I'm 65 (5'10" & 225) and wear the 1080s for walking exercise around my neighborhood and wear them with casual attire when I'm out and about. I bought 1080s last year in 2019 and absolutely loved them. Previously I owned a pair of Brooks Beast shoes. The Brooks were so stiff I had a stress fracture in my toe bones that obviously took some time to heal. I found the 1080s and really liked them because they gave me support and would "give" enough so as not to injure my foot again. I ordered a size 12.5 4E because they fit well and I have somewhat of a high volume foot. After enjoying the 2019 1080s I bought another pair in April this year. New Balance redesigned them and in doing so put a restrictive stitch across the tongue of the show. This stitch across the top arch of my foot was too restrictive for my "high volume" foot. I thought about returning them and looking for some other shoe. I had ordered them online from NB and didn't really want to send them back. I decided to do some surgery on the shoes and now they are perfect. I cut either side of the stitching but left the stitching to the tongue intact (see photo). Now the shoes can expand to the natural width of my foot and are perfect. I kept them and love them. Hopefully in the next redesign of the 1080 NB will modify the design to be able to accommodate my big feet. Again see photo. 2020 version on the right 2019 version on the left. Sorry, doesn't look like I can submit the photo.

Fits my long (14) narrow feet well, only complaint is a lack of arch support. Love the latex heel cup (tho it does feel a bit weird), I always wear a hole in the back of the heel, hopefully this design means these will last much longer. Not as much cushion as the Hoka Speedgoat 3s they replaced, but still very comfortable for long power hikes

The old 1083 was the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. Used them to run, play golf, cut grass. Think I bought the last three pair at an outlet store . This model is ok but just not as much room in toe box and seems to be weighted differently; though of course sure my foot has changed as well.

I've been running in the 1080's for quite some time. Each new version always makes me nervous that I'll not like the upgrades. This time, like each of the other times, my fears were over done. The most immediate noticeable difference is the heel of the shoe. It seems to fit better than previous versions. Still comfortable but it does seem to be a bit narrower than previous models. I always order a EE (wide). This time it is a bit more snug. Overall happy with the new version.

I use them for walking. I would like to have more cushion.

I love the cushioning. I tried them out on an 8-mi run on asphalt and it felt great. The following week I wore them on a 10-mi run on crushed limestone / dirt path. Cushioning was great but it comes at a sacrifice of some stability compared to my 880s. I will use the 1080s on my long runs and hard surfaces and my 880s on paths that may be uneven.

I love this shoe. I've had a half-dozen pairs of them. What I don't get is cutsy-pie and completely unnecessary changes. What's with the elfin-forest-fairy little swoopy up off the back end up into the Achilles-tendon area? It makes them look way dorky, and it also hinders the ease of pulling the shoe on. Yuk.

I use these for easy miles when I'm not focused on tempo/pace/intervals, usually running in these 2-3x per week as part of my shoe rotation. I've got about 75 miles on them so far, and love the underfoot feel. The fresh foam x isn't super soft like a hoka, or incredibly bouncy like boost, but is soft enough for long runs without wearing down by the end of the run or beating my feet up, and the shoes still feel exactly the same as when they were new. I usually struggle with bunching and breathability with knit uppers, but these don't run hot like some other knit upper shoes, and provide enough support without having to crank the laces down too tight. I think a redesigned heel cup would improve the shoe though, and the part that flares out to prevent achilles run is large enough that it hits my lower calf at times. I do notice a bit of heel slippage, but not enough to impact running performance

Felt shoe was a bit narrow in toe box. Went to a 4E vs normal 2E width and it fits fine. Very comfortable shoe that in the 4E width fits my feet well. I like the higher heal area which keeps my heel where it should be. Shape of the shoe is different than prior models which I like. Shoe is a little more soft that I prefer, but is generally very comfortable to wear.

Great shoes, w/ a good design and very comfortable and a shoe geared more towards supination. I wear a 10 in Nike's and Van's. Purchased a 10 w/ these NB's and they were a bit too small. They fit w/ thin socks but still too small and a 'lil tight on top. I returned them and purchased a 10.5 but these feel a 'lil big. I wore thick socks and they feel good in the heel and sole but the toe box has too much room.

Three years ago, after a bad injury, my physical therapist said to get 1080s. So I have gone through several versions. This newest version is very different and seems to have more cushion. So far I am liking it.

A bit tough to put on because of the tight sock/fit, but super comfy and cushy once it was on.

I started with the 1080v8 and they are wonderful, I fell in love with them and recommended to everyone I knew. They became my favorite thing to give. Later I purchased Version 9 and they are bigger than version 8. finally Vesion 10 are much tighter than version 8 or 9. I feel that NB is changing the last with every version making it difficult to shoe this shoe online. I recommend visiting a store and trying them on to purchase.

Have not had shoes for long, but they seem fine. Not too wild about the back of the shoe. Recent 1080v shoe that I have purchased have seemed to not of held up as well as those purchased several years ago from New Balance. Giving the shoe one more try.

These shoes have been pretty stellar so far. I'm only about 35 miles into them, and have developed a small blister on my instep, but believe it won't be an issue once they're more broken in. Very springy! And I've taken some time off my usual pace. I recommend them!

This shoe is great for mid distance however, the tow box is small for long distances. It also depends on preference. Super comfy and would probably buy again for my road running. Also super stylish with great support.

Great shoe. The upper is great but would improve with a sock type of engineered upper.

i have 2 pairs of 1080, these were new as i did not see the old 1080's on your website. they are ok but not like my old ones, they have a high back which i do not like, the old ones have a low back and seem to be cut wider as i am 4x width. i prefer my old ones.

Good cushioning. Do not like new heal cup design. Not as secure for me in heal as V9 and not a fan of elf look with flared heal treatment. Also allows more sand and small stones to enter rear of shoe, especially when running on trail. This is an example of style over function in my opinion. Will continue to buy V9s until they are gone.

Like the style, but even more about how light it feels when walking. I agree with others that the toe box is not wide enough for width size 4E. I had to return the original size of 13 and get a 14 to walk comfortably in the shoe and have sufficient space for my toes.
