I did a lot of research and listened to a lot of reviews on-line about the pros and cons of dozens of running shoes and the 1080v10's were at the top of my list. I did have some concern on whether the flared foot collar on the back of the shoe/achilles tendon area would cause any chafing. They are perfectly fine - and I am loving these shoes! I did get them extra wide, because my feet have always been wider - with many great shoes just being too narrow for a great ride. I like the fact that NB makes the extra wide variety (many running shoe choices do not have that option or are very limited in the selection). I am loving the comfort and the feel that I am in a shoe that is protecting my foot and looking mighty good (black and silver).

A true next leap for the 1080. Easily my favorite since the V5. Love how the upper material adjusts to your movement. Great cushioning in the heel area. This model will be a hard act to follow, but a great form to evolve from. Thank you NB for making my feet happy.

I replaced my 1080 v7 w 1080 v10 . Even though I liked the v7's, the v10's are much better for me. They seem to have more cushioning, they are about 7 oz. Lighter and I really like the feel and fit of the upper. It forms to fit my foot in a snug manner indicating stability yet does so very comfortably

1080V10 interior is definitely an improvement over the previous 1080... the material is comfortable and appears that it will not tear. My previous 1080s all wore out in the interior (by the ankle area) well before the rest of the shoe was worn. Use the product for triathlon training.. 25-35 miles per week

This shoe is the real deal ! The 1080v10 is full of updates , taking this premium daily trainer to the top of it's class . The upper has a foot hugging boitie construction which wraps the foot in total comfort . This shoe has a roomy toe box with good height. The ew and improved Fresh Foam X midsole is incredibly soft with plenty of energy return . The rocker shape aids in giving this shoe a very smooth transition. The outsole is segmented to give excellent flexibility. I have been in the 1080 line of daily trainers since version 5 and this update is by far the best yet.The 1080 v10 is miles ahead of any shoe in its category.

This shoe is perfection. I wear 2E and it is very comfortable on a long run. The new material is stretchy but firm. The sole is a rocker style and gives a lot to make the run comfortable. Only slight heel slippage but much better than the v9.

New Balance has really raised the bar with the Fresh Foam 1080v10. I've lost count of how many pairs of the previous iterations of the 1080 I've been through, but I could always count on them to fit well and offer me the sort of support I need. These are like stepping into an insanely comfortable, high-tech walk-assist device. The toe box is taller so your digits have more room to move up and down, but at the same time it's a highly stable platform – your foot won't move around on the insole. I love these so much, I'm ordering another pair in the other color this week.

These shoes have been a game changer for my foot. I've had an issues with achilles and a bone spur that drastically reduced my miles. When I switched to the Fresh Foam it allowed me to get back out there. I love that they are supportive, but also have enough foam that my foot isn't on fire within a mile. Thank you New Balance!

The New Balance 1080 sort of died with the advent of the "Fresh Foam" marketing concept. These are soft and comfortable but it's basically just a huge foam pad with a soft upper and I don't get a lot of technical feedback like the older 1080 versions from the ride and feel like my feet are too far off the ground. Over time I got used to it but wouldn't want to take these on a rough trail or run on uneven surfaces. I feel like it's a twisted ankle ready to happen. But if cushioning is your number one priority this is definitely your shoe. The shoe is too narrow and my little toes wore holes in the uppers and I have narrow feet. Will definitely get a wider width next time. The dracula style design thing that sticks up behind your heel is a gravel catcher and I sometimes have to stop and empty the little rocks out of the shoe. I'm over 6 ft and 200 pounds and run/walk about 20 miles per week. At 7 months they were very much worn out. I wish they would offer a wider range of color choices. It seems like basic black is the color every shoe manufacturer loves right now. The shoe has a considerable drop from heel to toe and the forefoot portion of the sole wore out much quicker than the heel. Overall a plain-Jane highly cushioned shoe without much technical innovation but it gets the job done. Good for training but not going to set any speed records with the model. Overpriced in my opinion.

My son likes the look of these sneakers. They are giving him blisters on the outside part of his ankles. Perhaps this is temporary as he breaks into the sneakers. The footbed is comfortable, however.

Be specific about your likes and dislikes. How was the fit and size? What does the material feel like? How awesome (or not) do you feel wearing them?

Not enough lateral support. Left foot rotated causing me to loose my balance and fall. For me sneakers very unstable.

Use it for running on the treadmill. Very comfortable and cushioned. Only complaint is the rigidity and relative lack of flexibility in the sole.

They wore out far too fast. If you are a big guy with a 17 shoe; prob shouldn’t get “fresh foam.” So that’s on me. Great product though.
