The v10s were a disappointment coming from the v9s. The shoe is much rounder, and the new heel tab is weird. Base comfort is about the same, but the new uppers feel a little too tight. As far as I'm concerned this shoe peaked with the v9.

I have been a long time fan of the 1080 line. However, the v10 is a major disappointment due to construction / materials used. When I took them out of the box, they looked strange because the tread was actually recessed below the cushion of the shoe. I immediately had a concern about how well they would last. However, I decided to trust them since I have been wearing 1080’s for at least 5 years. Keep in mind, I only walk in the shoes - about 4.5 miles a day. Sure enough, after about 180miles, the treads are worn out and I am actually grinding down the cushion (foam). Something isn’t right.

While I was i the service, I unknowingly had chronic compartment syndrome which can cause all manor of different symptoms. Pain from constant training and exercise was just something I was used to. Over a decade ago, one of my Airmen suggested I try out going directly to the local New Balance store and get assistance picking the right shoes for the tasks I was doing. I bought one pair for running and one for walking (the equivelent to the 1080's), and I have never looked back. I've bought a new pair every 6-8 months (depending on use) and other than a minor surgery that helped with my running later, the 1080's made my walking as comfortable and productive as possible. When weather permits, I generally walk between 3-5 k per day. Including this current model, I've never had a pair that didn't meet my expectations for comfort and durability.

I really wanted to keep these because walking in them felt like you were walking on a cloud. The width was good, and I liked the color. However, there was no arch support and my feet felt as though they were sliding from side to side. If you have a good arch and don't need a shoe for stability, then this might be your shoe. Sadly, it wasn't mine.

Absolutely love these shoes. About 20 miles in so far and my feet have never felt so good! Ready to go right out of the box, with no wear in needed. No heel slippage, foot felt locked in, and the Fresh Foam midsole is super forgiving when running on pavement. Can't wait to get more miles on these!

The 1080 line gets better and better each year, and I thought it was great two years ago! I am a size 16 underpronator, and not only are these shoes great for running or walking, they don't look big on my feet! My back feels great after each workout. The only detail that some may not like with the v10s is how high the back end of the shoe is. They may not hang nicely over your khakis or jeans, which means you may lose some style points.

Great upgrade for the 1080 line of running shoes. These are great pair of training shoes. The cushion is unbelievable. You can run miles in these and still want to keep going. The new heel construction is a huge plus for not getting blisters.

Great shoes that perform above average regarding running shoes that I have purchased in the past. Only thing is make sure and purchase a 1/2 size to full size larger than normal as it seems (for me at least) that these shoes run a little on the small side. Other than that exceptional running shoes!!

The toe box is a bit on the narrow side and I made the mistake of wearing thicker running socks on my first ride with them. That caused the toes to crunch together and some numbness. Plan on thinner socks and you should be good to go. Got the EE extra wide and it was perfect.

I ordered these after a satisfactory experience with 1080v9. A couple comments. The length (I take an 11 1/2) felt a little closer in the toe box that my v9. Like other commenters, the flared heal catches the back of my pant legs, so although I bought these for walking, the heel catch makes for a goofy look for that part of me that has some fashion sense. Overall liked the v9 better but the cushioning overall in these shoes and overall fit had me keeping the v10. 4.5 for the v10 versus a 5.0 for the v9.
I'd also recommend:
Some Hoka, some ASICS.

Show felt great for the first three weeks. Then the heel tab (which is sort of split to begin with) started to separate on my left shoe. Ended up that my heel was coming out of my shoe with every step. If they could fix the heel, these shoes would stars for sure.

These are my favorite shoes in a long time. Unfortunately, they have worn extensively in just 2 months of owning them. The material quality and durability is unacceptable.

I ran 70 miles in this shoe and loved the fresh foam x and knit upper. I wanted to love this shoe so much, but the stupid heel cup! It blustered my heels to the point they were bleeding! If only the heel cup was different this would have been very close to a perfect trainer.

Use for medium to long distance running. Smooth riding and great cushioning with a bit of responsiveness when you pick up the pace. For reference, I have a narrow "B' width foot and found the mid-foot (size 11 D) near the bottom of the laces kinda tight because of elastic bands inside the shoes. Cannot loosen up with the laces, so I went with lighter socks and solved the problem. New Ultra Heel has worked great for me-no slipping. I did find the toe box a little too narrow for my splaying flat feet and hope the v11 widens this area a little. Overall, a great shoe that has worked well for me! Will purchase the v11 soon.

I have had these shoes for several months and have been very impressed with not only their comfort but their ability to maintain that comfort over months of hard use. They offer great stability, cushion and are very light. Don't hesitate to get into these, they won't disappoint!!

My plantar fasciitis was driving me crazy and this shoe gave me the relief I needed. After 5 months of wasting money on a large variety of insoles, my wife told me to check these out after reading a number of reviews. They are giving my heel the support and shock absorption they need to heal. The fit and width are perfect for my foot and they hug your foot like a sock.

I love these shoes. For running they are SUPER fast. Lightweight and nice cushion that doesn’t feel squishy. I also like that these shoes look good as a regular shoe in addition to being a great running shoe.

The Fresh Foam 1080v10 is the most comfortable running shoe I've ever used. Well-cushioned - especially in the heel - with good supoort in the arch. Shoe upper fits my foot very well aith plenty of toe-room. Good for running and cross-fit.

One of the best cushioned running shoes that I have ever worn. Nice balance of cushion and stability with a glove like fit. Only drawback is the outer sole is wearing after 300 miles. Still an outstanding shoe that I would recommend .

Huge upgrade from the 1080v9. The main areas upgraded are the fit, feel while running, and also the weight. Lighter, more responsive, and better overall fit. These "hug" your heel and give you a more secure feel than the prior version. I also feel these are a bit more responsive. Overall, more firm than a HokaOne, but still plenty of cushioning and a good feel while running. Not bulky feeling like the V9. Durability is still a question mark as I just got these, but a fan so far.
