Customer Reviews New Balance Fresh Foam 1080v10

I walk 5-6 days, 45 miles/week at a very quick pace, I have skinny, bony, high arch feet (10 , D). Historically I wore Asics but frequently had sore feet, so tried NB 847v3s, now have 600 miles on them and they need replacing. After much research, I focussed on 847v4s, 880v10 and 1080v10s. When I tried them on I found the 1080s to have a much softer feel. Now after 14 days of use (110 miles) I like them a lot. They fit my feet very well, they have a softer, more cushiony feel when striding. Now. I no longer have feet soreness. My main concerns when I bought the 1080s: would the soft sole hold up on hard use (so far minimal wear); would the "Bootie upper construction" be a problem (don't see the advantage of it but not a problem so far, but I have to sit down and loosen the laces and spread the sides to put them on); and would the new Ultra Heel design be beneficial (initially I was very skeptical & didn't like the look of it, but yes I like it, my heel usually moves in shoes but much less with this design, and the material of the inner heel wears much better than the 847s). So bottom line: I really liked the 847v3s and would recommend them (4-4.25 stars); I love the 1080s! If they handle my hard use for the next 200 miles I will rate them 4.5 - 4.75 stars, and will definitely rebuy them in future (something I have never done before). If you do a lot of walking or are on your feet all day I recommend you try on the 847v4s and the 880v10s, and if you are willing to spend a few more bucks, I without hesitation highly recommend you try the 1080v10s. I rarely do online product reviews, but really like these shoes, and after reading hundreds on NB customer reviews (most of which provided no info and did not help in my decision process) I decided to try and provide some constructive feedback.

I ordered these in an extra wide width and I have always had success in fitting into NB shoes. These "4E" width shoes are definitely narrrower than any similar width NB shoes I've purchased in the past. To make matters worse, the tongue is stitched in across the width of the shoe just up from the ball of the foot. This stitching prevents the shoe from stretching in width at this point creating an uncomfortable fit. I'll be returning these.

I bought the shoes to help with the pain in my feet but by the 3rd day of wearing them the foam souls have already compressed they don't have any spring to them any more. But still a nice light shoe but I wouldn't buy them again
