Appreciate the protection from the rock shield with the responsiveness of the shoe.

Buy two pairs in case they change the design! Purchased for Utah and Arizona trips, great on slickrock, and wet steep and muddy terrain. When I get scared, I just say to myself, "trust the brooks". These ventilate well, but you will have a pile of sand after a long day in the desert. *Tip the hotel housekeeping generously.) I live in Oregon and the only thing missing is waterproof version for ice and snow season. Cars are slipping down the hill on ice, but I am solid in my Catamount. 4mm is perfect drop, too. Thanks for keeping me secure on the trails.

One of my favorite trail shoes! Not as restrictive and clunky as "typical" trail shoes. They have a good amount of flexibility and spring to them while also being solid and supportive. I feel that I have better agility and flow of movement with these shoes, especially on mountain terrain. Makes it really fun to be out on the trails.

I?ve ordered two more pairs of these in case Brooks suddenly changes the design like they did with the Caldera. I?m in the military, and these have provided the best overall support for the new fitness test required. Stability, light cushion, traction control in one shoe. Almost too good to be true, if I hadn?t worn this pair for almost a year. #Perfection

I am comparing to the Cascadia 14 and Caldera 3. I chose my regular size for my somewhat narrow foot and heel and I have found the fit to be excellent. The Catamount fit feels more secure to me than the Cascadia and after a brief break-in as comfortable as the Caldera. The uppers on the Catamount seem to facilitate the excellent fit--they just hug your feet. The lightness and just the right amount of cushioning combine to give a cat-like feel on road and trail--speedy, precise and comfortable The newer Caldera was just too stacked for me and this shoe seems like the sweet spot between the more rigid Cascadia and my old Calderas. Looks are a plus as well. Highly recommend.

Very good shoes for trail running and good shoes for hiking steep hills. The grip on the bottom of the shoes work well on loose and hard dirt. I am really enjoying the use of my catamount shoes!

Super comfy and a powerful trail running shoe. Didn't slip or stumble at all in the woods with them.

Overall I’m loving this shoe. I made the switch from brooks pure grit after using that shoe for a solid 8 years. I’m happy with the transition and so far it’s caused me no leg pain (I have issues with most shoes). The support is great, the cushioning nice and its responsive while having a solid connection. The color is not my favorite but I’m going to switch the bright laces for black which will help tone down the shoe to my taste. I’d recommend this shoe to anymore!

These are great right out of the box! I appreciate that it has room in the toe box, but not so much that it feels sloppy. I also like the firm cushioning. I really dislike the feeling of stepping on a marshmallow, but also don't want the barefoot experience either. These are perfect, giving me firm, springy cushion that I feel like I can push off of. My only wish (besides a built in gaiter) would be slightly more aggressive lugs. However, these are working for me over rocky, muddy, and packed dirt surfaces and also transition well onto pavement when the trails I run pass over a road. I am so happy to have finally found a trail runner that works so great for me!

What a beautiful shoe! I love that it is low profile enough to go between road and trail, Super comfy and minimal but my foot still feels protected which I love!

I have run in my new Catamounts three times now. Twice short (3 miles), and a 10-mile. They are great on both short and long because they are lightweight but solid and with just the right amount of cushioning. As others have said, they also transition seamlessly between road and trail. I chose the black and pink color combination, love it!

So far a really nice supportive trail shoe for my wide feet. I ran 4 miles the first day and have put about 30 miles on them so far. I usually run on the road but wanted something for trails with a little bit of tread. These fit the bill really nicely for me.

My first pair of trail running shoes and I?m so glad I chose these! Lightweight yet still has very good tread on gravel roads, as well as going uphill/downhill. I have been able to pick up my running distances and my feet feel amazing afterwards!!! Thank you for releasing the Catamount!

this is a really nice shoe, it feels a bit snug for the size, you have to wear really thin socks but then the fit is good. If you like to wear thicker socks, size up 1/2 - they do need some breaking in, but overall good comfort and style for price point.

Comfortable and light. Soft impact and love the thickness thought not weighted.
