I am very pleased with the fit and comfort of this shoe. I wear 10.5 which is not always available, luckily this shoe size was available in this style. Coincidentally I ordered another Altra style in 10.5 however it was a bit short. There may be differences in size within the brand.

i work in retail, full time. i walk about 6 to 9 miles every shift. my right foot was in so much pain. i went to an orthopedic surgeon because the podiatrist mentioned surgery for planter fasciitis. He told me about Altra sneakers. I AM SO HAPPY!!! no more pain. the podiatrist recommended New Balance but that didnt work at all! The surgeon recommended Altra, thank goodness! I will NEVER buy another sneaker! thank you so much for making such a great product.

once you try Altras you won’t be buying anything but them. Took me a minute to get used to all the room for my toes because other brands don’t allow the toes to spread out like Altras. Highly impressed with these kicks. I don’t think I would use them for specifically for running because they don’t have as much support as an Altra running specific shoes, but I love them for a good casual/ weight training, errand running shoes.

I bought this as an everyday shoe so I could start to become accustomed to a 0 drop. My plan is to eventually start running in 0 drop shoes. I now LIVE in these. They are so comfortable. They have a perfect layer of cushion, but I'm still able to feel the ground and get plenty of stability from my own feet for single-leg workouts. Love!

I have been on the hunt for a really good pair of running shoes for a while. I have heard that having wider shoe is really good for your foot. I also wanted something more minimalist, with less bulky padding. These shoes definitely delivered. I would say they took some getting used to, but once I did they were great. I would buy again!

I can never find shoes that are wide enough in the toe box. I have a small foot but a wide step and my toes always feel squished no matter what, until I discovered Altras. I have the torin plush (for running, usually im a 7 in sneakers) but noticed that i needed more lateral support for other types of gym activities. The torins have a very cushy sole, but because of that it takes quite a bit of effort to maintain balance when using the elliptical or stair master. I purchased the solstice xt in a 7 and find these fit true to size. The solstice xt's are super light weight and the sole is flexible, however the heel cup seems a bit wide and not as snug as a running shoe would typically fit. These seem to have a shorter lacing pattern unlike like a running shoe, which may take some getting used to for me, but it seems this would allow more flexibility. Altra customer service also recommended the escalante racer as an alternative, which i ordered and they have a better heel fit but they were a bit more stiff and ran a half size too small on me. I haven't worn my soltice xt's to the gym yet but as of now they check all the boxes. And there's absolutely nothing better than a 30 day trial period!

I've had several pair of the Altra Intuition shoes, and absolutely loved them. I decided to give this shoe a try based on others reviews. I loved these even more than my Intuitions. So light and comfortable. I'm ordering another pair!

I got these for Christmas. I ran 14.5 in them the day after I got them, 10 the second day, 5 and another 10. They have left my feet feeling great. I have ran in snow and on wet trails in them, one day on the road. They are comfortable and very light weight which is huge for me. I am a fan and am ordering a second pair. I hope they stick around.

I have tried so many different shoes for cross training, from Adidas to Nike to Reebok, but really wanted a foot-shaped, zero-drop shoe. Every few months I would check Altra's web site to see if they had released an improved cross training shoe, and they finally did! This shoe is perfect for high intensity interval training. It is low enough to the ground and has enough lateral stability and traction for floor work and strength training. It has enough cushion for a few quick miles of running without the tread being too sticky, and it's flexible and breathable enough that I can perform almost any movement in complete comfort. There was no break-in period. It also travels well because it's light. And as always, my toes have plenty of room to splay. Thank you, Altria! Please don't stop making these.

Excellent light weight cross trainer. I wear this playing racquetball and various other workouts. Has great grip on the ground for agility (change of direction) movements. Also find comfortable for high intensity interval training and weight lifting. Perfect all around shoe. Have also gotten compliments on the style, which I haven't been able to say with past Altra shoes. Design has improved and I am a forever client! Comfort exceeds expectations for an active, former triple foot surgery, adult with rheumatoid arthritis.

