Note: I'd make this 3.5/5 if it allowed half stars.
Pros: The material is fantastic. It's light weight, elastic and handles sweat well. The waistband is also quite comfortable and is a nice material. They also offer some pretty sweet patterns!
Cons: These shorts, like a lot of others, sit pretty close around the thighs. The elasticity of the shorts makes up for this but I'd prefer they naturally be a bit looser around the thighs (for my tall , thin brethren out there you'd likely love these).
These do tend to ride up a bit when running, but the comfortable waistband helps combat this.
Because they ride up, the saddle/lining is a bit snug, especially around the ole caboose. (It's not gonna cause any unwanted friction it's just not quite to my liking).
In short (get it?), these are really close to being perfect because of the material, but the fit for a thicker thighed man is not quite where I want it. Again, to be fair, I've tried a lot of shorts and this just seems to be how they're made these days.
These aren't the shorts I reach to first when I'm going for my most comfortable fit but they're also not the ones I'm avoiding in the dresser. 3.5/5

Light and comfortable but not very good looking. The fit is somewhat off and veeeery big for a S size. Won't buy them again.

I wish the pocket was bigger and easier to access.

I am a medium in almost everything I wear (32" waist), but occasionally I find myself caught in the middle of M and L. For me, the Medium as a little lacking in the liner - it didn't give the support that I expect and was a little narrow - the shell was fine. I also found the front rise to be a bit high and found that the short wanted to sit much higher than I like, and much higher than all of my other running shorts. Materials are fine, the waistband felt a bit over built compared to what I prefer and to other shorts I have. Pockets worked well. I won't stop using them, but they'll be the shorts I use when my favorites are in the laundry and I won't use them for anything too long as the liner fit could cause some lingering discomfort in a sensitive spot.

I purchased two pairs last year and they were the best shorts I've ever worn. This year I purchased the same size and it was way to big! Returned them and purchased a medium and they were way too small. This is a sad review

The only thing I dislike is the pocket around the side top area. A phone fits but basically pulls the shorts down as you run. I have an iPhone 12 mini so it?s a pretty small phone too. Compared to the Under Armour speed pocket this is a big miss. It seems there is a real lack of shorts besides Under Armour that have a good pocket. I know I?m not the only one who carries a phone on most runs.

Nice feel to shorts, hang nice around hips and legs. Provide good freedom of movement Unfortunately, the logo starts to curl then peels off, leaves dark impression on short I would expect a better-quality logo on their premier shorts

Loose fit around the legs, reasonably supportive. Handy pockets in the back for gels. The only downside if that the waist band bunches up when the drawstrings are tied.

I really like these shorts so I was pretty bummed to realize how small the zipper pocket is. My phone does fit but only after a struggle and just barely (I have the iPhone 12 Pro). I'm pretty sure you couldn't get the max in there without ripping it as I am worried I'm going to rip the zipper each time I squeeze my phone in. For some reason, I also feel it bounce around when I'm running. The size zipper pocket along the thigh in the 2-in-1 shorts seems to work better so I'm be going with that design exclusively for now

As a workout short these are 4.5 stars, but as a running short I can only give them 3 stars. I have more of a sprinter's build and the leg opening is just too tight without a split and just rides up. The material is awesome, very light. I don't mind the thicker band, just don't quite work for their intended use with my body.

Fine quality. Bought them in light blue. They show a lot of sweat, and the pockets are too small to hold a phone, but otherwise they?re ok

Waist band is nice, as is the material. The liner doesn?t have much of a ?pouch?, though, which can feel pretty uncomfortable.

The waist band isn't horrible, but it's a bit awkward. Think it may be an unessecary design attempt. Prefer traditional waist band.

They're fine. I'd buy another pair when needed.

The one zippered pocket is way too small. The other two are functionally useless. Although my Birddogs are 6" they fit WAY better than your 5". I'm very disappointed.

The pocket isn?t nearly large enough for a phone

I basically hate them. After 2 runs, I put them in the wash and went back to my old shorts. I like shorts with pockets. These have no functional pockets. I struggle to get my iPhone in and out of the zip pocket. The side pockets barely hold my poop bags and key fob. Also nicknamed my buttcrack shorts; the weight of the phone pulls the shorts down and exposes my buttcrack on my run. Not a pretty sight. They are very lightweight and that is the only plus. The design A to F is an F. Really sorry I bought them.

Brief style lining was not comfortable. Back pocket was too small to fit my phone.

I wore these for one run and probably won?t wear them again. There?s very little elasticity in the waist and you have to cinch the drawstring very tight so the shorts don?t ride up. Also, the lining brief isn?t wide or stretchy enough in the front to secure the jewels comfortably.

I wanted to like these shorts. The old design is my favorite style and I don?t care for the new design. I don?t like the new waistband or the cut of the shorts. The liner feels different. The only improvements are the pocket size and location. I?ll use these shorts for short easy runs but not for long runs or speedwork. I wish I could order the old style.

Nice colors for the shorts. The fit was not as good as I was expecting. I bought another pair of brooks running shorts of the same size and their two were very different.

Shorts are great but the liner inside makes them unbearable to wear. Have gone back to wearing my lulu lemons
