Brooks shoes which are great for my RA, but my rheumatologist recommended I try some HOKA shoes also. The first pair I purchased last year and this pair I just purchased have both resulted in increased joint pain in my feet and an exacerbation my RA. This pair's insole has been causing blisters on my feet. I have been trying to return this pair for weeks, but the return center has been down. I really don't want to have to continue trying to spend the store credit with HOKA and would just prefer my money back because I don't feel like I will be able to wear a pair of HOKA shoes comfortably and I have no confidence in their customer service or return system. Unfortunately my experience with HOKA and their products has not been great. I wouldn't recommend.

Gaviota 2 was my absolute fav stability show. Great for supination. The new gaviota 3 has a much narrower foot bed especially in the toe box. I normally wear a regular width but had to try a wide in the new style and it was still too snug in the toe box. I also don't like how much thicker the lip on the heel is. Tried these on at a local store and was really disappointed. I wear the gaviota 2's daily as I'm an IT and I am on my feet most of my day. Not sure what I'm going to do. Hopefully I can find a "gaviota 2" out there before my current shoes wear out. Will not be purchasing the "3" awful fit & design.

Toe box is very narrow, would not suggest if you don't have narrow feet, and even then. I work in a hospital and i am on my feet 12 hours a day and my toes were cramped even before I started my shift. The whole shoe is great, great support just the toe box is too narrow for my liking and what I need it for. I went back to the Bondi's because they are my tried and true shoe for what I do.

This is the second pair of Hokas that I tried. I also bought the Clifton 8s. They are beautiful shoes and they fit like a glove, but they are just too cushioned for me. I think that I need to try a brand that is a little stiffer, especially in the heel area.

I bought multiple pairs of Gaviota, both versions 1 and 2. They fit me perfectly. The size and the support the shoe provided were awesome.
Gaviota 3 has been redesigned. It is shorter and more narrow than the previous two versions.
I bought Gaviota 3 thinking that I COULD TRUST THAT THE SIZING WOULD BE THE SAME.
It wasn't. I returned them. You have lost a loyal customer.

NOT KEEPING. This shoe is an entirely DIFFERENT SHOE than the last one I had WHICH I LOVED. They've changed the STYLE, the LOOK and it is like an old fogie shoe. They SHOULD RE NAME IT AND GO MAKE THE SAME SHOE AGAIN.

My shoes are too big and uncomfortable because of it.
The reviews said true to size.
I'm disappointed for how much I paid.

Hoka has been my go-to running shoe and the only ones that kept me running marathons pain free; however, this shoe just does not feel the same. I am constantly getting blisters from the way it rubs and it is not as soft as the old version used to be. I loved the Gaviota 2, bought multiple pairs, but unfortunately the 3 is not the same. I like running in a stable shoe but may need to try a different style or switch brands.

I have hade three different pair of Hoka Gaviota in the past. They have all been good until this pair. This pair is horrible! I have had them for a while now and I still get blisters from them. My heal hurts really bad after only a couple hours of wearing them. I do not like the changes made. I would not buy them again. They are expensive.

Too narrow, too tight. Ordered an 11W, was sent a 10W. The box says 11, but the shoe itself says 10.

I have used Hokas for about 12 years and love the three pair I have, but this new attempt at a "more padded and wider toe shoe failed for me.

Started developing blisters on the balls of my feet on my first two runs (never got blisters there), knew something was wrong. These just weren't the right shoes for me. I had been using Cliftons and return these for a set of the Clifton 8's and those were instantly better. Great return experience though, still love Hoka...just don't think I can branch out from Cliftons now though.

I wanted to like these shoes. A friend spoke of how great Hoka's were. I tried them for about a month but had to give up. They were so narrow my little toes went numb and my feet hurt for the first mile of my walk. I had to go back to New Balance, which has never failed me.

I loved my Gaviota 1 & 2 shoes (although I had to size up when the moved to the 2. I hate the 3s. They fit totally differently and cause pain in my right foot. I ran in my previous versions with zero issues. Please go back to the 2 design.