I love my long runs and orange theory workouts and I just used it to run to the gym and got an amazing workout in them. Better grip and contact with the ground. Obsessed. My like them more than Escalantes

Re the size, I usually wear either a 9.5 or a 10. I had to go to the 10 in these. The style is really nice and I have received compliments on these shoes. I mainly use them for daily wear to work or for training, either weights or low impact cardio.

I got 1/2 size up because I wasn't sure if my toes would start to hit the end of the shoe as it wears. The foot shape is great for my boxy feet, I love that part. Thank heavens they offer wide. I do not like the arch, it feels like my entire forefoot is lifted and I am walking too far back on my heels. Very awkward and clumsy feeling. I have worn them for 6 months now, so I have become as used to them as I can. Also, I. normally wear flat shoes. I finally created an insert to raise the heel up a bit and walking feels a lot better. The arch still comes way too close to the toes and goes all the way across the sole instead of just the inside arch. Overall, I will probably buy some more for the footshape. I am female and wear size 10w.

The shoes are very comfy and I love the wider toe bed.
I would love them even more if they had better arch support.
When I walk for a long distance I get shin splints and sore ankles.
Did I purchase the wrong style of shoe??
Also, I would like to have had a white and navy with maybe a touch of lime green color option.

I wear these shoes for weight lifting and hiit. The no drop takes a little getting used to. I have noticed that mild back/ hip discomfort I had has gone away since I started wearing these shoes. I wear no show socks and these shoes eat them, my previous shoes have not. They are true fit shoe, I do have to search for shoes for a slightly wider fit and these are great. I would like to try other styles of Altra.

Bless these shoes (Women's Solstice XT). I no longer have to wear rubber toe guards from having my toes all smashed together when I'm playing Pickleball. LOVE the wide toe box and how light the shoes are. Had to go out and buy longer laces so I could double-tie them. Now, if you want to make the PERFECT Pickleball shoes (I know these are not dedicated to Pickleball, I'm just sayin'...), make a tough, slightly elevated heel that would allow you to push off and get those tricky shots. Thank you!

I like the shape of the shoe and how light weight it is. I'm not crazy about the amount of arch support they place in this shoe or how firm they made it. I have a lower arch foot and it can be aggravating. My mid foot should be able to be flexible and it feels like it's being lifted constantly.

Would like more arch support overall. Wearing this design, I have found after a month my foot starts to cramp. 4.5 should be comfortable.I wear them for four hours that my feet should not cramp.

I am a mid distance runner that uses these shoes for my cross train workouts and as flats for the track. They are fantastic and the zero drop really helps with the transition from flats to spikes.

I was looking for a cross training shoe with enough width in the toe box for my bunions. This would be such a great shoe if it weren't for the weird plastic caging on the sides and the plastic lace holders. I guess the plastic is there for lateral support, but the plastic lace holders dug into the tops of my feet. I wanted to try an alternate lacing pattern to fix that problem. But the laces are also really hard to remove, so I gave up. I really appreciate Altra's natural foot approach. I have a pair of Altra Lone Peaks for trail running, and I love them. I'm really disappointed that these didn't work out.

My only complaint is that the laces seem a bit short and have trouble staying tied.

I been wearing Altras for several years. Usually I wear the Paradigm for outdoor walking and running, but I got the Solstice for indoor weight training and aerobics. I received my order with a new pair Paradigms along with a pair of Solstice XTs. I ordered in my usual size. The Paradigm fit great as usual, but the Solstice was so much longer! In the attached picture, I'm flexing my big toe up to show the difference in length between the two shoes. So I do like the Solstice and think it will work well for my needs when I get the size that fits, but the size isn't consistent (at least not with the Paradigm). Hopes this helps if you are trying to figure out which size to order.

I wear size 8 and have worn the lone peaks series for a few years and never dissapointed me so I decided to try the Solstice to use for cross training, but I was a bit disappointed in the toe box and how narrow it was around the whole feet. Although the cushioning and style were great, but it just needs to be wider and could use a bit more sturdier material where the toes are.
