The bottom/soles of these shoes are amazing but the top isn’t well made. At the base where the laces start, it’s like a stretch sock but the seam is so tight that it presses on the top of the foot. I wore them three times on the treadmill thinking they would stretch, but they didn’t stretch at all. Today I stepped on the treadmill and they were so painful I stepped off and switched shoes. When I switched shoes, I noticed how great the soles of the shoes are but the top is unbearable. Maybe I got a bad pair? Ouch.

The new NB 1080 is lousy. They have redesigned it. The old ones were fantastic. I ran in them for years. If you use an orthotic forget this shoe now. This was my go to for years. The wide width is to tight now for an orthotic. The toe box is smaller and so is the mid section of the shoe. Way too tight. If you need a high cushion shoe their 840 is too hard but wider. The 880 has lost width as well and is a bit softer. Check out Saucony triumph instead for a high cushion running shoe.

My shoe size is a 4 1/2 ,narrow heel but 5B is the smallest size made in athletic shoes. A New Balance 5B usually fits , especially when I add orthotics. At first the fit felt pretty good, but when walking the heel hits hard (no cushioning) and the shoe seemed to get wider the more I wore them - thus less stability. I have a narrow heel and these shoes held the heel without rubbing - a primary reason why I purchased these shoes. In addition to the width, these shoes have a high arch built in but it doesn't fit with where my foot arch is. End result - returned.

I really wanted to love these shoes - Love the way they look - but it just didn't fit right. The heel kept slipping and the width in the toe box seemed narrower than others. I wore them to the zoo - and after walking in them all day, my feet hurt. I can't figure out why because I always buy the same size and width - and they ALWAYS fit. Guess it's the foam - not meant for me.

Had to return these. Very tight across top of my foot and around arch. I was looking for a replacement for my NB1500v3 . My toes started to hurt within 20 minutes of having shoes on. They do have cushion but something is not right with the support type.

I wanted to love this shoe but it was too tight on the top of my foot - and after a 3 mile walk I was nearly limping. The tongue is attached - maybe that contributed to the issue

I ordered a EE and they were way too tight around the arch. I could not foresee wearing these for any length of time without my foot going numb due to the tightness. If you have an extra wide foot with a high instep, I would reconsider purchasing this particular sneaker.

I am very disapponted in this shoe. This is the worst pair of New Balance I have ever bought. They are slightly smaller than 1080v9--maybe not a complete half size, but definitely narrower. The upward curve of the toes is much more pronounced than in 1080v9, and it actually affected the way I step. The material is also much more flexible than 1080v9. It is so flimsy that it is very frustrating every time I put the shoe on, because I have to wear an ankle brace. 1080v9 allowed the shoe to slip right over the brace, but this new material does not. I am very disappointed, because New Balance Fresh Foam 1080 used to be my go-to shoe. If 1080 v11 comes out and is still made this way, I will have to find a different type of shoe.

I was a solid 6.5 wide in New Balance 1080s through the 1080v8. The v10s are a different last. They’re longer. There was an extra inch or more above my toes. And they were tight across the top of my arch. Oh, well, I’ll have to find another running shoe. As always, great service from Zappos!

The toe box was too shallow and narrow. This rubbed my little toe on top. I take a wide in 1080s because they are shallow in the toe box (somehow that mitigated the depth) but now I may have to try the extra wide which is ridiculous because I don’t even have a wide foot! The last good model was the 1080v7. The V8 has a rock hard, unforgiving heel. The heel improved on this v10. Please NB I love the comfort but what are you doing with this toebox? Please widen it again and keep this heel!

Disappointed with the new balance 1080v10. I ran twice in it, first 8km, slight pain in the ankle. Second run 16km, after that blister on my ankle. Burning sensation on the ball of foot. I returned it. I love the last year model v9, I ran a marathon in it with no issues.

