I bought the Brooks Catamounts for a vacation to Costa Rico. I didn't have enough time to wear them at home before the trip, so I took walking/tennis shoes along just in case. The Catamounts were very comfortable during hikes, including on rocky surfaces. I even wore them on the plane home because they turned out to be more comfortable than my sneakers. My only problem is I am unable to wear my orthotics in the Catamounts because they lifted my feet too high in the shoes (even after taking out the insert that came with the shoes) such that the heal slipped. Still, my feet held up well without the orthotics. I'd definitely buy another pair of Brooks!

Love my catamount sneakers. I've worn them in a couple of ultra marathons where the trails weren't too technical. They are comfortable for long distances. I think they would be a great sneaker for casual hiking too.

I purchased these trail shoes especially for a vacation to Costa Rica and will be doing a lot of hiking. I have tried them out hiking at home and they feel great. Plan to see some great trails with these shoes.

A surprise and delight. I walk rapidly in the woods for about 5 miles, several times a week. The trail is hilly, bumpy and sometimes narrow. The traction and comfort in this shoe is the best I have experienced in a sporty sneaker. The only complaint I have is the color selection - come on Brooks, pink is just not a workable hue for all the women who use your product.

I have heard rave reviews about these shoes. I have been a huge Hoka fan and was a little hesitant to try something new. I'm glad I did. These shoes are fabulous! They are my new go to shoes.

Impressed by the perfect fit and comfortability of shoes ordered online without trying them on. They're perfect and worth the price!

Solid all around fast trail shoe! I felt like I needed little to no break-in period with the Catamounts. Really comfortable and responsive. I find them to function just as well on pavement, which is nice for mixed trail-road runs. I will note that they feel more "tippy" on technical large loose-rock terrain, which are the trails I primarily run. They feel faster than the Cascadias (my other trail go-to), but not quite as stable. Overall, definitely recommend! *Just one suggestion to Brooks -- maybe fewer pink-heavy options for the color options of the next iteration of this shoe? Nothing against pink, just seemed overly represented in the color schemes!

My go-to shoe. I can wear it on trails or roads. Good cushioning and fit. Relatively light and nimble. I always wish trail shoes would come in fun, darker colors to they'll not show the dirt as much.

These are a super fun alternative to the Cascadia. I find in the end they don't have as much support/cushion as Cascadia but they are still supportive and comfortable for everyday trail walking/hiking. And the color combos are awesome! I'm looking forward to an GTX version...

First of all I am not a runner; I'm more of a hiker. I have bad feet (bunions, surgeries, etc.). I love the catamount shoe because of the sturdy footbed. It really supports my feet especially when hiking.

I think these may be the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. So far, for my first trail and beach runs, they have been fantastic. They are also comfortable for regular use.

Absolutely love this trail shoe! It's as described fast and I can feel the cleats dig in the dirt or sand. Will be my go to trail shoe.

Great trail runners. I have a slightly wide forefoot and these are a perfect fit. I actually purchased a second pair.

Brooks were recommended years ago by my podiatrist. I have tried others but none are as comfortable and provide the right support. I used to get Ghost12 but they changed the shape, luckily these are perfect!

I have difficult feet, long and narrow. The Catamount, size 9 1/2 fit perfectly. They fit my heel, no slipping and yet the toe box is roomy. Have not been on the trail, just doing a few miles on pavement they are comfortable and have enough support. Once I hit the trails I may have a different opinion, but for now they are as near perfect as I have ever had.

This is the first shoe that I just don't have to think about when I'm running bc it fits my foot and does what it needs to mile after mile. It's responsive and light and not overbuilt like most trail shoes feel to me. I wear my street shoes size in these, no sizing up required. I have a low volume foot overall, high instep, average toe spread and narrow heel. My heel locks in in these and I have not had a single blister or toenail issue in these no matter the terrain. I'm at 400 miles in my second pair of Catamounts and will be getting a third pair soon. Please don't change anything about this shoe!
