I purchased several 1080 fresh foam style shoes in the past. They fit great, with a bigger toe box. The toe bar on this one hits the ball of my foot on one foot. I couldn’t get my other foot into the shoe. I will return these.

I got these shoes because after reading reviews of good shoes for planters fasciitis I decided to try them. I love these shoes but the toe is ripping. Zappos customer service is being very helpful!!!!

I’d heard these were tight in the midsole/arch area and have to say I agree. Ended up going with the first pair in a wide. Still a good fit for the heel, but the middle of my foot doesn’t feel so squished. First pair of wide shoes ever at age 37, but the comfort is worth the oddity!

Wow did I mess up. I loved this color so much I jumped. NB have always been my go-to shoe, I assumed they were all engineered the same. Fresh foam is all well and good, nice and soft, but ZERO of the support my foot needs and that always kept me with NB. 150 wasted. Live and learn - it’s the 880s and 860s that still have the underneath engineering I’m looking for.

Always been a die hard NB Fresh Foam 1080 girl. These disappoint me. Felt narrow, not as cushy and just feel like I wasted $150. While the design is nice, the overall feel of this version is a fail for me. NB needs to go back to the drawing board.

New Balance has changed the 1080’s too much for me with their v10 version! I am not a runner, but I have relied on the 1080s since injuring my big toe joint a few years ago. The toe of the v10 now is a more extreme rocker toe, so your toe will be curved up even while at rest. Probably fine for runners, but just enough constant pressure on my joint that I must now return them and search for a new shoe.

With my injured knees, I was looking for a Hoka-type shoe, that is, one with thick soles and a cushiony ride that would come in narrow. These shoes can not hold a candle to my Hokas in terms of quality or absorbing shock to protect my knees. Style-wise, these are very nice and I am grateful that they came in narrow but they are more like leisure wear than serious exercise shoes. The foam is hard. The narrow fits great in the heel area but is about 1/4 inch too wide in the ball of the foot area. Also, these seem more like a cheap sneaker I could find in a big box store than a shoe I could find in a sporting goods store. I am left wondering what is so great about "Fresh Foam."

I have been a Zappos customer for at least 15 years. As of the last year or so I found that the quality of the New Balance sneakers has not been up to it's standards. I usually pay between $100. and $150 for sneakers. I have neuropathy, arthritis and have had various foot surgeries and the shoes always suited me well. I am now in search of a different and hopefully better brand.

Don't like new heel. Doesn't work well with orthotics. It's too short. Slips off heel when walking. Please bring back the heel of Version 8.

Like someone else mentioned the toe bed is low and more narrow than usual for a med. width new balance shoe. I don't have a wide foot but had to check my order to see if I accidentally ordered narrow, I didn't. I got the med. width but these feel very tight. Not sure if they would stretch out much after use and for $150. I don't really want to take the chance that they don't. I got the lavender color, not a bad combo of colors. They look nice but really squeeze at the top of the foot where there's elastic under the laces. I really love some of my old new balance shoes for their comfort and style but lately the shoes are very inconsistent and I've returned more than I've kept unfortunately. I found the Roav to be more accurate in sizing, these are narrow and tight under lacings.

I tried the 7, 7.5 regular width then the 7.5 W because those were too narrow. I have no wide shoes so this is unusual. I got the wide but unfortunately although everywhere else fits, it cuts in under my ankle especially on the left side. It’s bound to give me a blister so unfortunately after trying to find the right fit I will be returning all of these shoes.

There were so many positive reviews that I had to try them. I hated them. They were terribly uncomfortable, with my feet going numb every time I wore them. I tried lacing/tying them several different ways, and kept thinking I just need to break them in...but no such luck. I even went up a 1/2 size. I supinate so perhaps they don’t work well for supination? But they made my feet numb so back they went...and I got the Brooks Ghost 13 instead.

I wanted to love these for the cushion-y comfort they promise but the toe box was so freakishly narrow I couldn’t get comfortable in them even for a short, relatively easy walk + run. The arch felt great, the heels felt great, and they do provide excellent cushion (I’m nursing a knee injury and trying to find lightweight running shoes that offer better than average cushion and support). These just didn’t measure up. I have slightly narrow feet to beging with and I could barely even wiggle my toes in these. So sad.

I had the v9 and the fresh foam more v1, both fit me perfectly in a 8D. These v10s fit completely different. The toe box is longer and it comes to an awkward point. Overall, they fit too tight in every direction, especially mid foot, despite me ordering the wide. I shouldn’t have to go up a size because I’ve had my foot measured at an official new balance store where I got the v9s and they said I was an 8D. So disappointing of new balance’s design direction. If you are prone to plantar fasciitis, which I am, you should stick to your true size to ensure the proper location of arch in the shoe relative to your foot.

Fit and size were fine. I have worn them 2 times for about 6-8 miles each time and I need to send them back. (New Balance guarantee) I have the NB 1080V9, and these really bother my forefoot (on both wears, numb and painful 2nd-4th toes. The 1080V9 have not done that to me ever, thinking the padding at the forefoot is different. They are really cute though!

I have been wearing NB 1080 for About 10 years and have loved them. They redesigned the shoe and now they feel tight and hurt my feet. Super disappointed. Definitely won’t be wearing them anymore

Mostly I really like these shoes. But, there is a very tight spot on the top of the shoe where the tongue is attached. It’s making it feel like I made a very expensive mistake. I’m going to try and figure out a way to stretch out the tight spot and make these work. Thinking much more about shopping local.

These shoes are very comfortable and good for running. However, after only 120 miles of pavement/sidewalk running I have visible wear on both heels. I am not a heavy heel striker at 5’3” and 113#. I am buying my Brooks next time.

I used to love the fresh foam 1080, however, the design is different and I found the heel very narrow and quite painful.

i wanted to love them, but they're not a good match for my feet. Great shock absorbtion but inadequate stability. The shoe is like wearing nothing and my feet slid and had no support.

These New Balance shoes did not work for me. I am having trouble with one of my heels right now and wasn’t able to get comfortable in these. Nice looking shoe. Wish they would have worked.

Comfort: like a snug, cushioned beach slipper! Soft and comfy. I have a very narrow (AAAA, SS) foot and it was a great fit in the narrow/2A in the heel and across the vamp and did not look or feel bulky like many NB models. I usually wear the NB W860 but was looking for black and its out of stock. If I were looking for a shoe just to wear around, this would be perfect. However, it did not have enough stability for me as I like a stiffer athletic shoe for support. I did find success with the Asics GT2000 in a narrow.
