I gave this shoe 3 stars for comfort because the right shoe is giving me problems where the tongue is sewn to the shoe. It's causing soreness on the top of my foot even after loosening the laces. I'll continue to wear it short distances and hopefully it will stretch. Otherwise, it's an awesome shoe with great support!

Almost perfect. But that bump in the back of the heel just won't work, so back they go. Everything else was wonderful. Great cushioning, lower heel drop, which I like, and they come in narrow!! I do think they run a bit long. I usually wear a 10 Narrow and needed a 9 1/2 in these. If it wasn't for that weird bump I would but like 4 pairs!

The shoe fit great as I am a big fan of New Balance but I buy a half size larger than my regular shoes.

NARROW review: Man, these are truly narrow shoes! I have a narrow foot (and ordered my proper sizr) and they might have worked for me if not for the fact that I wear partial orthotics. Because the tongue is secured in place with elastic, that made theymtoo tight to wear--even without socks. Returned.

I was amazed I could not even get my foot in the shoe with socks on. With nylon stocking I could, and shoe has great heel cushion. Runs short. Not sure why heel comes up so high. I have super narrow feet and heels so it could be a plus keeping my heels from slipping if they were big enough. I felt like Cinderella’s step sister trying on the shoe!

Not comfy on the top of my foot where I’d had a bone fused. Hot, not great arch support. I believe these are made in China. The quality is not what I would have expected from New Balance.

I keep being prompted to write a review, but I wanted to actually try these shoes long enough to write an honest review as I depend on other reviews when I make a purchase. When I ordered this shoe I was under the impression it was a stability running shoe. I wore them inside the house for the first week and they were fine once I put orthotics in. However, when I wear it jogging or walking 4-5 miles my right foot begins to hurt. I looked down when jogging and that foot definitely pronates, even with orthotics. I like the look and fit of the shoe and love that it is lightweight and cushioned (though the orthotics do take away some of the cushioning), but I am going to have to search for another option for a jogging shoe. I wore Asics Gel Kayanos for many years, but they recently stopped making them in narrow, leading me to try another brand. I think these will be fine for just wearing around with jeans, but for jogging or walking 4+ miles I will need to search for a real stability shoe. If you do not have an issue with pronation, etc., these are a very nice shoe.

The box of the shoe felt like the 1080 v8 I loved but they are too tight around the instep. I had to return them.

I ordered a 9w and the shoe fit with enough room in the toe box. My biggest complaint which might just be because of my arch height, the shoe is incredibly tight across the top of the foot. I’ve tried loosening the laces as well as re-lacing the shoe entirely with no success. This is a shame because I feel this would be a perfect shoe if only it didn’t fit so snug.

Unfortunately the tongue on these shoes is very short. About half way down the laces, the tongue just becomes part of the upper, which makes the top of the shoe tight and unadjustable. I don't have high arches, and I still felt like I wouldn't be comfortable running in these because the top was very present on top of my foot.

So I traded in a size 7 (my normal size) for a 7.5. Though the toe area felt better, the arch and laces seemed snug, but not uncomfortable when I tested around the house. Thank goodness for the 30-Day Running Shoe guarantee! I thought I was keeping the shoes, so took them on a long walk outside today. My loop is 90 minutes, and 30 minutes in, I knew there was a problem. The snug mid-shoe area was putting my feet to sleep! It was NOT good. The rest of the walk was really uncomfortable. So back these go. Though the styling is great, and the cushioning felt lovely underfoot, the fit just didn’t work. Back to my beloved Hoka Ones!

Were closest shoe to the 1540v I have been wearing for years, but after wearing for 2 days, I realized they ran short in toe area.

The 1080 has less support in the toe bed than it used to. Too bad, use to be a great shoe, but I can't wear them anymore.

Material was great

I usually take an 8 or 8 1/2 in shoes. Based on reviews I ordered an 8 1/2 in these but they were actually too small! They felt at least a half size too small. I was really shocked because I never have to order a 9 in ANY shoes. Other than that, they felt like they would be a comfortable shoe with a nice balance of cushioning and support. I also thought they were pretty cute.

I wanted to love these shoes - I'm a big New Balance fan. HOWEVER - the heel pull tab in the back gaps so far open that when I run, gravel flies up and lands in the gaping cup and funnels into my shoe. I had to stop several times to take my shoes off to dump sidewalk/asphalt gravel out of my shoes. I think the gaping open back is a poor design for runners. Unfortunately, I will be sending these shoes back. I will try another New Balance shoe since I'm a loyal New Balance runner.

Its my favorit shoese!

10aa is perfect fit BUT, a new configuration on the side loose pieces around the outside ankle interior has put blisters and a very uncomfortable feeling on the ankle area. Have tried every versions of Sox, even a small piece of duct tape to find some comfort. When I first tried them on they felt great. Unfortunately after my first walk I found this flaw unbearable. I have worn NB exclusively for years and this is my first disappointment. So sad I wore them outside. Perfect shoe other than this problem. Just wasted $118. ?

I had high hopes for this shoe but the built in tongue is too constricting.

The 1080 had always been my go-to running shoe, but they seem to have changed the fit with this version. The 6.5 wide used to be perfect. They are still a beautiful shoe that fits nicely around most of the foot, but they no longer fit around my high instep. Trying to adjust the laces made the shoe feel unstable. :(

These were 1/2 size too small. I normally wear 8.5 but these were a little too tight. They seem like they offer good support so I'll try them in a larger size.

The heel was too wide and my toes touched the end of the shoe.

I have ordered this style several years but this time I'm very unsatisfied. I do not like the tall piece in the back but mainly I'm unable to wear the shoes because of the change in the lacing area. The three lace holes closest to the toe are only for decoration. The tongue is sewn to the shoe at this point and I am unable to get my high instep into the shoe without great difficulty. Once on the shoe is comfortable but this is not something I care to struggle with each day when I get ready to exercise. They are going back and I'm hoping I find a better fit with a different shoe.

I wanted to love these shoes and they fit great overall but the tongue is connected to the bottom of the shoe and that was a dealbreaker. I wore them around the house for a little while, everything seemed fine at first. But then because the top of the shoe pressed down tightly sooner than later it cut off the circulation in my feet. The sole was great and very cushiony. The length and width--other than the tongue were also fine. Just the one detail that made them unwearable.

I have worn several versions of New Balance Fresh Foam shoes, and I was very satisfied with all of them. Unfortunately, the location of the seam across the top of the foot has been moved. The seam used to be located pretty much at the intersection of the toes and foot, but has migrated a little bit farther up the foot. The new location of the seam puts pressure on my foot which causes my foot to tingle and feel pinched. I have high arches, so this probably won't affect most people, but it is definitely a no go for me. Grrrrr! I really liked all prior versions of these shoes!
