Mesh fore foot is very elastic, I do not care for tab at back of shoe and arch was not high enough so laces had to be adjusted to keep from pinching.

I ordered a pair, waisted a week or so and then was told it was out of stock. Not great. There's a disconnect between ordering and fulfillment.

Great cushion. Great look. Someone dropped the ball designing the heel . It rubs terribly against the inside and outside of Achilles tendon. I really wanted to like the shoe, just too much discomfort wearing them.

One of the most uncomfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever owned. Looked great but were terrible on my feet.

1080 has been my go-to for years, but the V10 has a serious flaw (at least for me). There is a band running across the top of the shoe about 2/3 way down the tongue that binds. Loosening the laces does nothing and this appear to be a structural component of the shoe. I can still run in them, but what I always loved about the 1080 was the combo of comfort and performance. The comfort part if now gone.

I have very wide foot and have old pair of running shoes that are 4E wide. I ran in them for the first time after putting 5 walking miles in them. I have blisters on my foot. New Balance couldnt spare a few milometers of width foam, instead they cut corners. Disappointing for a shoe this expensive.

New Balance ruined this shoe. I've loved the previous several versions. But on this one, V10, NB changed the overall shape and fit. Most notably, NB ran some stitching over the top middle of the shoe that causes discomfort over the top of the foot.

While I love there Fresh Foam base, I do not like the changes added inside the shoe that penalizes a person like myself with a very high instep. All I could do to wear the shoe was to cut the internal elastic band inside the shoe. I liked the way 1080v9 fit much as well as the better.

I have had these a little over a 2 week, I am already starting to notice them to be worn down and seems like they will not hold up very long.

I normally love NB running shoes. I have two pairs of the V9's and I love them. These however miss the mark. I originally got a standard width and the toe box was way more narrow than the V9. I returned these and ordered wides with the hope that would solve the problem. When I received them I walked around my house with them for the day and the felt better so I took them on a couple runs. That was when the trouble started the heel slip in these is terrible and no matter how I tie them my toes get smashed into the toe box and my heels are raw after anything more than 3 miles. Now I am stuck with shoes o can't use as I have worn them. I don't suggest ordering these and guess I will just hope for next years version to fix the terrible changes they made this year!

Hi, I ordered the 1080v10 online as from what my physio told me, it would have been great for my type of foot. Everything was fine but after 2-3km I starting to have pressure pain on the top of the Left foot and had to stop running. The next day I tried again and same thing. I've been using these shoes for the past week trying different ways of "fixing it" and I can't go past 5km without having to stop due to pain. Unfortunately since I already used the shoes, I can't send them back. I know some people love those but I guess it just doesn't work for me.

The shoe is too tight for running. Maybe a half size up would help. I have planter fasciitis and these shoes didn’t do well for me on a short run. Therefore I need to send them back.

Super narrow. These felt like a Nike shoe. The style is really nice and they look great. The fresh foam and the shoe itself would be nice to just wear and walk around in, but these are terrible running shoes. Foot slides all over the place, perfect storm for blisters. I wore once and immediately returned because these are not the style of shoe I could ever run in. Beware of the marketing/sales trap on these shoes. I hated them. Back to Hoka.

As someone who has owned more than 10 pairs of Fresh Foam shoes over the years, v.10 was the first time that I was disappointed. The new heel tab is very strange and I found the shoes to be too small. As soon as I put the shoes on, I immediately felt the back of both of my heels rubbing against the shoe. I literally had them on for less than a minute before deciding to return them. I didn't wear them long enough to evaluate the width of the shoes (I had 4E)
Please note that the pair of shoes I received had an Amazon LPN label on it, which means that someone else returned this pair of shoes before me. So clearly I'm not the first person who was disappointed with this EXACT pair of shoes.
When two people return the same item, you know something is wrong with it.

This is the fourth pair of 1080's I have owned and the quality of each successive pair seems to be diminishing. The shoes overall are very comfortable. However, the sole material has definitely changed and is much softer know meaning that it is going to wear out quicker. I wore these for the first time on April 22 and in that time I have approximately 100 mikes on them. The white part of the sole in the area of the insole I already starting to abrade. This will be the last pair of 1080's I purchase and these may the last pair I buy from New Balance.

I've worn these shoes through several different versions. The latest version doesn't give the toe box stability that previous models do. It is an overall good shoe but you need to incorporate some of the old design into the new.

I have had several pairs of prior versions of this shoe and they were fine. The new version has an elasticized band around the forefoot. This might keep the shoe snug on others but it cut into and irritated my foot where I've had surgery and made the shoe unwearable. Otherwise, they're fine.

Significant change to this shoe compared to previous version in having the 'sock' fit vs being not. I find this design uncomfortable and restricting. Prefer ability to control with normal tie system. Feels narrow and my foot is not wide.

1st issue: There's a seam at the bottom of the tongue that adds a lot of pressure (and now pain) to the top of my foot. I've had to retire these shoes after a week of wearing them.
2nd issue: The flared-out heel tends to capture debris (rocks/twigs) that gets kicked up into it. Then the debris drops into the shoes, which then I have to dig out. I don't run on trails, just the roads.
Foam: This is not an issue just a preference. The foam on the 1080s isn't squishy like my HOKA Clifton 6s. It's soft, but doesn't have much energy return. I'm a heavier runner, and like a little energy rebound. Just a little squish like the Cliftons would be nice.
What I like: The knit material makes the shoes comfortable. If it wasn't for the painful seam, these would be my most comfortable running shoe. I also like the 8mm drop. That's the highest drop that I care to go.

These shoes have a different adjoining seam at the bottom of the tongue that the prior generations did not have. There is a seam below the last set of eyelets connecting the tongue to the top of the shoe that is somewhat thick, and a killer to me. The top of my feet hurt a lot. I tried a few different thicknesses of socks in hope of rectifying, and it felt the same.
I think the last generation of this shoe was much better.

I bought these in 10.5 extra wide because i have numbness in my toes due to tight shoes and width wise they are great. I thought everything would be ok but upon running in them, the part where the sewing of the tongue begins is really tight and digs into the upper part of your foot, exactly where plenty of nerves pass and they make my feet numb just the same. The shoe itself is fine, plenty of cushion, support is great, no heel slippage like in the v9 for me. The design though where they chose to put the tongue and the fact that it's sewn all around is what makes me want to burn these shoes. Back to the drawing board NB!

This shoe not for me. Fit is great, true to size. The sole is too soft for my taste. I am 6'7 and 240 so this may be due to my weight. The outer heals felt like they buckled to the side.

They are comfortable enough, but I run around 20 miles a week and after 2 months the soles are worn out. I normally get 350-500 miles out of my Nike Pegasus. I asked the salesman at the store how durable they were and he said I should get 350 miles out of them. I think I'm just gonna have to go back to the Nike's I can't afford to buy a new pair every 2 months.
