Help! Love everything about these except the "regular" width is incredibly wide with a voluminous forfoot. Hiking a steep decline, my feet were sliding forward in the shoe, toes tap tap tapping the front.

I ordered these and sadly will have to return them. I have been wearing Hoka Challenger's since the ATR2 version. Up to this point they have been perfect for me. The 6 iteration, unfortunately is narrow in the box and the arch seems further forward. Now must conduct a search for ATR5's as I go through 3-4 pair/year. disappointed in Hoka. Maybe the shoe description that lacked the early stage meta rocker in the highlights was an omen.

I had previously worn the ATR Challenger 4 which was the most comfortable show I had ever worn out of the box. The ATR 6 was a nightmare wearing with much less cushioning giving me a consistent pain in the ball of my feet that has persisted since I started wearing them. The service rep at Zappos was wonderful in assisting me with a return and trying another pair of the same in the hopes that the shoe I had ordered was somehow mismade. After wearing the new one around the house I found it equally uncomfortable and am returning.

I feel like a need a different type of Hoka. I like it but I needed a softer one. I feel bad returning it because I have used it already. But looking forward to try the. Softer feel one.

Sizing Way Off. I really wanted to like this shoe. To cover my bases, I ordered the ATR 5 in a 10.5 (10 wasn't available) and the ATR 6 in 10B and 10W. The ATR 10.5 was too big. The ATR 10B seemed even bigger! I walked around inside for a day and felt like I was tripping over myself. Then I measured the inside footbed - nearly 1" longer than any other athletic or regular shoe I own in a size 10. The size chart on the tongue shows US 10B and EU 42 2/3 - which converts to a US size 11 or even 11.5! (US 10 is between EU 41 in my experience). Sizing is way off - likely a quality control issue at the manufacturing level. As for comfort - they were OK, but I didn't use them as intended on a run. Alas.

I wear the Bondi and the Akasa. They are comfortable and the wide width fits well. I wanted to try something new so I ordered the Challenger. It is too narrow. I don't understand how the manufacturer makes widths differently. These were returned.

I use these shoes for work and they are still uncomfortable even after being worn for 2 weeks. The bondi shoes I have were better

True to size with generous width in the wide. Not too wide that custom orthotics swim around inside. Loved the colors. Ended up returning because the area of the sole that juts out under the heel felt weird underfoot when walking. Perhaps it's more useful on a trail than on hardwood floors or concrete though? Definitely felt like more of a solid trail shoe than hybrid to me.

I could get past the bubblegum orange sole, but I expected more cushion for a Hoka. This is very stiff and not as wide as ordered. In addition, the right arch is hitting the wrong spot on my foot. I doubt that these will help me last on a 12 hr shift. The only positive thing is that it's lightweight. Oh well. Back to using my Brooks Ghost.

I have the Hoka Cliftons in size 6 and ordered the same size in this style. The shoe was VERY tight and feels very narrow.

I fell in love with Hoka's with my first pair, and the last pair I bought, Challenger 5, was my favorite pair yet with a roomy toe box, light weight, and great balance plus a neutral color. I thought I was safe ordering the next generation, Challenger 6, but am extremely unhappy with changes made in this generation. First, my normal 7.5 size is too small - my toes are scrunched against the front of the shoe, yet I've never worn shoes larger than 7.5. Second, the toe box is now narrow instead of roomy. I probably wouldn't be comfortable wearing these even if they were the right size. Why the heck did Hoka change this model so much? Now I'm afraid to by any shoes online, even if I think they're the same model.

i LOVE Hokas, and have worn them for many years...sadly in recent years the quality control has declined (i know 2 podiatrists that won't recommend them any more)...i purchased 4 pairs--on 2 pairs the left heel was not straight and tilted to the left; on one pair the sole rocked diagonally (which would totally trash your ankle!)...only 1 pair was straight and stable...i kept it, but had to send the others back...25% defect free isn't a good stat...

I hike around 15 miles a week and only wear trail runners for warm weather hiking. I currently have the Torrent 2 in women's size 8. Those fit well and I am happy with them but decided to try a more cushioned shoe for my rotation. Ordered the ATR 6 in the same size, 8 regular. It is extremely wide and sloppy fitting. Most reviewers are commenting that this shoe runs narrow so I have to believe that what I received was an 8 Wide, even though it is labeled as a regular women's size 8. Sizing issues aside, this shoe looks more like a road or walking shoe rather than a trail running shoe. I returned it immediately.

I ordered these ATR 6 shoes in my usual Hoka size 8. Many reviewers stated the shoe runs narrow. The pair I received were incredibly wide and sloppy fitting on my feet. Couldn't really ascertain how I liked the shoes because they were SO wide. Even though they were labeled as an 8 I have to believe what I actually received was 8 wide. I returned them immediately. Guess this is the downside of making a popular shoe in a wide width. There can be mixups in the factory.

perhaps the recipe has changed or the company has taken some shortcuts to encourage the bottom line (very corporate) but my trail running shoes don't last nearly like they did 4 years ago. Unfortunate. When Hoka One first hit the scene, they were a game-changer; now not so much. Definitely see the drift toward bottom line and away from quality. markR
