I have put 100 road miles on these. I generally use for shorter runs 4-5 miles and started using them for 8-10 mile runs and that where the issues started. I strike mid sole and the left shoe seems to have some issue as I feel a pressure point that becomes evident. I my last 2 runs of 9-10 miles I have started feeling shin splints. Not good. I'll have to put these on the short run list. I really liked the 1080v8. v9 ok but small toe box as well as this model.

I'm not sure what is going on with the heel of this foot but it is excruciatingly painful for me. Maybe it's my foot or maybe it's the strange lack of cushioning approach NB decided to take with the heel. The cushioning in the sole is less than par in my opinion too (though I have felt worse).
I will add, to not be Mr. "Negativity", that the arch is very comfortable. Additionally, these shows have great airflow which is good for my abundance of sweat.
Unfortunately, I regret buying these. I think maybe I was just expecting something more. Bad first NB experience. Kind of bummed.

I switched to New Balance as I've always been a fan. Got these for triathlon training and I've developed shin splints since adding these. I started out light on the transition and ramped up over the weeks but it's still a big issue.

The shoe is good, but not the right fit for what I want.
My foot caves in and I get serious ankle pain.
This Is a unbiased review, I also got them a size too small, so maybe that's why I get ankle pain. But then again maybe it's my stride. I just ran 18 miles recently and that felt horrible after about 10 miles. I knew I should've returned them and ordered a bigger size but I was impatient. I would definitely order again in the right size in the future! The shoes are comfortable for walking around with. I will continue to use them and see how I feel about them after 100 miles.

The fact that we were put through much inconvenience dampens things. We bought my wife shoes at the NB balance store in Naples, brought them home to Toronto, she wore them once causing blisters on both heals, returned next season to the store in Naples who refused to give any allowance, had to take pictures & submit them then had to use the credit given to buy something online!
Not what you would call customer friendly.

Mostly walking, some light jogging. The size is great as I wear a 13- 2E and the inside is very comfortable and good to size. The bottoms are hard when you step down and a little rigid. Some more softness and flexibility would be good

Love most NB shoes especially made is usa styles. This was something I would not buy again because price was to high and did not fit well

I love the way the shoes look and the sole is nice and comfortable but the elastic band (I think it is that) placed inside the shoe near the shoe lace area is too tight. After wearing the sneakers for 10 hours straight, I could feel my feet getting swollen because it was too tight. All my Sneakers are standard width.

I was a little surprised at the v10 NB Freshfoam, the v9 fit great, this one is narrow and very true to size. Additionally, the back tab is awkward.

Thought these might work well for some my middle distance runs, but they ended up giving me shin pain every time. It’s weird because the Fresh Foam is really cushioned, so I don’t think it’s that. Maybe it’s just my gait with these shoes, but they don’t work well for me. Also, the Fresh Foam seems to get really firm in cold weather (freezing or colder). That said they’re an incredibly comfortable walking/everyday shoe.

1080v10 is not as comfortable as prior version. The heel thing that sticks up seems to serve no purpose for me.

I love this shoe except for one thing -- the heel. Why did NB need to mess with the heal? I know it looks more trendy, but my heel slips out of it with every step. I will be returning for a different (hopefully just as comfy) shoe.

The back part of the shoe, where the heal is, broke about a month having the shoe. Shoe is comfortable and does support my high arch.

My son opened this last night. He was not wild about the redesign. The shoe was not as comfortable, and the funky heel made the shoe ride differently on his foot. I wish I could return them.

Very cushy and supportive shoe, but there was a part on the inside that destroyed my foot with blisters. I tried thick socks and tape, but nothing helped. This issue ruined an otherwise nice shoe.

I have had 2 prior versions and 3 pair of the 1080. V9 was the best cushioning and lasting of them all. I bought these expecting great things. The cushioning seems even better but the deal breaker is the heel. It has very little padding, a hard ridge around the cup that digs into my heel. Please please go back to the past design or the more traditional padded heel design. And all frilly scrolling work on the side is quite annoying as well from a looks standpoint.

I received my new shoes and tried them on. They were too short for my 11.5 foot, despite being promoted as 11.5 2E. Now I just happen to have a 10 year old pair of New Balance Model 1024 running shoes. The shoes I bought along time ago and just kept in the closet. The Model 1080 I bought is the 2nd generation of the 1024 according to your website. These shoes do not compare for quality of construction, the materials it is made from, nor the fit of the older model. Frankly I am disappointed in your shoe, it seems there were compromises made to keep the cost competitive and they have cheapened the product. I paid top dollars for my old shoes when I bought them and would again for a pair of sturdy running shoes that fit well. I returned the shoes with a shipping label provided by the NB website with a drop off at UPS on Monday Nov. 2, 8 days ago, but have not received an acknowledgement from NB that the product was received.

After a few months of running, the bottoms of these shoes are completely worn down and used up. Normally it takes over 8 months to show wear if any, and I normally retire the shoes before that. But since buying 5 months ago, these look super worn. And the fabric is easy to get dirty and does a great job of retaining dirt so they look even worse. Cheap bottoms, poor materials choice and these shoes are used up!

I ran in 1080 years ago with very good results. I was disappointed in these. Right out of the box I went out for a 5 miler and made it about a mile and a half before my knees started hurting. I also have a very narrow heel and the new type of heel is not made for narrow heels. It is a good shoe for walking, but not running. Comfortable and looks good.

Had to return them. Have been wearing the 1080 fresh foam for several years. Used to run in them, walk or light hiking mostly these days. I put a lot of wear on them and really like the extra wide size. Thought the v9 was a great shoe. Unfortunately, the v10 was a disappointment. The upper construction is very light, I'm sure to shed weight, but too flimsy for my use. The top eye laces are not reinforced and cut into the top of my foot. Shoe also felt more narrow than previous 1080's which is a problem for my extra wide foot. If you intend to long distance run only and width is not an issue these shoes may be fine for you but didn't work for me. May try the 880's.

I know I have a narrow foot. It's a problem finding shoes that fit and its been that way my whole life. I have to order shoes because no one carries narrow width in a store. When I order a narrow and lace them up I shouldn't get the same bunching in the top of the shoe I get from a medium width. The B width I purchased were not even close to narrow.

I owned the previous generation of this shoe, and loved it. I put in some serious miles, and my feet were very happy. But when I upgraded to the newest version, I was disappointed. The fit through the toes feels very lose, which has caused a lot of discomfort on long runs. I'm not sure if it's an issue of the fabric being a little too elastic, or if the toe box has been widened, but this just doesn't feel like the same 1080 I loved, and I wish I hadn't bought these.