I sent the D width back and ordered a double E width, and I swear the double E width, was more narrow than the D width. So I've had to send those back as well.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks, or New Balance is what I normally always buy.

I ordered a pair of New Balance shoes in May through Zappos and since the second I put them on I wanted to write and complain about the quality but I haven't because I know nothing will be done about it. I started wearing New Balance running shoes about 4 years ago after I started jogging for weight loss. When I committed to run a half marathon I went and got fitted and found the Fresh Foam 1080 v7 provided stability and great support. Previously, I had spent no more than $40 on a pair of sneakers so spending $150 was a big deal. I loved these shoes so much I bought a second pair a couple of years later when I found I was getting foot and leg pain. The new pair was as great as the first and the pain resolved with new running shoes. Fast forward to May 2020 and I was overdue for new running shoes again. But I couldn't find the 1080v7 so I tried the 1080v10 instead. OMG are these horrible!!! Unfortunately, I wore them on a trail the first time and they got dirty so I felt like I couldn't return them to Zappos. They felt ok when I first put them on but 1/4 mile into a 2.5 jog my feet cramped terribly and were sliding all over the place. The width is WAY narrow in comparison to the v7 and the mesh constructions provides absolutely NO support! The only reason I wear them still is because I will not let myself spend another $150 on running shoes when I haven't even had these a year. I'm often wearing my old v7's instead even through they're completely beat and have no tread because the v10's are so so bad. I curse New Balance every time I walk or jog because it is just torturous. They're not even comfortable to do stationary weight work in, my feet cramp so badly. I wish there was a way New Balance or Zappos could replace these with something with better construction like the v7's!

These shoes are SUPER cushioned - you feel like you're sinking into the shoe with each step. Arch support is minimal. Despite ordering a wide width, these shoes were much too narrow in the mid foot and the upper was too tight. Will be returning.

Frustratingly narrower than New Balance's "Fresh Foam More" in the same 9EE. Don't know why a manufacturer can't make their own shoe sizes consistent.

I couldn’t even get my extra wide foot into the shoe! I don’t recommend this shoe unless you have smaller width feet and then order a much wider shoe than you normally would. I have no idea what the arch support is or if it is true to size lengthwise. The width is definitely narrower than what it should be.

Buyer Beware I bought these tennis shoes in a EE which is supposed to be super wide. They were so narrow I could not even get them on my foot!! Don't know How this mistake could happen I only wear New Balance so I don't understand. They are nice looking though.

If you are looking for a flip flop style of tennis shoe to wear to the beach, this shoe is great for you! The heel is made of loose, flimsy foam. Young minimalist, runner with no need for any support would be happy in this shoe. I wore New Balance shoes for many years, then I was forced to switch, due to style revisions by New Balance, to Brooks. Now Brooks has changed their shoe quality. I now wear Hoka!

This is the most comfortable athletic shoe I've ever worn! I've purchased two for me and two for my son. I was blown away with the overall comfort and prefer to wear them without a sock (which is not my norm). I wear a pair at work (I'm a surgical nurse) and a pair at home f(or walking). I want to buy the tangerine pair so badly!!!! The support is outstanding, the wide width is perfect and the fit is so comfortable!!! I have washed them in a front loading machine and they come out great!

Of all the athletic shoes I have purchased, this is my most FAVORITE! Comfortable, fits well, decent arch support, no additional gimmicks need to be added. I wanted to purchase another pair in a different color, but did not have my size. Oh well…

these have become my fav running shoes. I used to only buy ASICS. then switched to Brooks. I still love my brooks but these are a little more stylish and form fitting yet still provide the support o need to run.

I love this pair, I have had a right knee replacement, anticipating the same for the left knee. This is one of the most comfortable shoes I have had for daily wear, walking with my Labrador! It is springy, light, like walking on air! From a 76 year old.
I'd also recommend:
ASICS, Merrill - but I love my current pair of New Balance Fresh Foam best!
