What can I say about them. I love the comfort of the speedgoats. This is my second pair of speedgoats. I play Disc Golf in them. My first pair I put over 300 plus miles in them before the sides blew out. This second pair is just as comfortable as the first pair. The only reason I did not give it five stars was because the color. The color on the website made the shoes look more black than when they came to me. When they arrive they are more of a light greenish gray color. But other than that they are a great pair of shoes and I highly recommend them. Especially someone like myself that plays multiple rounds of disc golf every week in and out of the woods in creeks in wet grass. I highly recommend these shoes to keep your feet dry

I've taken this shoe on multiple adventures/hikes now and have a clear understanding of where it shines and where it does not. If you're looking to travel quickly through fairly flat terrain with little obstacles, the shoe is hard to beat. I have a trail that I hike/run and this shoe excels on this route. But, last weekend I decided to give them a try on a pretty tough hike in the white mountains of NH with lots of steep terrain, including many rocky obstacles and it was very evident these won't replace my real hiking boots. The wonderful Hoka soft sole that I love so much, wasn't stable enough once the terrain got a little edgy. What felt fairly stable on the flat mostly packed dirt trail became unstable, rolling at points with little to no protect against debris in the trail. It was kind of like bringing a knife to a gun fight, just not the right shoe for the job. With that said, I love these shoes and would absolutely buy them again, but now know when to wear them and when to leave them in the truck.

These are probably the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. They have excellent grip, very waterproof and warm without making my feet sweat. My biggest complaint is how hard they are to get on. Even fully loosened it's a struggle to get them on bit, once they are on they are great. Also which they had more color options.

I love Hokas. This was my 3rd pair. Returned them last week because the sizing is different from my 2 Bondi6 pairs. Speedgoat mid was too tight in the width. I asked if there was a wide and told no. Didn't know if a12.5 would work. The 12 size is on the way back. I am truly bummed.

I wear these everyday to work, great shoe. Downsides are they are hard to put on as another reviewer said and I wish the sole would last longer although I am on concrete for 10 hours a day and are pretty hard on the shoes. Very comfortable, I have a nerve problem near my toes and these Hoka's are the only shoes I've been able to work in due to the cushioning.

I have only had them two weeks and it's kinda too soon to tell. They are not that supportive due to the material the upper sole is made out of. I am wondering what they will feel like after a month

Bought these to work in the yard. They are comfortable and seem to be made well to handle the abuse I put them through. They do feel a bit too wide in the toes, may be a sizing issue on my part.

Bottom line: A keeper for me after trying several others.
I hike a lot of rocky desert trails and do some moderate bouldering. Bought some Oboz (very nice, but sole was a little thin and shoe wasn't substantial enough; good for easy trails but not the tough stuff) and Merrell Moab (very substantial and Vibram sole is nice and firm, but the laces don't close the shoe completely and let in a lot of junk; could use another set of eyelets). Zappo's rep then recommended these Hokas.
Pros:
. Great Vibram sole in combination with same kind of cushioning as the Hoka running shoes makes the little rocks disappear.
. Sole has excellent traction on smooth-ish rocks; makes for confident climbing.
. Design of top (where the foot enters) is much better than Merrells; folds right over the tongue for a pretty good seal.
. Very light weight.
Cons:
. Uppers are an unforgiving fabric that is not comfortable on the top of the foot. Am hopeful this will breeak in a little over time. (Have only done three hikes so far.)
. Very difficult to get foot in. Tongue is sewn in almost all the way to the top; need to remove top laces and loosen all the way to the bottom, and even then it's hard to put foot in. A small beef, considering its virtues, but no fun taking off the shoe mid-hike if needed.
I'd also recommend:
Oboz, for easy, relatively smooth trails.

I use these for work delivering for a food delivery company. These are definitely the most comfortable boots.

I like the color, fit, ankle support "A+", and softness on the bottom of my foot. Walked in deep water puddles and never got my feet wet
Con: I'm wearing them out in less that 50 miles and on the outside of the shoe it got a black ring around the shoe. Maybe the gortex. My friend had the same shoe and did the same thing. Will buy another pair

Have had 2 pair of the Speedgoat 2 mId with Gore-tex. Both pair after a few trail runs began to leak moisture. Just finished a 50 mile ultra and a 5 mile hike in the past couple of weeks and on both my toe box area was wet. Will to buy again because of this issue. Hope the new 5's are better .

I always heard great things about this company figure I would give it a shot and spend the money and try out my first pair of trail shoes. My main disappointment in the sneaker is it's too narrow and the toe box in the front is too narrow and tight. The first day wearing them I had them on for12 hours, I couldn't wait to take them off. Sure there is a lot of cushion on the bottom and it handles the miles that you put on your feet. But it's uncomfortable when your feet feels squished in a narrow shoe, they don't have no room to move or breathe

The 3/4 height is good. The difficulty is with putting on the shoes. A shoe horn is required as I cannot spread the laces and sides far enough apart to easily slide my foot into the shoe. Suggest shortening the area where the tongue is connected or have the ability to spread the shoe open.

I got the shoe and did a significant amount of walking and got a blister on my left big toe. First time I've had a problem with other shoes. Size 13 ordered and needed a 14. They seem to be well constructed- going to keep wearing them.

These shoes are very difficult to get on. Plus, I don't understand why they are high in the front and low in the back.
Once you have them on, though, they feel very comfortable.

I cannot figure out the changes made to the speedgoats. They are MUCH harder to put on and wear blisters on my achilles tendon.
The old design was perfect.
