I have run hundreds and hundreds of miles in every version of the Hoka Clifton (except the 4s, which c'mon, were ridiculous as Hoka started the Grand Clifton Redesign Project). The Clifton 7 is by far the worst version that has come out. I ran four times in this shoe and disliked it more every outing. Hoka decided to listen to the "short toebox" complainers and seems to have extended the toe area out about two centimeters. However, the new length of the toe box has been coupled with a sharper taper- meaning that the toe area tapers IN earlier, creating an uncomfortable rub on the outside of my toes, which I have never experienced in any Clifton. In short, it feels like I'm running in my swim fins. I was so convinced that the shoe size was mismarked that I went to a retail store to try on my regular size. (No difference). I also tried a smaller size, with no success. Hoka has been gradually reshaping the toebox since the Clifton 4, and this elongation changes the entire fit. Furthermore, this unnecessary flipper at the toe also means that the "roll" of the Clifton is now off. Instead of that gentle forward roll in the sweet spot of my mid foot (thank you Clifton 6), the 7 version now tries to create a "roll" somewhere too high under my big toe. It's like the shoe STOPS you when you are just launching into the GO position. Additionally, Hoka has (again) decided to try to be revolutionary with a tongue design. We're back to a sickly thick tongue that is now about 3 centimeters longer than necessary. It doesn't matter how much padding you put on a tongue- if it gouges in to the front of your ankle, which this one does, it's uncomfortable. (I've had lengthy conversations in my head during my long runs with this mysterious Clifton Hoka Tongue Designer- seriously- that thin razor tongue of the Clifton 3 and now this? Who ARE you?) I really did keep trying to love this shoe. The sole seems a bit more springy than the 6, but again, that's no help with such a poor fit.

Really uncomfortable at the tongue...presses on the top of the foot and there’s no adjusting.

Hoka has made a mistake with this new iteration of the Clifton.

First pair of my usual Hoka size was way too narrow. Compared it to my existing Hoka's and clearly the sizing is different. I returned the first pair and received a second pair in the Wide size. However, the second pair was USED! Even had a note in it with the name and order number of the individual who returned them (when did Zappos develop this problem?). So, returned the second pair. These shoes looked nice, but too much trouble to try a third time.

I have a long narrow foot and this particular style was too wide and bulky for my foot.

Both my BF and my podiatrist recommended HOKA and this is the second model I tried, but the anatomy of the shoe just doesn't work for me. I don't have wide feet but do need toe room. I tried a different HOKA in regular, then after trial run ordered these ones in a wide. Both styles were too wide in the heel and too narrow in the midsole. The arch support being done with the rubber sole instead of inside the shoe in a more flexible way dug into my arch and a little walk about the house was so uncomfortable I didn't even do a trial run in them. It was like these shoes were way too big for me except in the midsole they were still extremely and uncomfortably narrow. So weird.

I’ve been a long-time Clifton wearer. This variation has a very high heel cap that rubs the Achilles’ tendon. I had to return.

I had to return after about three weeks of wearing. I was wearing a Clifton 6 and it was soooo comfy. Time for new shoes, so I bought the Clifton 7. Three weeks into wearing them, I am in pain along the outside "blade" of my foot. I only hurt when I wear these shoes. I work in a hospital on my feet all day and after a day in these I can barely walk due to pain. I exchanged for a different shoes. Hopefully, the new shoes will be better.

These shoes squeak very loudly with each step. I have tried all kinds of different socks, different surfaces, inside and out, and nothing stops the squeak. I paid a lot of money for these running shoes and I am extremely disappointed.

These were my first pair of Hoka's and they got recommended to me by a coworker who seated by then. I really wanted to love these shoes but I hated them. I work 12hrs and I'm on my feet nearly the entire time. By hour 4 the shoes felt like they had deflated. Almost all of the cushion had been squished down and they became so uncomfortable. As far as support goes, I didn't feel much. They're extremely cushiony and soft and not really supportive

Very unhappy with Clifton 7. I have worn Clifton's in the past and truly love them. The new one has an attached tongue that cuts on the top of your foot. felt this minutes after wearing. Wish they wouldn't change what's good!

My right arch didn't seem to fit right with the shoe. Which is probably something with my feet vs the shoe being made correctly
Cool shoe, bummed it didnt work for me

I hate the back of the shoe sticking out. It feels like you have nothing supporting the back of your heel and it feels almost open in the back. It also makes your pants get caught on the shoe. Please go back to the way the Clifton used to be made. I sent it back and got the Bondi instead.

I was very disappointed with this shoe. I loved the clifton 6 but this shoe is far from that one. Its runs tight and gives me foot pain.

These are my third pair of Homs shoes. I love the appearance and comfort. I don't like the fact that they only last about three months before I get holes in the toes and inside padding.

The 7 version came with no loop at the heel to assist with putting them on. Also, the tongue doesn't raise as high as older versions, making it more difficult to put on and also made the toe bed seem smaller.

I was so excited about getting these shoes. I have worn the Hapuna's for a long time, and was ready to try something different. I put them on, and they felt amazing! Just walking around the house, they were great. My first workout, my heels started to hurt. Afterwards, I had blisters all the way around my heel. I didn't feel like the shoes were slipping any. I have tried leasing them two other ways, but continue to get blisters.

I got these August 14th, 2020. The inside heel has already worn out on both of them. The holes go all the way through to the outside part of the shoe and are quite painful to wear now. I was expecting for the price, that these would last a lot longer than that.

I loved my clifton 6 so I ordered the Clifton 7 but they fit totally different. The 7's are much longer and narrower.
I had to return them.

I was excited to get themes Cliftons, but no joke, these shoes hurt my feet in the first mile of running in them. They are narrow around the toe box and stiff. Usually, with new Hoka's, I am running happy from the start, but these shoes reactivated an old injury and cut my run short. I'm grateful for my local run shop for letting me exchange these shoes for the new Bondi, which feel like the old Cliftons.

I currently own a pair of Clifton's in a size 9 that I love. The Clifton's encouraged me to order another pair of Hoka's. I ordered a pair of Stinson's in a 9 and they are simply smaller than the Clifton's. Have tried to wear them but they feel about 1/2 size too small. Great shoe but does not fit. Could not recommend without trying them on first.

I was very excited to get my Hokas. Unfortunately after two weeks of running in them, they cause a sharp pain in front and back of shin that I have never experienced before.

I'm almost without fail a 7.5, in all types of shoes, pretty much always. I preordered a 7.5 because I couldn't find the white Hokas anywhere and I wanted to snag them before they sold out. They're pretty lose and I have a ton of room in the tow, I can't really run in them since they're too big. Now size 7 is sold out so I can't exchange. Super disappointed because they do feel really comfortable but definitely would've gone down a half size had I known. PLEASE RESTOCK so I can get the right size!!!!
