It took about a week of break-in time, about 35 miles of walking mostly. My poor 67 year-old knees and feet are appreciative. The shoe stretches onto the heel and that was a strange feeling at first, but now I don't register it anymore. I'm not giving a 5* rating because I think they are hard to lace-tighten/loosen. I have worn a half dozen or so Solomons which are super easy to lace-tighten and I might be spoiled. Also, these shoes are too expensive.

I love the shoes (1080) but think the price is steep. Anyway, because I love---I spend the money.

These shoes are great with one exception: there is a poorly located seam the runs across the top of the foot. The stiff seam is located near the end of the opening for the tongue. I do not have a high arch, actually mine is relatively flat. Yet this area of stiffness causes discomfort across the top of my feet. I leave the laces completely loose in this area to try to counteract the stiffness, but it only provides partial relief. I'm considering ways snip the seam to loosen it, but it seems like the cut would significantly damage the integrity of the shoe. Maybe the design of the next generation of this model could move the seam further towards the toes or redesign the seam so that there is a lot more stretch in the seam itself.

I purchased my 4th pair of 1080's last week. I wasn't sure about V10 redesign in the store. When I got home and laced them up I realized NB added a feature on the inside that was sewn into the tongue. This caused the inside height of the shoe to be reduced which caused it to fit tight across the top of my foot. I'm a long distance runner and there was no way I was going to be able to run in these shoes. I'm really disappointed because I've enjoyed the 1080's. I returned the shoes and switched to the 880's which does not have the added feature inside the shoe. I noticed Fleet Feet's website now has the 1080 V10 at a greatly reduced price, less than the 880's. I'm wondering if they are not selling because of this...

V10 has a new toe box width that is quite a bit narrower than the previous version. It took me a couple of pairs to discover that and I have settled on my normal size but "Wide" width for these to work. I do have to tie them a bit tighter, but I get to keep my toenails. These are still my favorite runners (as my grandson calls them)!

Too snug but good otherwise. I would order wide foot if you are a medium

Bought mine a bit oversized.. I would have been fine with 12.5. Great that they come in so many size variations, width included. I'd recommend these.

The 1080v9 was the best running shoe I've ever owned - I went through four pairs of the v9! As the v9 is no longer available in my size and I needed a new pair of running shoes the v10 was the natural choice. It's not as comfortable as the v9 - feels like its narrower in places and that's even with the wide version that I where. I've had a small bit of knee and foot pain associated with the v10 so I gave the Fresh Foam Vongo v4 a shot and that's even worse so I'm back to the 1080v10.

I'd give this shoe a 10 except for the hard plastic that rubs on the back of your heel , took me a week to get it to soften up.

Fit was pretty much as expected I am a 4E. At first I thought the toe box felt a little snug but with the flexible upper I have not noticed it at all while running. I have about 50 miles on the shoes now. The are comfortable, stable and definitely shock absorbent. Even though the weight of the shoe is moderate it feels heavier than previous versions of the 1080. Using the shoe for my longer runs 7 - 15 miles.

This is my second pair of the 1080's(I previously had the V8 version) which I use for fitness walking and as an all day comfort shoe. I'm a supinatior so I wanted a neutral well cushioned shoe. In addition what makes this shoe great for fitness or long distance walking is a good amount of flexibility in the forefoot, a relatively low height variance(for a running shoe) of 8mm, and only a slight outward heel flare. The V8's were extremely comfortable and well fitting and were a joy to walk in. The V10's are a little bit different but as I am getting used to them I think they will be the equal of the V8's. I must admit however, that although similar, I do prefer the styling of the V8's more-they just have a little more pizzazz than the V10's.

I use the shoe mainly for walking and jogging on my treadmill. I use them every day and find them light and comfortable. They fit true to size and are not tight on my feet. They are well cushioned and I am a tall big person. My feet do not get sore after I use them and that is a bonus. The only thing I find that do not like is the heel does slip some when walking and I want to say it is because of how it is designed. I have not tied the laces for the heel lock as I have never had to do that and it really doesn't bother me when I exercise.

The headline says it all. And the extra width is greatly appreciated. I only wish there were more colors than black. I am not looking fir over the top flashy but something besides just plain black and white.

Feel ultra comfortable standing and walking. While running they don’t feel quite responsive as I was thinking for a 150$ pair of shoes l. They are light weight and breezy which make for a nice ride. I have to get the EE and the tie box looks like clown shoes.

First time I have ordered a pair of New Balance and was a little questionable if they will work - completely - for the comfort and stability I am looking for. Granted, I am calculated and wear orthotics, so I do the homework. These are a little bit more of a running show that would be great for a front foot striker, but still a great heel on them. I like them and they are very comfortable.
I'd also recommend:

The foam provides a nice cushion. The sides are a bit flimsy.

I have owned New Balance shoes since the mid 1970s. Their size 10.5 EEEE literally fits me as well as a hand made shoe. This is my second pair of 1080v10 shoes. They are comfortable and supportive for long distance, slow walks. I walk six or seven miles a day at least five times a week. My goal is the 24 minute mile. I don't always go that fast. I was disappointed with the durability of these shoes. They only lasted four months. Six months is typical for a New Balance shoe. My pair of 1080v9 shoes lasted almost eight months. While style is a question of taste, the way the heel looks reminds me of something Legolas might wear in the Lord of the Rings. I am obviously happy with these shoes, since I just purchased a second pair, but I wish the soles were designed like the v9.

Bought these to replace a different pair that wore prematurely. Was shocked at how light and cushiony they are. Only walk now due to age, weight and foot issues but still very soft!

Terrific shoe. Light weight all day type shoe. Fits like a glove, literally. I find it a little snug around the heel in getting on but once it is there feels secure without being tight. The cush in these are awesome.

I love everything about this shoe except one thing, and that one thing makes this shoe useless to me: the ankle collar is horrible, and the material coming from the last eyelet is hard; rubs my ankle and ended up with a good blister. One shoe is worse than the other. I miss the padded collars. Why NB went to this design is a puzzle to me. If they brought back a padded collar, I'm back on board, then.
