I liked the weight, as no one likes hauling around heavy foot wear. But the toe box was much to small and I couldn't even get them on my feet for a "test drive" I like the Hoka brand and find that model "stinson' works well for me. Is the insole on all manufactures sneakers getting thinner and thinner.....

Definitely not a "wide" fit as is the Clifton and Bondi. There is so little cushioning that they were killing my feet after only 5 miles. I am not sure I will even keep them.

I have the Hoka Speedgoat 4 eco and they are some of my favorite shoes ever. Light, good cushion, very comfortable. I bought these and the tongue of the shoe digs into my skin at the top of my foot. I had to return, no way I could see myself running even a short distance in them. The rest of the shoe was nice.

Returning. For the price, looked cheaply made. Too much cushion on sole made for bouncy steps. Fit was true to size, but overall disappointed.

Having purchased numerous pairs of WIDE Hoka, I decided to try the Speedgoat. Hoka must use a different shoe last for this model, as the Speedgoat doesn't have the same width as other Hoka WIDE models that I have tried......why would they do this?

Here's the deal, I ordered a pair of these a couple of weeks ago, in EE and when I slipped them on, I thought "finally, the Goldilocks shoe that I need for long trail miles." Then, instant hearbreak as I took a few strides with both shoes on. The plastic covering on the toebox cut RIGHT into the toes. Dumbest design and materials choice I've seen in any shoe in over 15 years. Seriously, who can wear these? Maybe those who don't flex their toes? I don't get it. It's a fatal flaw in the shoe design. So *sigh*... trying out the Evo Mafate 2 next which doesn't seem to have that annoying plastic tab. Too bad, since that's only available in a D. We'll see... but seriously Hoka, just make that covering over the box a sturdy mesh and it would be more comfortable, breathable, and with better drainage. Really terrible decision... on HOKA's part.

I liked the running shoe but this trail show is too bouncy, it make me work really hard for balance, I thought maybe I needed a bigger size but it's just not the right shoe for me, i think it is comfortable and are ideal for some trail runners but i feel like my foot leans to the right and left. Hard to describe.

Received the shoes opened the box to try them on noticed that there was dust on them like from when you weren’t run around the track looked at the bottom of the shoes and they looked like they had been worn put them on and the right foot was hurting my foot I tried adjusting the shoe laces and still no satisfaction of comfort so I returned them not only for thatReBe specific about your likes and dislikes. How was the fit and size? What does the material feel like? How awesome (or not) do you feel wearing them?

Nice try Hoka, you might want to get a new measuring device when you build "wide" shoes. These are more narrow than many competitor's standard width. Epic fail for people that need shoes that are actually "wide"

This is my third SG4 and it had a few defects in the assembly of the upper to the midsole in both shoes. This caused a lot of pain. The first batch was perfect, second was the This and that White SG which had defected outer soles, they wore out very quickly. The third was the worst as far as quality and the material seems to have worn out at mile 60. The first one lasted 530 miles and still looks great. ThisAndThst lasted 280m. So they must have changed the factory! Kinda forced to look at other brands because I simply can't trust HOKA quality anymore

Been training for an ultra and decided to buy the shoes everyone's speaking so positively about. Super comfortable and much easier on my knees - I even feel that they're somewhat corrective of my plantar fasciitis. Problem is, they're falling apart real quick. After about 1.5 months of running (granted, heavy mileage) my pinky toes are wearing the shoes thin. This always happens with my running shoes, though generally after four to six months of use. The ankle collar is also pretty shot, so now there's a lump that's been irritating my ankle, which isn't ideal.

The engineering of this shoe doesn't match my use of them: the toe front is high, so perhaps they're intended for something other than everyday use.

The shoes seem ok they just were not wide enough. Do you have any plans to offer a 4E wide shoe?

I loved the style, unfortunately have to exchange it for the Bondi my husband needs the extra room inside the shoe. This shoe looks sleeker, but not comfortable for hard to fit feet.

NIce looking shoe. They were too narrow and painful, so I returned them. Hoka needs to offer wider shoes in more colors. As it is, I usually wear an 8 in women’s shoes. I can’t wear Hokas in women’s sizes because they’re all too narrow. I have to wear a men’s 8 and deal with the length being too long just so I don’t have to suffer through the width being too narrow. The Speed Goat was still too narrow. Thankfully the Clifton 7 is ok for me (I haven’t been able to wear Cliftons since the Clifton 3 because they started making them more narrow). Between the Clifton 3 and Clifton 7 I wore the Napali. I don’t run... I only wear these shoes because they’ve cured my sciatica.

The shoe is too narrow for a wide foot and the material along the outside of the toe box is too stiff. My baby toes hurt for 4 days after walking one hour in the shoe

fit and size fine however I returned items because I do not feel they are made well. Sloppy stitching on upper. I have seen reviews saying these sneakers fell apart quickly .I suspect they are right after looking at the sloppy way they are put together.

I bought these shoes in the wide option. It still gave me blisters on the sides of my feet. The top is very rigid and tough and does not bend as well with the ascent and descent of the trails. That causes the material to cut into the side of my foot. The ride and the grip of the shoe are pretty great, I wish they were more forgiving on the feet.

Love this shoe, but the tongue needs to be fully padded. I got blisters on the top of my feet from the edge of the tongue, and returned the shoes. Otherwise, loved the design. If the tongue design is revised, I would gladly buy the shoe again.
Would love to see more shoes offered in wide sizes.

Even the wide shoes were to narrow at the ball of my foot becoming tight as toes splay out with walking

I wish I could review the shoe based on a trail run or hike, but it runs so narrow that I couldn't even get it on properly and had to return it. I wear an 11.5 wide in the Challenger ATR and the Clifton, and ordered a wide in the Speedgoat as well, but based on its current sizing Hoka needs to offer an extra-extra-wide to make the Speedgoat fit feet that comfortably wear wides in other models. I'm still looking for a shoe a bit more technically-oriented than the Challenger (especially in terms of tread) that has the same-size footbed. Maybe next time, Hoka?

The upper part of the shoe has seams that I could feel poking through my socks. The front of the shoe folded in when walking, crushing my toes. Very uncomfortable.
